I got these for my husband who works on his feet all day. After trying numberous insoles, these are by far the best yet. Thank you altrec for your high quality products!
Great product

After developing plantar fascitis (sp?) about 3 years ago (I'm a 30 mile per week runner), I tried nearly every insole on the market - including every Superfeet and Sole. Then a friend who had run the Badwater Ultra told me that the Montrail insoles had a great reputation among the Badwater folks in fixing foot issues, particularly plantar. Sure enough, after a month of rest and easing back into running using the Enduro Sole insoles, my plantar disappeared. These do take up a fair amount of volume in shoes, and are best for mid to high arches - great for high arches. The LP version should work well for low arches.
If only all shoes came with quality insoles

These insoles will make an instant upgrade to just about any pair of shoes. Be careful though with these insoles because they have a lot of cushion. I wasn't too concerned since I put these in a pair of hiking boots and had ample room to take up some space. Now that I've got these insoles in my boots they fit like a glove now plus the added comfort of the cushioning from the insole, so it was a win-win for me. I think that they're pretty true to size with a little extra to spare. I got a 10 and they fit my boots nicely. Actually they have a little extra so you could cut them if you need to.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, cushioning, Cons: Cost, could be too much cushion for some shoesGood product that came in a timely manner.

I just purchased a pair of new hiking boots and decided to go hog wild and set them up right from the beginning with a better footbed. I read reviews on all the different products and decided to try Montrail's Enduro-Soles mainly due to custom moldable support as well as the very competitive price I received from altrec.com. My purchasing and product delivery experience couldn't have been smoother - order one day and the insoles show up at my house a day and a half later. I had been concerned that I didn't order the correct size insole, my shoes were size 8 1/2 and I ordered size 9 insoles, so the first thing I did after receiving the new insoles was to compare them with the ones that came with my boots. They matched perfectly! I followed the instructions by heating the new insoles in my oven at 225° for a couple of minutes, putting them in my boots, then standing and walking around a little in my boots to mold them. After that I reached into my boot with my hand and could feel the indentations and ridges between where the ball of my foot and toes left impressions in the insole material. Last weekend I took a group of scouts on a backpacking trip to Horseshoe Lake in the Trinity Alps where I really got to test out the new insoles. They feel great! Every morning as I put on my shoes all I can say is "ahhhh"

Best Heat Moldable custom insoles
February 22, 2010
I've had plantar fasciitis for over 7 years, I've tried nearly every product and over the counter insole available including $400 podiatrist ordered custom insoles. For the money, there's simply no other insert that comes close to relieving the pain of plantar fasciitis. I now have a total of 3 Enduro's that I interchange plus 1 Enduro LP for dress shoes. If you have a high arch like I do these will give you the best custom fit and comfort possible and Altrec has the best price.
The Best Insole
August 30, 2010
I bought these from the shoe guy's who do work for custom insoles to help with my Plantar issue and I love them. They work, I hike along fine with these even when my feet are acting up. Nice that they don't have a bunch of fluffy supports included for no reason positioned here and there to bug the bottom of your feet. Finally I talked my husband into them after he tried on a million pairs without any luck, he's hooked now. I can hike on my Plantar Facia with icy Bio Freeze and a good boot. Forgive my spelling!

Great Insoles

These are my second insoles and I can only say they are terrific. I had a spur on the bottom of my heal. My cousin sent me my first pair at least 8 years ago and the spur went away in no time and I'm still using these insoles.

Arch Support & Fundamental Shock Absorption
September 02, 2010
I'm flat-footed and also need shock absorption since I have to walk a lot in the city. A PT/neighbor recommended these over the other brands. I've worn them for a year, and am pleased. Enough so that I gave some as stocking stuffers to family members with similar foot-knee issues. I'm also trying one each of two others. Look for my reviews under them in the next 60 days.

This was the first time in 20 yrs I have used an oven. The result was great, the footbed sized for my shoe and now molded for my feet, makes walking and standing easy and painless. I gave up running and jumping somewhere in my late 30s.

Been hiking all my life and for the first time I started experiencing foot pain. Tried lots of different insoles. The Montrail's have been the best and most comfortable. Since using them, I have been able to put in long miles with little to no discomfort.
Best Insole for the $
January 21, 2013
This is my second purchase of the Montrail Enduro-Sole. With my first purchase, I followed the instructions for the custom fit and found that the insole compressed a bit too much but was still a comfortable fit in my shoes. With this second pair, I just used them right out of the package and I find that they eventually break in and mold to a good fit without putting them in the oven first. I take a long walk in the morning and also play tennis with my insoles so they have to hold up and stay comfortable and Montrail fits the bill. They do start to break down (For me, this took about 9 months) but for the $ you can't beat the fit and comfort.
Pros: Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueMontrail Insoles- More than half-baked

I am a big proponent of insole use when it comes to running shoes, particularly trail-running types. I like to go with a more minimalist trail shoe, so an insole can often help with the pounding from roots, spree, and the random rock. I also have one arch, on my right foot, that tends to crash upon impact so insoles help with that as well. I bought these insoles specifically to use in Montrail shoes, and the insole size coincided with the shoes size just perfect. You 'cook' the insoles in the oven at a low temp for a few minutes and then slip them into you shoes and let them mold to your feet. It was easy enough, and since no trimming to fit was required for me, I was off and running right away. The comfort level is very good, the quality is excellent, and these are a definite step-up from all factory installed insoles. I like them very much.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of useGreat insoles

These insoles help my feet as much as the ones my podiatrist made for me. Service was fast, and the price was good compared to other sites.
Cheap Mans Orthotics
August 30, 2010
If your looking to spend $300 or more on inserts don't read this review. Otherwise this will be the best investment you can make for any endeavor you do that involves walking, standing, running, or anything done on your feet. I started using my insoles after working with an PT who made orthotics and was very impressed with the method used by Montrail to get the insert to mold to the foot. Since then I have put the inserts in ALL my work shoes. I'm on my feet 8 hrs a day. Using these inserts have made a world of difference at the end of the day. My feet are happy. You will be happy.

Good inersoles are as important as good socks. When the foot meets the shoe with the most impact is on the bottom and mile after mile the miles will bleed energy out the bottom of your feet. The Montrail inersoles are suportive, comfortable and well made. Not as agressive as some I have used these provide good support and easy to slip in and go out of the box. A great product.
