Reengineered with Atlas Scandium SL poles, the Hammerhead 3 serves up over 60 square feet of practical space for three adults or two adults with two small children. It's a great design for backpacking and paddling, especially if you prefer a rollback ceiling for evening stargazing beneath no-see-um netting. Mountain Hardwear recently revised this three-season tent, reinforcing the pole design with Atlas Scandium SL, a hard alloy built to withstand over 109,000-psi of intense pressure. This enhanced strength allows for thinner pole walls that reduce weight without compromising structural integrity. The Hammerhead 3 features a double door and a double pull out vestibule design, allowing for an easier exit for those sleeping along the sides. In the event of rain or snow, the fly has a large UVX sky window, so you can keep an eye on changing weather. The same window material used in expedition-quality tents, UVX is a proprietary clear material that's been tested at 27,000 feet and resists clouding like PVC or plastic film. It even stays flexible all the way down to -66 F. Not that you would want to pitch a tent and sleep outside in those conditions for very long.
Great tent.
I am very happy with this tent. Stood up to 3 days of rain dry as a bone. Fit 3 people just fine with space for gear. The closeable windows are great for privacy or controlling ventilation. True mountian hardware quality.
Big Tent for Big Guys
This tent is extremely well-constructed and pretty light, given its size.True Mountain Hardware quality. Easy to set up and an amazing array of windows, zippers, etc. This is very comfortable and unlike most "3-man" tents, you could actually sleep 3. But at 6'4" I like some room and headroom and its perfect for two people who need that. My only complaint is that there is no real vestibule for cooking or heating water on crappy days, or before you head out.

I really like my tent, I'm very happy
Thank you very much for your service.
