The right choice for a synthetic bag
March 05, 2011

An appropriate choice when weight is not the most important factor. Super warm, good size compression for being synthetic. The overall point is, is the bag going to get wet, or is it going to stay dry? If your guaranteed a dry trip, then a down bag is a better option for the weight. If there is any chance of getting wet . . . the extra weight of these synthetic bags will be very appreciated during the long night while you stay warm.

Mountain Hardwear Lamina -15 sleeping bag
December 28, 2010

I've done a lot of mountaineering and this is the best engineered bag that I have purchased so far. It's roomy enough in the shoulder area so you don't feel like you are sleeping in a tube. The zipper has a nylon shield that keeps it from snagging the fabric - nice feature when the lights are out. There is also an inner collar that prevents heat from escaping. I also found a small zippered pocket on the exterior for valuables. The outer nylon shell seems a bit light but that's necessary to keep the weight of the bag to a minimum. For the money, this is probably the best bargain on a sub-zero bag.

Pros: Great design, Performance, Great value

This Bag Does The Job
October 29, 2008

I camped out northern Alberta, Canada on a hiking trip, that night as I set up my tent it started snowing heavily and it was -20 Celsiu, after I set up my tent I went quickly back into my tent and slept in this Lamina -15 bag. I was warm and it did the job. Even though there were some condensation in the tent this bag kept the water out. Pros:- Does well in cold. - Lofty - No cold spots Cons:- The Bag is kind of tight - Hard to stuff into stuff sack
