Great Belt
October 22, 2011

This is a very lightweight belt. I have a 32" waist and when it is tightened I have roughly 10-12" of slack. The nylon is soft but strong and I have not had the belt long enough to comment on durability. The hook design is simple but very convenient because you can instantly unbuckle and adjusting is fairly easy. The belt holds it's position without any slipping. It is not a perfect five star due to the huge amount of slack but I would recommend this belt.

Pricey but versatile and light
August 06, 2009

The belt webbing is narrow but can handle a moderate load. I may use it as a jacket belt as well as the quick release lends itself to this application. The recycled poly is higher grade than most. For Summer weight pants or shorts or ultralight travel, it's fine; I'm happy to own one. I've made an extra loop keeper out of elastic for mine, which may be useful.

Nut Belt
December 09, 2010

I'm so glad to I decided to buy this belt. Since purchasing it I find myself wearing it all the time. I got it to lower my overall weight when hiking and now wear it to work half the time. Looks great with slacks too. Now that my son has discovered it I'll have to breakdown and buy another one as a stocking-stuffer. Works great with my ski pants as well. A great, light weight durable belt. Would recommend this product to all.

Pros: Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, very light weight

Great Belt...
January 04, 2010

I purchased this belt for MHW ski pants. It is a heavy duty belt designed just for this job. The quality is extremely good the width and thickness is perfect and it fits nicely through the belt keepers. The buckle is solid and easy to adjust. It does not slip at all and it has stayed tight throughout the entire day of skiing. I recommend this belt.

Quick release is a nice touch and can use to hold a chalk bag or a dog's treat bag. Packs small.

Works very well, adjusts to wide range of sizes
July 13, 2010

Belt works great for me! Belt will stay tight, you just have to run that orangish-yellowish loop tight against the back of the buckle. Don't use it to hold the slack at the end of the belt (belt loops do that job ;) ), it must be tight against the back of the buckle to prevent slippage. Love the belt, buckle is convenient. I would guess the belt would accommodate someone in the 40" +/- range for the waist size.

Decent belt, but a bit overpriced
September 28, 2010

Like this belt, but a few things I would have liked to see different. The price should definitely be lower($25.00) for what this is. I like the nylon belt portion, but the tab is a bit long once I tighten it (36 waist). The buckle is unique, but a tough design to get used to.

Good belt for it's purpose
January 31, 2011

I originally purchased this to use on gore tex pants that had loops for belt, fits pants with narrow loops, holds the length I set it at, easy on and off, doesn't absorb water on those wetter days. and decent styling for it's purpose. Also use it with jeans, while a little narrow it works.

Men's Alloy Nut Belt - Great Buy!
October 06, 2011

I bought this belt to replace a patagonia web belt and I've used it ever since. Smart design, great look, practical, lightweight and no leather. I bought one in black, and now I'm considering picking up another in a different color. My wife even complimented the look, which can be rare when it come to outdoors clothing.

Decent
November 14, 2010

I like the belt - it's attractive and sturdy. The one issue is that it doesn't always stay when fastened but can tend to 'move up' over the pant front. Other than that, it's what I wanted.

Pros: Great design, Lasts forever, Ease of use, Cons: Bad design
Durability: 1 / 5
Quality: 3 / 5

Very flexible material, not rigid enough
December 09, 2011

I was okay with how flexible the material was, even though it makes it very hard to loop through your belt loops, until I accidentally washed it. Upon washing it, the nylon webbing frayed and got even more soft. I never use it at all now, and hopefully I'll find something to lash with it. I ended up liking my simple Bison Designs belt so much more, because of the stiffer material and no metal detectors going off, and the much more secure attachment, that I got a Spec Ops version, in a wider strap and a bit more robust. This mountain hardwear belt was also always coming loose, and it needed constant adjustments throughout the day. Not very good.

Cons: Wears quickly, Cost, Bad design, Low performance, Poor quality

Priced for an XMas Exchange Gift

It's a Belt
July 10, 2009

This is a belt. Belts hold up pants and allow clippy things to be attached. This belt adjusts its circumference, and most belts do. What's so special? Nothing....well, except that the hex-nut Mtn Hardware buckle has an open "tooth" on it that allows you to fasten and unfasten the belt easily; far easier than the thread-thru type. It's instantaneous.

Looks like a seatbelt
December 05, 2010

My niece refers to my belt like seatbelt, since she always sees me wearing the belt. The belt is great for hanging your phone and other accessories you like to carry. ItÂ’s also light weight and sturdy. The only thing I found it that it is a little uncomfortable around the buckle, due to me been overweight, other than that itÂ’s a great belt.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Cons: little uncomfortable

Decent Belt
February 24, 2010

I must admit I was pretty stoked to get this belt. Upon arrival, however, I was left less then thrilled. The belt has great quality and seems sturdy enough but was HUGE on my 30" waist. I had a good 10" of excess belt after tightening (which isn't the easiest thing to do). Also I'm let down by the fact it keeps coming loose on me - even tried with some Mountain Hardware pants and it wouldn't fit the belt loops. I'll give it 4 stars for quality and features but can't give 5 due to those basic needs. If you're small like me, look elsewhere.

Pretty good belt
October 30, 2012

Good belt although it loosens up during the day. Also it's a little more narrow than I was hoping, but still a good belt for hiking/camping. Seems to be very durable.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Cons: Cost

smaller than expected
June 26, 2009

Very lightweight and small. I feel the width of the belt alone is too small for most guys pants or shorts. Cool style, but that is where it stops. For the price, there are heavier duty belts with a much better buckle/clasp. I returned it due to the small nature.

better than most
June 08, 2009

at least there is a little style to this webbed belt. most of them are so ridiculously plain while this one adds a little flair. belt is a little on the small side, though, which works well re: most pants but not so well re: making a statement.

Nice Belt

Great color and love the open tooth for easy unclasping. It does run a little small which is nice for women.

Nice belt for narrow loops
January 06, 2011

Got this as it was the only belt narrow enough to fit in my Mountain Hardwear convertible's belt loops. Pros: Stylish, doesn't look out of place in town and in the field. Easy to tighten, rigid enough to thread through tunnel-like belt loops yet soft and comfortable on the waist. Cons: constant adjustment needed, especially when wearing gear loaded pants. Sets of metal detectors at airports.

Pros: Build quality, Ease of use

Good for some things
May 31, 2010

Great clasp and look. Too soft to easily slide through the back loop on the Matterhorn pants. Belt can fold over during wear and basically turn into a nylon rope. I will probably buy a stiffer belt.
