Great pants
I have been looking for travel pants that have a long inseam, 35". The Men's Canyon Pants fit the bill. I have worn them around town and they felt great; cool and comfortable. Haven't used them for hiking yet. The large with the long inseam work for me, 6'2", 197lb.

Comfortable!
Most comfortable pants in the world. I'm 5'9 160 with shorter than average legs. Pants are pretty adjustable to suit my needs. Just went for a hike that culminated in a cave and the droplets of water beaded right off and the pants were dry in no time. Mountain Hardwear makes the best everything and Altrec continues to be the one place worthy of my money.

Exceeds all my expectations!
These pants met ALL my criteria for the activities I do which include backpacking, leisure biking, and rock climbing. These criteria are: lightweight, reasonable price, fast drying, low pack space volume, durable, UV protection, precise fit of waist vs length size, and acceptable color options. They offer the best fit of other name brands I have tried. I hope Mountain Hardware continues to sell a pant that has all of these qualities!

Awesome Value
Just tried on my new Canyon Pants from MH and I am totally pleased. Great craftsmanship and even better functionality. I took a stab in the dark on sizing and went with a large/regular (pretty much all that was left). I am 5-10, 185 and usually wear a 33-34/32 in pants. They are a bit loose but super comfortable so a perfect fit. Now, I can't wait for the weather to break so I can test them on the trails!

So far, so good
Height = 6'2. Weight = 200 Waste 32-33. Size pants I went with = L/Long. Fit = good with a little extra room. I think medium would work, but I'm glad I went large. Great design, nice deep pockets and seem pretty durable. I'd choose these over my REI Sahara Convertables.

Lightweight pants without the nylon feeling!
Organic feeling pants with loose fitting feel. Lots of leg movement and big pockets makes them a nice pair of three season pants. Size large is roomy and about 33 inches!

Mountain Hardwear's Canyon Pants are superb
I've hiked in them, bushwhacked in them, climbed in them and hunted in them. Mountain Hardwear's Canyon pants are exceptionally well-designed, well-made, and they fit me perfectly.

Packable, dry fast, fit great.
I've owned 4 pairs of these over the years and they are by far my favorite pant for climbing, biking, hiking, and traveling. When I traveled around the world in developing nations for one year I took one pair of pants with me; I took my Canyon Pants. They got hand washed in buckets and sinks for a year and worn nearly everyday and they held up perfectly.

Only Average
I like Mountain Hardwear clothing, but was disappointed this time with the Canyon Pants. The clasp on the belt is uncomfortable and the pants ride too low in my opinion. I still wear them, but prefer the North Face equivalent.

Great pants for my needs
Bought a pair of Mountain Hardwear Canyon Pants for trail hiking and fly fishing. They are durable, breathable, lightweight and comfortable. I can layer a base layer underneath to wear under waders, but can hike-in in comfort. I find these more verstile and comfortable than other brands. I am likely to buy another pair - defintely a winner.

Favorite pants
These are the lightet, most breathable pants I have worn. For waist size 42, order the XXL, great fit and very comfortable to wear. I wear them as an everyday, casual pant, but they look fine for work too.

Most camfortable long lasting pants I've owned
Bought my first pair of canyon pants for hiking. Found them so comfortable that they became daily wear. After nearly four years they are beginning to show their age and it was time for a new pair. The new ones are just as comfortable.

Extremely light. Non-binding while lifting knees.
Excellent for warm weather hiking. Has buns, so that one can lift one's knees without any resistance. Adjustable cuff allows one to make knickers to cool off.

The most comfortable pants that I've worn
I have two pair and just bought a pair for my wife. I've also bought the MH long and short sleeve wicked tee for both of us. The combination is extremely comfortable for both casual wear and performance. I perspire a great deal whether here in the hot, humid Texas Gulf Coast or in the more dry San Juans of Colorado. The material wicks moisture away, keeps you pretty dry and avoids the sweaty odor that tighter weaves seem to accumulate. Nice color selection and fit.

Light, comfortable and easy to care for
I got these before the end of the cold weather here in Eastern PA. But, not a problem! I wore them, with lightweight base layer, with temps in the upper 30s and lower 40s and, even though light, they were warm and comfortable. With the slightly warmer 60s and even into the 70s for a couple of days, they were great! As far as care? Simply throw them in the washer and dryer and voila! ready for wearing. One of the better buys in pants I've made lately.

Very good for hiking
I just did few hiking with these pants, it's really light but looks pretty strong. When you hike you don't need extra weight to carry these pants don't weigh anything. Moreover its shape allow you to move very easily. The hankle string are tricky to use but very efficient to block any intruder to enter...

The perfect pants
These have got to be the most comfortable, lightest, best-fitting pants I own. I tried one pair for a trip and for work. They performed excellently in hot, humid, mosquito-infested conditions. I was noticably cooler than others who were even wearing shorts (heavy cotton ones of course). For work, they look great. Crisp, clean appearance, and they wash well, too. I now have two pair and plan to get more.

Excellent lightweight hiking pants.
Pros: Very lightweight and confortable pant that breathes well. Good, non-binding fit with integral belt. Wearing the Canyon Pant is almost as comfortable as wearing a pair of shorts with a lot more protection. Cons: The only con is that the pant fabric is very prone to pilling so appearance of the pants as casual wear was degraded somewhat after only a few hikes.

great fit
Just like other pants I have from Moutain Hardwear these fit perfect. They have a good rise that makes them sit right at the waist. Extremely light and cut well for my frame. I am 6'4" and weight 205. I look at pants costing twice as much and these won for best fit.

Fantastic!
I bought these pants last Febuary for my first grand canyone hike- They did "GREAT!" It was pouring the entire way down the South Kaibab trail and snowing all the way up the Bright Angel. I had a pair of thermals underneath and the combination was perfect! I wear these at least twice a week, and they still look really good, and the velcro and zippers are all still perfect. Overall I give these 5/5 and I'm very picky about my gear. These are a must if you are casual hiker or want a cool pair of pants to wear out- AZ HIKER- B

Canyon Pants vs jeans
These pants are everything! Roomy, comfortable, and well made. They seem wind and stain resistant. You can hang out in them, or throw on a nice shirt and go out on the town. I love mine, came back and bought same pants in a different color.

Great brand, great material, light, but a bit large
I picked up the XL size at a great price. I'm 6'2" about 200lbs. and have a 34 waist. The size was a bit big, but the built in belt fixes the problem. I love Mountain Hardwear items and this one doesn't disappoint. They weren't lying about the comfortable, quick drying, lightweight (10 oz) material. Great buy!

Gear that's hard to beat....
I bought these pants in confidence, as I already have several pairs of Mountain Hardwear shorts, shirts, and jackets. None of their gear has ever been disappointing. The pants fit well, although the inseam is a tad long for my 30" regular needs. These pants wear like iron, when given hard use sitting on abrasive rock. When you're in the back country, you can rinse them out in a clear lake or stream. They dry out fast, and feel like clean clothes again!

Good, lightweight, fast drying outdoor pants
I use these pants for backpacking, hiking, and climbing in the Colorado Rockies. They are both comfortable and functional. I use the drawcord cuff to "knickerize" the pants for hot days. I do wish the pockets were cut so I could get into them without undoing the waistbelt on my pack.

Great pants, but quality of fit is lacking
I own the Convertible Pack pants in XL, which are outstanding. Best pair of pants I own! I then ordered these Canyon Pants, same size. I am a 37-38 waist. The size L is just a bit tight and the belt was too small for the pant. I also bought an XL, which is way too big in the waist. I called the company, and they are aware of the fitting problems. If you happen to fit the pants, they are excellent!
