Men's Downtown Coat 4.7 5 10 10
I love this coat After moving to the Windy City of Chicago, I needed a down parka that would be both comfortable and stylish. This coat completely fits the bill, and provides excellent warmth. The insulated hood is highly functional, as are the fleece lined pockets. My only complaint is that there aren't quite enough pockets to satisfy me - just 2 hand pockets and 1 left chest pocket, with no extra pockets on the inside of the coat. But the coat also looks GREAT - I can wear it with business casual or formal attire. It looks more like a coat than any other winter jacket I've owned. Also, regarding my pockets comment, the minimal number of external pockets definitely helps the style and look of the coat. I can tell that the coat is high quality, and it has stood up to the elements during Chicago winter. The fit is also wonderful - I'm 5'8", 165, medium build, and the Medium fits me perfectly. Great Coat (so far) I've only had the Downtown Coat for a few weeks but so far, so good. We just had our first real cold and snow in Chicago and the coat kept me warm. It is a big coat but it fits perfectly without too much extra bulk. The hood works well but can zip off when not needed and the coat is long enough to cover your rear - which are both benefits to me. Great, warm coat! I ordered this to replace a peacoat which wasn't doing very much to keep me warm. This has made a complete difference! When I'm wearing it, I can't feel any cold breeze coming through. In fact, while wearing it in 30 degree weather, I even felt kinda hot. I'm about 5'10", 190 and the large fits me perfectly. Definitely glad I ordered this coat. I have no complaints about it so far! January 9, 2012
Husband loves it! I ordered this for my husband for his birthday and now that the cold weather is here, he absolutely loves it. It's extremely warm, very well made and many of his male friends compliment him on his coat. Highly recommned! December 29, 2011
Great Jacket I was waiting for a bus 2 AM in the morning and the jacket kept me really warm in temperature of 25F. Also, I like the design of chest pocket. Overall I would recommend this jacket. However, it runs large. I normally wear size XL but I had to return it for a size down. December 21, 2011
The warmth of down with the marshmallow look The warmth and comfort of this jacket makes me glad I finally got off the fence and ordered it. Very warm without the puffy marshmallow look of other down filled coats. I've only had it a short while but already gotten plenty of compliments. Ordered a Medium to fit my 5'10" 155lbs frame and it leaves me with plenty of room underneath to wear additional layers if it ever gets cold enough to need them. I wasn't sure how I'd like the 'Rib knit collar and cuffs' but they are very soft and comfortable and my neck and wrists. The one downside is that it only has four pockets (two handwarmer, one inside and one outer chest). There isn't a second internal MP3 pocket like the description describes and the video shows. Taking it to Utah on a snowboarding trip to wear around town and I expect to stay plenty warm. December 18, 2011
Looks cool and keep you warm I'm living in Michigan and need really a warm but not bulky jacket. This one is it. Only the reason why I had to return it is little tight for me especially its armhole was small for me. If you are slim or not well built this is the one you may love during the cold winter. December 18, 2011
Very warm coat without all the puff A very warm coat without the usual puffy look of other down jackets. I am not experiencing the lack of insulation in the arms that others are reporting. Went with a Medium for my 5'10" 155lbs frame and have enough room underneath to layer if it ever gets cold enough here to need it along with the coat. I do wish it had one more pocket beyond the four it does have (two hand warmer, one small outside chest, one inside). Definitely glad I finally got off the fence and ordered it. As always Altrec delivered it quickly for free. December 14, 2011
LOVE IT. Best jacket I had, vary warm and light weight, good sizes hand warmer pockets.perfect for walking on the streets at NYC.two inches shorter would be better. December 5, 2011
great allround coat Commute to work in Minnesota, this coat gives the warmth for bike rides in MN winter, subzero, plenty warm also when walking. Maybe not quite what you need when you go winter mountaineering, but anything else, this will be plenty warm. Good length also for work environment. Some of the inner pockets could be larger, pockets for hands have good size though. Hood fits well without obstructing view. Only downside, had to discover that 3 colleagues were wearing the same coat... November 24, 2011
