Description

Designed to dominate demanding activity the Mountain Hardware Effusion Power Jacket for men is breathable, water resistant and wind proof while providing soft stretch and mobility. Three-layered polyester jersey uses lightweight Dry.Q Active™ that repels water and remains flexible for performance in less than perfect weather and, constructed using Micro Climate Zoning™, knit panels are strategically placed to increase breathability. Finished off with a DWR (durable water repellant) coating this light men’s jacket refuses to yield to rain allowing you to keep up the workout routine through storm fronts. Luvin' this jacket
September 03, 2012

Bought the Effusion about 2 weeks ago, and I think I've put it on almost every day since. The fit is trim, and I am between a MH medium and large, but for layering purposes I went with the medium. This fabric truly feels comfortable next-to-skin, unlike some previous MH jackets. I like the high collar, as well as the thumb loop at the sleeve. It does really well with the wind, as tested as an underlayer while going about 50 mph on my Vespa. Super-light in weight. Only has one small pocket. I live near the ocean, so I almost always need a layer for the fog, this is the perfect light layer. Very good also for aerobic type workouts like running, hiking, etc.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Cons: Cost

Good cold weather running jacket
January 02, 2012

This jacket has been good for cold weather running in Chicago. I ran for an hour in about 25F degrees yesterday and was comfortable the whole time. The chest pocket holds an iPhone nicely without bounce -- perfect for Bluetooth cordless headphones.

Good Cool Weather Running Jacket
November 13, 2011

I bought this jacket for running in temps below 45 degrees. I am 5'10" and about 155 pounds. I bought a large. So far i have been running in the jacket in temps 32-45 degrees. The fit is tight but not uncomfortable. The fabric is very light and stretchy. Noticeably absent are any side pockets for gloves or headband (though it does have a chest pocket and half-glove cuff sleeves). It feels cool and light to start, but once you are running it is incredibly breathable and warm. Just ran on some windier mornings and noticed that it has good wind protection in the front of the jacket. I have enjoyed wearing it and look forward to testing it below 30 degrees and in the rain.

Comfortable, light weight, and dry
October 14, 2011

Was very excited to try MH's new DryQ tech, especially in the form of a light weight running jacket. Have only used it a few times so far, but was very impressed with the Effusion's ability to shed a light rain on the outside while keeping me from over heating on the inside. The jacket is form fitting, but never snug, and really feels streamlined while out and about.

Great athletic jacket
April 28, 2012

I picked this up mostly for wind protection while cycling in sub 50 degree weather and for occasional running/hiking activity. This jacket is perfect for those purposes - it blocks wind very well . The fit is trim but not tight. Materials and build are top notch. Highly recommended.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use
