Description

Worthy of epic conditions in the backcountry and on the ski slopes, the Mountain Hardwear Men's Epic Gloves provide waterproof protection and are thin enough to operate your GPS without taking them off. The shell is made from lightweight yet durable Conduit™ Silk nylon and bonded to an OutDry® membrane that will keep water out and let your hands breathe, offering a warm, dry interior no matter how much you sweat. An articulated cut, seamless finger tips and a grippy synthetic palm give you dexterity. Lined with soft, brushed polyester that feels cozy against your skin, these are thin mountain gloves with no insulation so you'll need to wear liners in really cold conditions. A Velcro wrist closure seals out cold wind and snow. From a fall backpacking trip in the rainy North Cascades to a beautiful bluebird day at Whistler, the Mountain Hardwear Epic Gloves for men are as adaptable as you are.

Men's Epic Glove 4.4 5 17 17
Very waterproof I took the Epic gloves to the Adirondacks for a snowboard trip in January. These gloves performed fantastic in the 0 - 20 degree weather. However I would recommend wearing a glove liner for temps colder than that. They also kept my hands nice and dry all day. I would def recommend to anyone. February 5, 2012
Awesome gloves! Received the gloves quickly. The quality and comfort of the gloves feel wonderful. Use the gloves to x-country ski and when cold. Would highly recommend to anyone. February 4, 2012
Good gloves I purchased these gloves for winter hiking and they have performed well. I usually use trekking poles and generally wear out gloves quickly, but the epic gloves have held up well. Not overly warm but fine for my needs. The medium's fit my smallish male hands and the cut is trim without being constricting. My only complaint is the lack of soft strip to wipe my nose. Waterproof is nice, and haven't had any issue with overheating or sweaty hands. March 2, 2011
Recommended, but... They do little to keep my hands warm except that they keep them dry and that keeps them from getting cold longer than gloves that get wet. Since they fit nicely, there isn't enough room to also fit a liner underneath them. February 23, 2011
Great All-Around Gloves These have become my go-to gloves since purchasing them here. Because they are totally water-proof and warm down to temps in the hi 20s, these are my favorite gloves for fall & spring backpacking in the Sierras. Perfect protection for hiking in cold rain or wet snow. I also use my Epic gloves for snowshoeing & nordic skiing on cool, wet days. Typical Mountain Hardwear quality and durability, which makes the price well worth it. Nice fit and good dexterity too. Very versatile backcountry glove for mild-cold wet conditions! January 23, 2011
Awesome glove, It could protect me from bad weather, It has a high quality and better than I thought, many features in it: waterproof ,breathable and durable. I don't worry about my hands in such a cold winter since got it. Next week I prepare to go skiing with it. January 12, 2011
Great lightweight glove Though it hasn't been fully tested (in the backcountry), it did not disappoint during multiple snowball packings over the holidays. It is nearly a true to size fit, perhaps a tad small depending on the hand. I usually wear a large comfortably, but this is a little snug (which is ok for my purposes). A great lightweight waterproof glove - something I've never had until now. January 5, 2011
Great water proof gloves I needed waterproof gloves for wet, cool/cold, damp weather so I didn't want real thick "hot" gloves. These were perfect. Lightweight yet durable and pretty flexible. Size was accurate - I always wear a Large and these fit perfectly. For real cold weather you would need something warmer but if you need something for cool and wet, these are perfect - they kept my hands perfectly dry in a driving rain. I've always had good luck with Mountain Hard Wear. I'll keep buying their products. January 3, 2011
Great Gloves These are great gloves. I have worn them in the rain as well as snow. They do not make your hands clammy or sweaty as opposed to some others I have tried. I feel like they are going to last a long time provided I take care of them. Have recommended these gloves to several family members who are in the armed forces. December 30, 2010
Men's Epic mountain hard gloves The ordering online was easy and timely delivery of these gloves was very good. They fit my son well. However, the picture of the gloves online and the description did not live up to the actual quality of the gloves. My son lives in Minneapolis where it is 7 degrees F and below these days. These gloves are simply not nearly warm enough. He has to wear two pairs of other gloves underneath these to keep his hands warm enough! I am very disappointed with these gloves. As mentioned, the picture of the gloves makes them look thick and warm looking. I think the description should include that these gloves are not insulated and not suitable for extremely cold weather. December 27, 2010
Excellent LW Waterproof Gloves The MH Epic gloves are the best lightweight (LW) waterproof breathable gloves I could find. They are not cheap, but they are excellent. I am surprised at how thin the gloves are, and I suspect I'll need a liner glove in colder conditions, but for my purposes (cold and wet weather biking and backpacking) that is better. I don't like a thick, insulated ski type glove for these purposes because I find it too difficult to hold poles, adjust layers, avoid overheating, grab rocks, etc. I compared these to the Rab Latok gloves, which I returned upon getting these. The Latok is a closer fitting glove more well suited to tool use and mountaineering. This glove seems like it will be more durable, though the fit is a bit looser and the palm is probably going to be less grippy. For a general outdoor use glove, I think these can't be beat if you require water and windproof. Big demerit though for no soft material on the thumb for a nosewipe. December 14, 2010
Excellent above 20 degrees F These are excellent totally WATERPROOF gloves useful for when the temp is above 20 deg F, if not slightly warmer. I've worn them with nice Mtn Hardware fleece liners below 20 but still found them cold. The gloves are not marketed as cold weather gear so there is no deduction in points from me. The build quality and dexterity is superb. I wear them biking on rain days (I commute by bike). They are light and pack nicely. December 12, 2010
Excellent Gloves This was my second pair of theses gloves. I am a contractor and am outside all winter long. These gloves are the perfect balance of weight and warmth. They block out moisture and wind also.. Excellent for everyday use and extremely durable!! December 8, 2010
Very good spring skiing gloves. I bought these gloves and used them for spring skiing this season. They are very waterproof, windproof, and have very little insulation making them almost perfect for late season skiing. My only complaint is with the gauntlet. I wish it was a little longer and bigger around as it is a tight fit over my shell at the wrist. All in all, I'm happy with the gloves and would buy them again. March 29, 2010
Excellent waterproof lightweight glove. I purchased this glove to have a lot of dexterity to put my split board together. This glove is lightweight, wind proof, and water proof. If you need a glove to keep your hands dry when pushing snow around and not make your hands sweaty on the inside of your gloves, this is the glove for you. Also seems durable, so far. February 22, 2010
Great Glove... I Want Another Pair. Great glove. Fully waterproof... at least no leaking yet. The Mountain Hardwear quality, I've come to trust, is evident. The other reviews are right about the temperature this glove preforms in... there is nothing for insulation inside; except for a felt liner... witch is partially the reason i bought this glove. I use a Mountain Hardwear liner glove under the Epic glove and the fit is perfect and provides the insulation i need. I had no need to go a size up. This way i can regulate the temperature of my hand. I rate the gloves as 20+/- degrees with the liner inside. I need to buy a pair for my wife. January 17, 2010
Good 3 Seasons Waterproof I like the gloves a lot, this is the second pair I bought, after losing 1 glove walking the dog in the spring. The grip is great. I would use heavier gloves below 45 degrees I think. October 20, 2009
