Men's Epic Jacket 4 5 3 3
Great functional jacket - only one minor issue I took this jacket out for the first time on a backpacking weekend along the Manistee River Trail loop in the Northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan. It was cool and windy weather in early October. It is a shell so there isn't a whole lot of insulative qualities of the jacket but it did fine with a long-sleeve moisture wicking shirt underneath it. The second day of my trip it earned its chops as the weather included 20 mph wind gusts and what I can be best described as "sideways" rain. The cinched hood kept my head dry despite the horizontal rain sheets. My trusty sidekick, Slate, who is a water loving lab for the most part, even began to look longingly at my jacket after a 4 hour hike. My only issue with the jacket, and admittedly I am vain to some extent, is the internal cords for cinching the hood. When I first put the jacket on it looked like I had antennae coming out of my upper chest. The material is such that they don't just lie against your frame; they pop out. I was able to modify that look by pulling on the opposite side so that the only thing sticking out of the holes were the tips. The remainder of the cords were then hidden under the "collars" of the jacket. It really bugged me, no pun intended when I first go it, but with that minor fix and the overall functionality of the jacket, utility is more important to me than vanity. So I'd recommend it to others. October 18, 2011

Fits a bit bigger/baggier than typical MH gear, but high quality stuff. Only owned for a few weeks, so I cant speak to the durability of the jacket, but it does what it is supposed to. Keeps water out. Breathes well. September 26, 2011
