In place of all the bells and whistles one usually finds on waterproof ski pants, the Mountain Hardware Men's Epic Pant is built for one simple reason, to provide protection on go-light, go-fast backcountry trips. Multiple pockets, side zips, and belt loops are not found on the Epic Pant, but the Conduit™ Silk coating provides an all important waterproof barrier that breathes and feels smooth and dry against bare skin or a base layer. Articulated knees keep you striding in comfort as you push on through rain, snow, or sleet to reach your next camp.

Purchased these pants along with the MH Epic Jacket after spending a camping weekend in the rain w/o a decent set of waterproof garments.
The pants fit me fine. I'm 5'9", 180, and the large is just a tiny bit long in the waist and a little long in the legs but I'm pretty sure the medium would be too small.
The waist is more comfortable (doesn't bunch up or sag) and there is plenty of legroom. Perhaps a bit too much legroom as the pants feel a bit too wide but should be perfect with a pair of tights or something under them.
I haven't had the pants out in the rain to test them but if they perform as well as the Epic Jacket I have I'm sure I'll be happy with them.

Right after I purchased these pants it was pouring down rain here in Georgia, but when I had these pants on I was totally dry. They're better than the description gives them credit, & I love the full leg zipper for it makes it easy to get them on on over other clothing. Thank you.

I purchased the Epic pants to accompany the Epic jacket. What a great combination for any kind of inclement weather. These pants are light weight and have good adustments for perfect fit. I've found the Epic pants to be awesome for hiking and fishing. I can't imagine better foul weather gear.

I ordered the Men's Small because as a tall woman I needed the length. The Epic pants were still a bit too short so consider length when selecting a size. Performance is excellent. Overall comfort is great too.

These pants are great at doing what they are designed to do, keep you legs dry. They are also comfortable to wear and to walk around in. These pants have no extra bulk so they are ideal for cramming into a pack just in case you might need them. My only complaint is that there is no drawstring or internal belt. If you are thin then they do not fit very tight in the waist- they don't fall down but I would like them to be a little more secure.

These pants are excellent if you want to stay dry. I took these out into the Adirondacks on a four day bushwacking hike, and they withstood the whipping branches as well as a good deal of downpours. Would recommend for anyone who is interested in very dry, light pants. Only problem I saw was that these pants have no pockets, but that's a minor aesthetic issue. Besides that, these

Very lightweight and packable...long zippers make venting easy, elastic waist and built in belt are comfortable and easy to adjust. Stetch panels allow for excellent freedom of movement as well.

These pants are so light, you can throw them in your pack without a second thought. The Conduit Silk feels a bit clammy, but not unlike the Marmot Precip fabric. My only concern would be durability, but that remains to be seen

Great pant for moderate to heavy spring/fall northeast downpours. They are breathable according to the label and were very comfortable below 70 degrees. Above 70 they are a bit warm and build moisture. But hey they aint summer pants and not supposed to be and for 95 bucks I stayed dry all day and we covered about 11 miles in the pouring rain. My arcteryx jacket,montrail boots and rei gaitors along with these pants kept my butt drier than all my buddies and some of them had over 1000.00 on their backs. My jacket was 189.00 on clearance right here in your gear store. Boots 150.00 and pants 95.00. Gators were about 40 bucks along with my calapeine undies I was coola nd dry all day.

Great looking pants. Big fan of Mountain Hardware. Like the knees with stretchable material. Pros-Absolutley waterproof (for 95 bones they best be) great looking, great venting, comfortable-breathable. My biggest con is the leg zippers always snag on fabric. I heat up a lot, like to zip open legs when the weather breaks to cool down. Hate to have to stop and screw around unsnagging zippers.

I received the Epic pants with the jacket, my only complaint is the waist of the pants has no zipper so you must squeeze into them. I am 5' 6" and weigh 170 lb with a 32 in waist. I ordered a medium due to the length. The zippered legs is a good idea lets you open them all the way up for ventilation and to pull on over large boots, but as stated before it is a squeeze to get them on.
