perfect for me
March 14, 2010
I bought this particular jacket because I travel all the time and wanted something lightweight, stow able and waterproof. The finish on the jacket is fantastic soft, supple and luxurious, very comfortable. I have worn it in the rain a couple of times and my only complaint is there is no hood.
Great Setup/Material - But what's up with the length?
January 15, 2010
When I first saw this jacket in a retail store I thought it was perfect. Exactly what I needed in a shell - pockets, adjustments, material. They didn't have my size so I got it though Altrec (great experience by the way). Unfortunately, the thing is unusually short in the front. I have another two MH jackets in the same size, similar cut, but this one is an inch-and-a-half shorter! I would advise going a size up maybe.
GREAT WATERPROOF LIGHTWEIGHT JACKET

Nice Looking Jacket - Snug fit, a bit short on the waist, and

definitely not as warm as my Columnbia Titanium fleece. I live in Calgary, Alberta and temperature here in the Great White North can fluctuate from -30C to +15C in one day! I read lots of reviews about the G50 from other places before committing to buying this gorgeous looking jacket. People were saying how warm this jacket was and I thought I could replace my Titanium fleece with this one. No way! With the Titanium fleece, I can go out with a layered system down to -15C to -20C. I was feeling a bit chilly with the G50 at around -5C (I'm metric so you'll need to convert to Farenheit). Anyway, I guess this will be my spring, summer, and fall jacket while my Titanium fleece lives for a few more years of abuse. What I like about the G50 is that it looks awesome on a nice looking body : ). It's a good quality jacket and I definitely like having more pockets, which was somewhat missing on my Titanium fleece. The only other thing that I wished the G50 could have are the arm pit zips. I guess I will test to see how breathable this softshell is when I start riding my bike again in the spring. : )
Great Jacket for My On-The-Go Husband
April 01, 2010
Thanks Altrec, We received my husbands jacket last week and he loves it. It is light weight but warm and perfect for living in the mountains of N.C.. He will really get a lot of use out of that jacket, and that makes me happy.

Men's G50 Jacket
April 24, 2012
The jacket was very comfortable and light weight. It fits me well for a city outdoor. It is fairly short so I recommend one size larger than what you usually wear. I love the feel of the hardshell, very smooth and cool. The inner liner is great and it definitely can keep you warm in the fall weather.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Cons: Cost

I'm so glad I made this purchase. The G50 goes with me most of the time. Light, DWR, and great with a layering system. With a bargain bin base layer and a 100 wt fleece this jacket layers up for very cold conditions (12-19 degrees F). Snow and light rain are no match either. I've been very pleased with my mountain hardwear gear.
Awesome soft shell for all conditons
January 17, 2007
Got this jacket for Christmas and have use it multiple times already for hiking and mountain biking. The weight is perfect and is not too much that you cant take it off and stash it in your pack when conditons or temps improve. Mountain Hardwear gear has never let me down and this jacket is no exception.
Unbeatable Jacket especially for the price
August 26, 2007
This jacket is lighter and warmer than the Gamma MX (not to mention cheaper). It provides a great range of motion, is virtually waterproof, and is extremely durable.
