Too shiny!
September 10, 2009

My husband has the non hooded version of this jacket in last year's model and I can't stop wearing it. This one, however, was WAY TOO SHINY! I think this is one of the nicest down jackets on the market, super warm, super slim, super cozy and comfy and absolutely the best to wear....I just couldn't take the shine.

Overall perfect with one little flaw.....

The jacket fits great, great use of materials, very warm, lightweight, well designed, etc. The price is fantastic for what you are getting. Overall well designed with the exception that the hood should have been designed as a three-way hood, i.e. a draw string around the back to sinch it down to prevent the hood from moving left to right and impeding your view when turning your head. I am 5'11" and 190lbs with athletic build, and the large fits me like a glove.

Perfect Down Jacket!
December 14, 2012

We bought this jacket for our son for his NOLS semester in the Rockies last spring. He wore it non-stop for 3 months of backpacking, river rafting, horseback riding and canyoning. I don't think he ever took it off! He's still wearing it now out in Wyoming--almost a year of non-stop wear. The jacket is so lightweight that it's perfect as either a mid-layer or a top layer for perfect, lightweight warmth when it's cold. He's even worn it snowboarding. The goose down is perfect because it allows your core body temperature to adjust the needed heat from the down insulation. The hood makes a hat unnecessary. Mountain Hardwear makes top quality backcountry gear. We actually just bought another one for another son this year. Do not hesitate to buy this jacket--and remember, it is recommended as essential gear by the number one Outdoor Educator in the world, NOLS. Get it--you wont' regret it!

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, very lightweight, compresses easily for packing, super comfortable, very warm
