Very comfortable but would have liked a stretch fabric as I have purchased in other MH products. The fit is true to size. I like the thigh side pocket for access while sitting or squatting. Built in belt is also helpful, but can get twisted easily.
Pros: Build quality, PerformanceDid not fit as good as the Piero

Seems like a nice pant but it sure did not fit as well as the Peiro pant by Mountain Hardwear. Especially the thigh area seemed very loose, I like the material.
Nice 1

This pants is true to it's size & dries up quickly. But there's no zipper on the side(ankle portion), not like in the picture shown in this site. Overall, it's really a NICE pair of hiking/travelling pants.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of useGood pants

I got these for travel to Africa and no doubt they will work fine. My only complaints are stylistic in nature. The legs taper in a bit and the front pockets are really in the front and not on the side so sitting can stab you with what is up front. Otherwise they seem to run true to size and like most MH stuff are well made.
Pros: Build quality, Great valueSuperb Pants

These pants just plain rock! Solid performance on tough movie film sets while wearing a Steadicam®, which adds up to 85 pounds to my body, means this design and execution was just right.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of useThumbs Up!

The mesa pants are exactly what I hoped they would be - comfortable, breathable and good looking. I have not used them for rugged hiking yet, although they have been good companions on urban exploration. The black color is about perfect for outdoor use as we as for casual wear. The only thing that stopped me from giving them a a five star rating is the top of the fly to the waist band (belt area) is a little funky, like the zipper should go a little higher or something. That being said, I would buy again and just might buy a 2nd pair in black because it is hard to find great outdoor pants/shorts in black and these are good.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, PerformanceComfortable and Utilitarian

I am 6' 1" tall and weigh 170 pounds. I bought medium size and they fit me perfectly. The pants are very lightweight. The Mountain Hardware inside lined waist is a nice touch and makes the pants very comfortable to wear. I have not had them long enough to judge durability. Overall am happy with this purchase and will buy additional pairs when needed.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, PerformanceAnother Winner

I haven't worn these on the trail yet but they're nicely detailed, typical of MHW clothing lines (articulated knees, built-in belt, etc). My long-time favorite for general travel is still the Canyon pants for its utility, comfort and clean lines but this pair would definitely serve better for backpacking with its waist area lined with micro-Chammy and cargo pockets placed to accommodate pack belts. Made from the same Canyon cloth, it's quick drying and also suitable for hot climates. As far as durability, they probably won't match the old Pack pants and its heavier fabric; but I also have Canyon pants that are more than 5 years old. I expect these to perform similarly.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueComfortable pants

Love these pants. Comfortable an light weight, excellent for warmer environments. My only gripe is the belt. I wish it was a little bit thicker and wider - it's already "rolled" in the waist. It's not uncomfortable; I just think it could be better.
Pros: Great design, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueMountain Hardwear

They are true to size as well as inseam length. Fit very well and are extremely comfortable and durable. They provide air for your legs and work well in lukewarm environments.

I recently purchased several pairs of these pants for a trip to Europe. I bought these particular pants because I found that Mountain Hardwear's jackets are very high quality and my all time favorite travel pants (by ExOfficio) are no longer being made. My overall impression from my travel experience is that these pants are very comfortable and seem of fine quality. They are well made and come in basic, easily matched colors. The inner lining of the waistband is made of an extra soft fabric which feels great even after wearing for several hours on a long walk/hike. The pants also come with a belt which looks integral to the pants as it is mainly covered with material - a nice touch. I can't speak to the durability after such a short period of ownership, but the pants material and stitching look as though they can hold up. Two items to consider before purchasing though: First, the waist runs small, like an athletic or slim profile. Second, the pocket placement and design is rather curious. MH designed the pockets to run literally around the waist from the front to rear using one opening that is divided into two pockets. This looks sleak and is easy enough to get into, however there is no closure on the top of the pockets. When traveling the fact that your pockets are not velcroed, zipped and buttoned closed can be discomfiting. This was not a problem for me as I kept valuables in a hidden waist pouch, but just be aware of this design choice. Actually for trail use I can see this design to be quite a good thing as the pockets could be very easily accessed. Overall a very good product that I would recommend purchasing.
Pros: Build quality, PerformanceGreat Fit

These pants are quality, did not stretch out, and stayed in place during hiking with a backpack. The fit is true to size and the waist band is soft, comfortable, and does not rub. I also liked the slim pockets on the new model of the Mesa pant, in contrast to baggy pockets in previous models.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, PerformanceMH Mesa pant 2011

I would have a reservation recommending this model, compared to the previous year Mesa pants. The fit is not true to size -a 32 is more like 34-36 and baggy. Also, they removed the cargo pockets, losing some of the utility of the pant. Otherwise, they are comfortable and repel water really well, but this is just a downgrade, rather than upgrade of the 2010 model. Personally, I would not buy this model again.
Pros: Build qualityDecent pair

Found these Mesa pants as expected..bit tight around the thighs otherwise fits well.Have used them for light day hikes ,it withstood all that trail had to throw at it. splashed around in streams and it did dry up quickly as advertised.Planning to use them as a base layer when i go hiking in high altitudes soon.
Pros: Build quality, Great value
