MicroChill'in
October 22, 2010

I took the advice from another review to buy a size up. I'm 6'1" and 206 lbs. and purchased a XXL instead of an XL. The fit was perfect for me. It's warm and lightweight. It looks good on it's own and is a perfect midlayer for my Mountain Hardwear Exposure II Parka. When I'm ready to shed a layer it fits easily in my backpack. I would definitely recommend this product.

Pros: Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value

Nice job Mountain Hardwear
March 03, 2010

Just returned from Co.Micro Chill is great for those days when a lot of layering is not required.Athletic fit and nice and comfy.

Great base layer
February 23, 2010

This is my second of these shirts to purchase over the last four years, and I'm about to buy a third. I love these, they are amazing.

Great for hiking just the right weight. Very good quality. Looks good for a night out.

Happy with this one
December 21, 2010

This zip t was bought for use as an insulating layer. It is early (haven't had it long) but it is very comfortable and the fit is great. It isn't too large to cause problems under a shell or heavy coat. It was perfect for layering under a loose fitting jersey. It helped keep me warm in a winter prep campout. It's also very good to wear alone. I'm a 6'0" 200 lb gym regular and the large fits me very well. I look forward to using it much more. On top of that, the cost was at least as good as similar garments I've found.

excellent for around a cold house
December 06, 2010

I originally bought this for outdoor activity, but it has found its way into my household layer in a cold older home. Very comfortable.

Great basic pullover
January 09, 2010

I bought this for my boyfriend and he loves it. It looks very good, it's lightweight yet warm, and the fleece is super soft. Good for layering too!

Super comfortable
December 09, 2005

Super comfortable worn as shirt or layered.Saphire and black looks great.zippered pocket comes in handy.

A great casual fleece or active layer
February 12, 2008

This was my first Mountain Hardwear fleece. It didn't disappoint. It is well constructed like all my Mountain Hardwear gear. It fits well and is cut trim to fit well under a softshell. It is relatively warm, but its lightweight fleece isn't made for extreme warmth. I feel comfortable walking around in it and an outer shell in 0-10 degree F temperatures.

Great base layer for non windy days
January 14, 2007

Fit and cut is better this year, but still trim...comfortable. I wear these all the time...live in SO CAL mountains...so it's not all that cold.

My favorite shirt
January 03, 2010

I have two of these shirts, and I wear them all the time. Perfect for outdoor activities - as a layer or by itself - and cool enough to wear inside as well.

Love it!!! Keep buying them in additional colours
June 25, 2009

Have 4 of them now. My best friend keeps "borrowing" them, she loves them so much too. Make a great light warm layer. Always keep one in my dry bag on my kayak. Neck is short enough to stay out of the neck gasket on my dry top. Another popular brand of a TKA 100 fleece has a neck collar too high to wear under dry tops/ splash tops. Just cannot say enough good about this fleece!!!!

Very versatile
May 19, 2007

For its fit trim it can be used as a base layer or, as a sweater over a base layer. Works very well with MH vest and MH wind stopper jacket. I use it in all four seasons; camping, canoing, skiing (alpine and cross country).

January 03, 2012

I wouldn't say this is the best fleece I've owned, but for the price it stands up to its job. It's Super soft and really warm. The collar lays flat, so it doesn't rub. The fleece is Versatile, comfortable, and looks great no matter how many times it goes through the wash. It's all the warmth without the bulk.

Just a liitle warmth
November 12, 2007

I bought this as a gift. He loved how it added just enough extra warmth to make him feel comfortable and not too hot. It didn't take up to much room in his pack while he was out hiking. Overall his was very satisfied with this shirt.

Very Nice!
January 09, 2010

Comfy and nicely made. The one I received (Grill on sale) is slightly different from the one pictured on the Web site--sleeve cuff and zipper shape are different. Also there is no Polartec tag, so I take it this might be an older model before MH used Polartec Classic 100 to make what they call their Arctic 100 fleece. So I don't know how the fleece will hold up in terms of pilling and color, or whether it will wrinkle, as some cheaper fleece materials tend to do.

Great weight fleece!
December 29, 2011

I bought two of these Micro Chill fleece tops, red and blue. The size is right on and the fleece is medium in warmth and thickness. Very good looking....love the colors... sleeve and overall size is cut well.

Annual Upgrade
December 25, 2011

This is the 3rd Micro Chill Zip Tee I've purchased over the years. Mountain Hardware modifies the design annually, so I have 3 variations all in black. My original is showing its age with wear at the elbows & at least one minor burn from a camp fire in the distant past, but it remains a favorite. The current design also promises to be a favorite with contrasting stitching, clean lines & the return to the text version of the Mountain Hardware logo. The fleece fabric is ultra soft & all day long comfortable. This is a top that falls into the way cool category.

Nice fleece
March 17, 2009

I've worn this non-stop since I purchased it. It's a nice light fleece, perfect for outside adventure on a nice Saturday. The construction is good. When I first purchased I got a Medium and it was a little more snug than I wanted, so I exchanged for a Large and worked perfect.

Great quality zip fleece
February 23, 2012

Really great quality for a Polartec 100 level fleece, great cut, sizing, well placed seams, and zipper goes down quite a ways for ventilation. Terrific quality all around. MH does run true to size and is sized for slimmer body types, works great for me.

After a year
November 28, 2009

After a year I still wear this piece. It's simple and warm. It can be worn on the bar or on the trail.

great alternative to bulky fleece
April 26, 2010

i bought this as a midlayer backpacking piece and general midweight fleece... it worked out pretty good... not quite as compressible as I'd like but packs really well, super soft and quite warm! definitely happy with the purchase and will wear it often! the fit is cut pretty tight but that works pretty good for layering! I am 5-9 150 pounds and the size small is a nice fit but would probably go with medium if just for normal urban wear.

good stuff
November 30, 2008

great fit- semi-fitted. very soft. Great for under a shell for skiing or alone in 40 degrees.

Excellant Zip T
November 23, 2009

I've worn this now for about a month andit is the perfect ligthweight or layering fleece. The fit is pure and it not too tight or too loose. I am in and out of hockey rinks all fall and winter and so far this is a great item to wear under my team jacket.

good light weight fleece
February 23, 2012

this is a lightweight material, good for as a layer, not bulky and it is well put together. It fits as its designed, a mid layer fleece. I got it to wear in a cold office and it does the job. Warm but lightweight. Looks good too. Mine is red. I have not had it long enough to judge its durability but I favor mountain hardware for its quality. I have no worries.

Pros: Build quality

Good shirt great color(Rust)
January 04, 2007

I have been very satisfied with the Mountain Hardwear clothing I have purchased. This one is no exception. Sizing is about right, if a large is often snug then you may want to go up a size. I defintely think the rust color is the way to go and not easy to get.

Great layering item

Light weight but still warm. Excellent shirt when used with a next to skin baselayer. Built to the high standards of Mountain Hardwear quality.

Mountain Hardwear Micro Chill Zip T
June 06, 2006

The Mountain Hardwear Micro Chill Zip T is a perfect piece for all around use. This 100 weight fleece pullover breathes very well. I used it on a fast hike , and I didn't get chilled. All Mountain hardwear pullover fleeces are very well made.

Very versatile
February 04, 2008

I like the design, the color and the extreme light weight of this sweater. Although not very warm but its light weight makes it a great standby gear for unexpected weather - When the weather is colder-than-expected, just add this as extra layer; When it's warmer-than-expected, just take away your thick sweater and put this on. Great product from MH!

Bought this to wear around the house and office during the winter. It's really comfortable, and the right level of warmth when it's really cold outside and a bit drafty inside. Too warm for me at normal room temperatures. Does make a great base layer or Spring/Fall day sweater.

Perfect mid layer
July 13, 2010

I purchased this for use as a lightweight mid layer fleece to be used either alone or under a hard shell on windy/rainy days. It's absolutely perfect for that use. The medium weighs in at only 8oz, making it ideal for stashing in my backpack until I need it. The fit is athletic/trim so it fits nicely under a shell without adding any additional bulk. It also seems to be quite warm for the weight. I definitely give this fleece two thumbs up.

Love these for work during the winter
February 11, 2010

I have 4 of these. Fit is perfect, (size Large - I have 35 1/2 inch sleeve length), these are warm and stylish enough for work. This is my go-to shirt when the mercury dips. Great mid-layer for snowshoeing or X-Country skiing!!! Would definitely recommend these to anyone.

this is warm
May 13, 2009

This thing is really warm. It has to be used under a wind breaker or rain jacket because it isn't water or wind proof. But it is light, soft, and simple, totally amazing. Cool design as anything Mountain Hardwear does. The low price is a joke for this high quality fleece. Strongly recommended!

Incredible shirt
November 06, 2009

This is one of the most comfortable pieces of clothing I own. Perfect to keep warm on chilly days when a jacket would be too much. I'm 6'0", 165 lbs and the large will allow me to layer underneath this if necessary. I will definitely order a couple more if I can find them in my size.
