I've had my windstopper tech jacket now for 3 weeks and I love it. In that time we've experienced everything from blizzards, freezing rain, sub zero temps and gale force winds. Not to mention two days of temps in the 50's and 60's. The tech jacket performed exceedingly well in all categories. When I first got it, I was surprised at how thin the whole thing was. I was thinking there is no way this is going to be keeping me as warm as the other reviews have said. I won't lie, I've gotten chilled in this jacket, but thats only when I've got a thin dress shirt and tie on... or just a t-shirt underneath and it's single digits or lower outside. Anytime that I've ventured into the elements for planned and extended periods of time (hiking, snowboarding.. shoveling the driveway) a simple layer of poly-pro and a t-shirt underneath was all I needed to stay toasty throughout my day. This is an amazing product and if it should ever wear out I definitely will be buying another. additionally.. I was a North Face person before I got this jacket. I think from now on I'll be looking at Mountain Hardwear a little closer before my next outdoor clothing purchase.

Light weight jacket that performs in variety of conditions. Fits body nicely I’m 6-4 and the XL is just big enough. Not a lot of extra room, but that’s what I like. Great for a winter hike. Not warm enough for extreme winter conditions.

MH doesn't make a very similar version for women so I bit the bullet and bought a small men's windstopper and I am not disappointed although naturally the sleeves are a bit long. It beats the NF Denali hand over fist. I will never go back to plain fleece without the windstopper fabrics- I can wear this jacket with a light base layer on winter mountain treks without being weighed down and/or uncomfortably bulky. This jacket minimizes the need to peel off layers (and carry them which takes up space in a pack) due to getting too hot with heavier fabrics/insulation.My only regret is that MH doesn't make a women's version that is exactly the same- that ridiculous MH monkey fleece jacket is bulky and silly looking and doesn't stop wind in its tracks.

This jacket is great. I have been wearing it over my Mountain Hardwear Wicked Ts in cold weather and am very comfortable. I'm ususally a large, but got the extra large for more shoulder room.

This is actually my second jacket and my ever first order made from Altrec. I used this jacket in cold areas such as Northern India, rainy days in Vietnam and Manila where the night temperature could drop quite drastically. I was always protected with sufficient warmth, even though these places are renowned for hotter climate, this jacket really breathes and it does not give me too much discomfort when I wore them in the day time. Moreover, I am a very practical and functional person that love to carry various small handheld gadgets, the pockets support me with sufficient space with adequate security, allow me to move freely with ease. Comfort level was not compromise for the added WINDSTOPPER® membrane underneath, I do not feel a burden to put on and colours are really attractive and eye -catchy too. I owned a Rattler model and now I add on with a Red/Black model in my wardrobe. May consider a Blue one in future as I love to switch colours whenever I travel. To add on to my whole Mountain Hardware arsenal , I have existing 3 units of MHW windstopper vests (Charcoal, blue and black), similar to the jacket (without sleeves), and they work exactly the same. Looks pretty smart and functional too. Now, I carry a MHW vest and a jacket wherever I travel, not too heavy and a choice to switch wardrobe "ON-THE-GO".

A staple of my "wardrobe" use it as an outer jacket in the autumn and as a layer when it gets cold.highly recommended

I was looking for a warm, windproof, technical fleece. The sleeves are not loose enough at the shoulder so when I reach overhead (medium size, 34 inch arms for me) the sleeves are too short. The shoulders fit okay, but the lower body is a bit large and loose. Otherewise great construction. Wish it fit a bit better though.

The Mountain Hardware Mountain Tech Jacket was the jacket I decided upon after trying several other fleece jackets. I tried regular non wind proof fleece and they are great for breathability and what not, but they fall apart and wear out like crazy. What appeals to me about this jacket is that it is very well crafted with high quality fibers and the places where the pack rubs on my shoulders is totally "backpack strap wear" proof. The pit zips are a super plus. I have not gotten to try this jacket out in the field but I must say that I look forward to it. It fits absolutely perfect. I wear a small and it still gives just a little room for a thin layer underneath if it happens to be a little colder than expected. Also, the wrist closures have been changed from previous models, and they are great. There is this elastic stuff that closes the arms by the wrists. It is a huge improvement over the older model. Great jacket!

I put on this jacket 3 ~ 4 days for last two weeks. I really like it. It looks cool and I feel warm. Two things I notice(1) If temperature below 30F then you really need to put on warm clothes besides this jacket. Otherwise a fleece underwear with this jacket could you warm.(2) I found the hand pocket zip open direction is upward. This cause a little inconvenience.I would recommend to my friends.

Purchased this jacket to replace a 6 yr old wind stopper Tech. It's not as warm, but it has the wind stopping characteristic of the original model. Still a sharp looking, quality piece of outdoor gear. Medium jacket is a good fit for my 67" athletic frame. A good purchase.

My son doesn't like big bulky winter jackets. He was wearing his Mountain Hardwear lightweight jacket on rainy 40 degree days - a great jacket but not for those conditions. So, I bought him the Tech Jacket. More than anything it provides him with warmth on 40 degree days and protects him from the well. He wears it every day now and thet's the best compliment that can be made.
