Mountain Hardwear Mesa Convertible Pant

What a surprise!
After much research I bought these pants mainly to fit over the lower leg and foot cast I am sporting right now. They work perfectly for that. I was surprised at how well they look on and how comfortable I am wearing them everywhere. Size is true and shipping was super fast.

Great pant, a bit snug
These pants look great, last well, and have a nice athletic fit. Between the conical waist, room in the seat, and articulated knees, they are outdoor pants that actually work outdoors. Too many convertibles restrict movement, particularly lifting the legs while bouldering or scrambling. It's also nice that the shorts, once converted, are long enough to keep anything private out of site, regardless of how you move or sit. The pants are a bit snug in the thighs, though. I had to return some Large size and get XL instead. But other than that, no problems.

Just Right
Spent a week hiking in the White Mountains in summer and they were perfect. They are lightweight making them perfect for summer heat. The fit is true to size; at 5'9" the regular length was just right. Like the length of the zip off legs. Would highly recommend these pants.

Good purchase
I would recommend buying these pants for hiking. Comfortable with lots of pockets for storage. Beware however that if you purchase different colors the sizing may vary. I have bought two colors, the cigar fit to size, the khaki had to be returned once due to being larger. Second time around the sizing was correct.

used first time with 30 percent deet bug spray, did not stain. held up great in brush. like integrated belt, less to pack. buying second pair soon.

They are really comfortable.
They are excellent hiking pants and are very comfortable to wear. They keep out the wind and cold weather but easily converted to shorts.

GREAT HIKING PANTS
I am 5'8 and 160 lbs. THE REGULAR FIT ME GREAT.I love that i can unzip the legs and pull them off over my hiking boots.THE MICRO-CHAMOIS lined waist is a nice touch too. These pants are on the loose side leaving room for motion. Will be getting another pair. THANKS altrec

Perfect fit!
I am 5'9 and 125 lbs. I ordered size small regular. Perfect fit. 1/2 inch shorter would have been too short. Girls taller than me should get long. Super light pant. Love the waist lining. Will use these on a 4 day hiking trip this summer.

Nice Pants
I am 6'3" and ordered the long inseam (36" inseam) and they fit great. Shorts are perfect length to right above the knee. Looking forward to wearing them in Costa Rica in May.

DARNTOUGH
A solid value for both town and trekking. Excellent exercise fit with plenty of pocket space and lite weight for easy movement. Use UnderArmour for additional warmth in the back country. Resist tears under all conditions and dries fast.

Will buy another pair.
I bought these pants for camping. Now I wear them not only for camping but for walking around town. They are well stitched and very comfortable. One of the main reasons I love these pants is the draw string located at the bottom of the pant leg. When I canoe I can lift the pant legs up to my knees and pull the draw string which will tighten and prevent my pant legs from getting wet. Of course I could remove the pant legs to [cre-ate ]shorts but sometimes the occasion does not call for it. Another reason I love these pants is for the deep pockets. I have noticed many brands have shallow pockets and as an outdoors person it would be so easy to loose your items. One thing that could be improved is the belt. Most of the belt is concealed under the fabric. I would have preferred belt loops so that I fasten a flashlight or knife sheath around the belt.

Here is another great product from Mountain Hardwear. Long shorts with a slightly slim fit. I purchased "rawhide" for the beach and summer heat.

great short length!
i love the longer short length when it heats up. My kids dont think i look like dork with those short shorts like other convertibles. i do wish the pant legs had zippers !

So comfy
These are very similar to TNF Horizon very light and comfy. They come in LONG sizes!!! YEA!! The Large is a touch larger then TNF So if your on the edge of med or large like me you may be able to go med. They do tend to wrinkle more than the M.H. Matterhorn or TNF Paramount. So if its light weight and cost they are perfect. If ya have a few more dollars step up to the Matterhorn or Paramount.

Lightweight, dries quickly
I work in a greenhouse and need my clothes to be tough, comfortable, and water resistant. The ability to zip off the legs only increases the versatility of these pants. Great pants...would definitely buy again.

Pants were sized incorectly
Pants were labeled XXL but were more like a medium. I'm sure it's a freak occurrence. Customer service quickly handled the return as promised. I look forward to my next purchase.
