This weighs nearly nothing and is comfortable even though the shoulder straps are un-padded mesh. I have carried this for over 12 hours straight with no problem. It is perfect when weight matters. like for climbing. It is nonrestrictive as well. The foam panel can easily be removed to make it even lighter and to pack it away in a pocket or other pack. I also like the fact that it is a top-loader with no zippers to mess with.

I got this bag for my girlfriend and she lugs it around everywhere. It packs down really small and weighs almost nothing. Durable to boot, would recommend this bag to anyone.

I've been looking for a pack that I can take around town. This pack fits the bill perfectly. It stuffs down into a built-in pouch and the resulting package fits in a water bottle cage on my bike. I can leave it there until I need it (grocery shopping, the library, etc). It's completely unobtrusive and so far has held up very well. Definitely worth the price.

I have purchased three of these over the last year, one for myself and two as gifts, and all of us have found them extraordinarily useful. I use mine primarily when bicycling to carry apparel and light weight business materials, and it is great. Straps are light weight but in no way "flimsy", and the zippered top pocket is great for easy access to phone, wallet, keys, etc. Clearly up to Mt. Hardware standards. And yes, an external water bottle pocket would be nice, as Derek noted earlier.

weight and durability,A great little pack for summit bids,I can carry my down jacket and pants as well as,stove,
fuel,some food,etc.everything i need when the wheather gets nasty at summit.

I used this pack as a stuff sack and secondary/scrambling pack on a recent 3-day trip. It was great to have a small pack to explore and summit nearby 13ers without having to lug my weekend pack around.

Really nice backpack. Light enough to carry all day without too much strain on the back. Let me be hands free which is important. Water bottle hooks or placement outside would be helpful.

Don't you just hate taking a walk only to find the temp has changed and now wish you could remove or add a layer. Stash a layer before you heat up too much or pull out a shell when the wind picks up and the sky becomes threatening. With the Scrambler it's now easy to take an extra garment along or stow one with ease. Nothing hard in there, then remove the pad ( which adds about 4 ounces to the stated 11 ) and you still have a comfortable pack you will hardly know is there. Also much cooler without the foam pad.

I believed the reviews and bought the pack. It did seem a bit flimsy when I pulled it out of the box, yet it has done everything I asked it to do. It really does pack away into its own top pocket yet carries a full load comfortably. The shoulder straps seemed too light and are not really padded at all...it didn't matter. It fit me well, was extremely light and I'm actually using it as my carry-on baggage to London next month.

great pack for over night hikes pleanty of room for minimalist gear , looks can be deciven tough pack , all my light weight gear weights less than 5 pounds pack was very comfortable ,great for fast hikes or slow day hikes .

Great superlight pack for day hikes and/or summit bids. Love the capacity and how it stuffs into itself to take anywhere. The velcro strap is great for trekking poles, ice axe etc. Could use a place for a water bottle - other than that a perfect pack

I've used it on several Cascade volcanoes as a summit pack and it has performed wonderfully. The material is stronger than it feels and has stood up to many pokes with an ice axe and crampons. It disappears in a larger pack when stuffed into itself so the convenience for a quality summit pack is far beyond anything I've seen to date.

Used mine while backpacking in the Pyrenees, dropped my big pack and ready to go. Held everything I needed and then some. Awesome for exploring. The only thing I would like more is a waist band but I am small enough to tie it around me for a better fit.

I bought this pack to use as a day pack while on a bike tour. It rolled up into a compact cylinder. The pack is lightweight but sturdy. The top flap has two zippered pockets, which are handy. I would rate it great if it had an external pocket for a water bottle.

Impressed with the durable fabric, two top zippered pockets, generous capacity relative to light weight. Comes with a plastic insert as a stabilizer. The insert limits the packable size, but it is removable. Best in it's class.

I wish this pack had a very light waist belt to help secure it better, but the chest clip does serve to secure it from moving around to much. All in all, I love this pack.

Nice pack, so light and fits very well (6' tall). I've used it as a compression sack in larger packs and have taken out the foam back and rolled it up into it's top pocket easily. Use it mainly as a daypack from basecamp and it has survived the summer with no problems.

Its light and simple. I use it for a day pack during backpacking trips. Taking out the foam backing (which is easy) makes it a good stuff sack, so it serves more than one function. Good bag for price.

definitely not for carrying books in around campus. tough fabric maybe? not tough enough for setting down on concrete without having some small holes in the fabric appear. definitely more for carrying clothing and other essentials for a fast trip up to the summit.

I bought this pack for day hikes and sporting events... It's maiden voyage was the Patriots home opener and I suppose was hoping for better quality here. The shoulder straps are flimsy, I am always worried that I might break one off. The nylon fabric sounds like paper crinkling and gets annoying for us tactical thinking outdoor folk. A scrambler-type pack is great idea but needs to be revamped to the usual Mountain Hardware quality.

Good for ultralight pack for backpacking treks, but not suitable for everyday school/work use. Flimsy straps and thin (but tough) fabric. The inner frame pad is really thin and doesn't hold form. No waist belt.

The Pack is very lightweight and seems to be somewhat practical for short distance day hiking (have not used it extensively) but at the same time it gives an overall "thin and breakable" feel. I was expecting a fabric that seemd a little more durable. Only time will tell and the price was "right"

I destroyed this bag in one week. Mountain Hardwear should be ashamed to produce such a product. No strength in the material whatsoever!
