Excellent for climbing, backpacking and traveling through windswept and exposed landscapes, the Transition Featherweight Tight is just as light and breathable as other lightweight base layers, but the WINDSTOPPER® N2S Featherweight shell fabric has a windproof WINDSTOPPER® laminate to effectively neutralize cold air penetration. The articulated cut and gusseted crotch make this tight better for climbing and other strenuous activities than most traditional inner layer designs. Like other Mountain Hard Wear base layers, the Transition Featherweight Tight features leg seams that sweep back away from common boot abrasion areas along the ankle, minimizing potential chafing.

Great pants for any sport. I wear them for skiing and running. Very warm and no wind comes through.

These tights utilize the same N2s technology as the top and are a good addition to complete an arsenal of clothing. Bottom line is good warmth to weight ratio, nice fit and windstopper to boot which adds flexibity in both activities and range of temperature. That said, I would not want to go below 30 degrees with these tights. I see these as cool and windy weather tights rather than cold and windy. Hence the "transition" label. Windstopper is nice on the bike and really saves the knees.

Very confortable allows your skin to breath. I have run in 30 degree weather with wind chill down to 10 degree.

Had to wash them a couple of times before I could wear them the first time(a little itchy) but nice & comfy after. Wore these tights on a windy rainy cold day & stayed warm & relatively dry. Highly recomend these especialy with the Transition top

Fantastic and the lightweight, windproof and breathable WindStopper® N2S shell fabric really works! I needed a mid layer to wear between snowboarding pants and base layer that wouldn't take too much room or be TOO warm. Found it! The MHW transition tight is the perfect fit, if only the fit were perfect. It has a tendancy to ride low and no way of stopping it.

The tights work as advertised. They breath well and block wind. They are also a very comfortable base layer for winter hiking. The sizing seems to be a little on the large side.

My 5'3" Asian body shape(short

always very difficult when
shorts or pants need to be
bought from regular sizes
so I had already returned
a ski pant when I ordered this
pants, Featherweight.It(medium)
fits me perfect. A SWIX ski
pants, size XS, was bought
several weeks before I
noticed sale of this pants and
I had to try Featherweight
because SWIX pants made me
suffocate. I like this pant
better. (this pants is cheaper
too.) It seems more rugged
than SWIX pants and also more
wind proof. I haven't tried it
skiing but it looks/feels like
it would perform well.
Lack of perfection (a star missing) is from the lack of
any size pocket anywhere. (and I
still have to figure out which
side is front.;)
