Description

Designed with highly active winter sports in mind, the Women's Mountain Hardwear Callisto Jacket is a softshell jacket with an athletic, streamlined fit. Made from Deflection Soft Shell fabric, you’ve got windproof, water resistant protection along with a high level of breathability – so bring on the rain, wind and sweat – you’ll stay comfy in any conditions. Backed with brushed microfleece for extra soft warmth and more moisture-wicking ability, this winter jacket will feel nice over a tee shirt on a spring evening or with a lightweight fleece mid layer in colder temps. Hand warmer pockets and an internal zippered pocket keep small stuff secure while microfleece hidden cuffs keep chilly winds from snaking up your sleeves. The slimmer fit of the Callisto Jacket for women means a little built-in stretch goes a long way whether you’re climbing a backcountry peak or taking a stroll along the river trail with a friend and her dog.

Awesome all-around jacket. Definitely warm but not too much, and fits great, though a bit too big. I have the same size in a different model from the same company, so I thought the fit would be the same, not quite though. Still, highly recommended.

Love this jacket
November 01, 2011

I have the North Face Apex Bionic jacket in brown from a few years ago but they changed the style of that jacket so I ordered the Mountain Hardware jacket in black. I love it! It is lightweight but very warm. Good for mild fall weather and it is water repellent. The sleeves also have thumb holes which I love. Would be a good jacket for running. I usually wear a medium in jackets and this one fits true to size.

Looooove it!
March 14, 2012

This jacket is true to size. I love the fit and feel of it. I've always worn The North Face products and wanted to switch over to Mountain Hardware. So far its great quality and comfortable. I think the only think I don't like about it is the crunchy noise it makes when it gets cold. I would still reccommend this jacket though! ;)

just what i was looking for...
October 19, 2011

I was looking for a in between weather jacket for so long and this one is really great. I am 5.9 and 120 lbs and i usually wear xs in everything. However, size small in this jacket was perfect. It still has a room for a light sweater. One of the best things is the length of this jacket(right at hip on me), which is usually a big struggle since majority of jackets are too short. Also, it has a very feminine, slim shape that i liked. Overall this is a great fall/spring jacket that is reasonably waterproof and windproof. It will keep you warm and good looking.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, lenghth

Definitely recommend
January 03, 2011

I bought this for my daughter who wanted something wind-proof to wear at the crags when we climb together. I was very impressed with the quality and features of this jacket, and it looks very stylish on my 16 year old. She loves it!

Pros: Build quality, Performance, Great value

Perfect Length
January 31, 2010

I bought this jacket for a Kilimanjaro climb. I used it in 30 degree temps in Fl,Kept me warm. I have a tall/slim frame, sometimes have a difficult time finding jackets long enough. Length was perfect.

Mountain Hardwear Callisto jacket
September 22, 2009

At last I found the softshell jacket I've been searching for. I'm very pleased with the quality. It is a little longer than some I've seen which I prefer and the weight is good ,not too stiff and drapes well. I also like the winter white, it works with anything.

Nice jacket, but not as described
February 25, 2010

I bought this jacket because I was looking for a soft-shell to wear in the spring. The description on the Altrec page does not say that this jacket is lined, and I was disappointed, as this is more for winter weather than spring. It's quite stiff, but warm and seems to be fairly wind/rain proof. I'm still considering keeping the jacket. The fit is sleek and the styling is nice--though I might consider the Limestone Softshell instead, as it is less expensive and has far more technical and practical features than the Callisto (i.e. Gore-tex, headphone access and a liner with thumb holes).

This is the first soft shell that I've tried. It seemed very stiff, and with the tailored shoulders, it looked like a uniform jacket on me. Also, the thumb holes are oddly placed. They were a bit too short on me, yet if my arms were shorter the main sleeve would have been too long. It did seem like it would be nicely wind and water resistant. I am returning it based on looks and feel.

Nice fit, not too loose. Yummy fabric. Collar is different, but works well once it softens up. Good length.

Nice Jacket - runs a little small in the arms
December 12, 2011

Overall this is a beautiful jacket. It's a bit on the tailored side - which I like. I'm 5'3" tall, 120 lbs. and the small fits perfectly except in the arms which are a bit snug through the bicep. I do have a muscular build with bigger than average biceps so that could just be me. Still, I would size up if you want to wear anything more than light weight long underwear underneath. The color Nebiola is a muted dark plum and its very pretty. I just received this jacket so can't speak to water protection or durability, but I own several Mountain Hardwear pieces and they all perform as expected. I like this jacket so much that I am going to purchase it in other colors as well.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Great value, Cons: slightly tight in the upper arms

Sexy, Smooth and Comfortable
March 03, 2011

I love this jacket! I bought two of them, one in black, the other in espresso. The black is not a super dark black, more of a slate like black, but I still love it. They're both very comfortable and look great on me!

great looking jacket
December 13, 2010

This is a great jacket for spring or fall alone. I am using it inside another coat for winter months since it looks sharp when I shed the outer coat but still need a little something extra to stay warm. It's also a great find because it won't wrinkle easily, so you can toss it in the car and go, knowing it'll look good whenever you choose to put it on. I like to adjustable velcro at the wrists to tighten it up around the glove area and shut out cold. Also the stand up collar is nice for added warmth around the neck. Since it is close fitting, one may want to order up a size if planning on wearing something bulky underneath.

Great jacket
January 19, 2011

Love this jacket! It's a great weight and excellent durability! I don't like being too bundled up, getting in and out of the car. This jacket is just right to keep you warm and it's a great wind blocker. I have worn it for everything from riding 4-wheelers, to kids activities. Would highly recommend. Altrec has great customer service as well.

Awesome purchase, great price
July 23, 2010

I recently purchased the medium (5'8'', 140 lbs) and it fits great (there is even room for another thin baselayer underneath). It is incredibly warm and soft, the exterior is waterproof which is fantastic. I ordered it on a Saturday and it arrived the following Monday. Great price, great service, love the jacket!

Very Nice Jacket
December 11, 2010

I love this jacket, but the sleeves run quite long. The way they are made, however, allows them to be tightened. I am 5'5", weigh 122 lbs, and ordered a medium. I think a small would have fit better as layering is not much of an issue in the southern USA.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value
