I would not recommend the 2010 canyon shirt.
June 11, 2010
I bought the stone green 2010 canyon shirt because I have two of the 2009 shirts and absolutely love them. Although the color is perfect, the style and cut has been changed in the 2019 version. The large area back shoulder mesh is not covered by a fabric, (leaving the wearer open for massive sunburn). The wide pannel of delicate underarm mesh runs all the way to the shirt cuff, which means whatever your arm comes in contact with is most likely to leave snags and tears if worn for camping and hiking. Even resting one's arm on a picnic table exposes the mesh to the surface. (Mine even arrived pre-torn). It will be definitely be going back and I will stick to the 2009 model!
Most comfortable summer shirt

The fabric of this shirt is the most comfortable for hot, humid weather I have ever tried. If it gets wet, it dries very quickly. The "Napoleon pocket" on the left breast has a long vertical zipper that sometimes has an annoying feel, and I don't find either of the pockets very useful for anying heavier than a map or other paper. But the cut of the shirt is very flattering and the colors are lively. My biggest complaint is that the sleeves are out of proportion to the shortish length of the shirt. I am 5'2" and am used to sleeves being a bit too long, but these are ridiculous. Really not for petites. I have to roll the cuffs up twice. Still, I like the shirt so much that I am putting up with that problem.
great shirt but overpriced

The shirt is comfortable and fits well, true to size, not to baggy or tight. I wore the shirt in 100 degree humid weather and while I was working up a good sweat, I remained fairly dry, the shirt has good moisture wicking properties. As noted in the previous reviewer's comment, there is no mesh on the back but on the sides. I have had no problems with snags and snares with the mesh. I didn't get sunburned but each person tans or burns differently. Washes well and dries incredibly fast even in humid weather. The only downside of the shirt is the price thus the four stars instead of five. I would buy more if it goes on sale. Also, Altrec is a great place to shop!!
Great shirt for hiking or shopping!

Love the shirt with a t-shirt or camisole underneath. The color is rich and looks great. I would buy again in other colors. I am short and slim and the shirt is very flattering.
Great fit

I have been a fan of Mountain Hardware Canyon shirts for years. I was super excited that the new version has the same great material and now is fitted. I ordered this shirt in Kiwi and White. I loved the Kiwi, but thought the White was too see-thru with the mesh sides. The fit has enough room in the shoulders and bust, but at the same time comes in at the waist. The shirt is comfortable with a pack, flattering, and keeps me cool and protected from the sun.

comfort hiking shirt

This shirt fits great like all mountain hardwear has that great tailored look. I don't much like the big pocket on the left breast and I am worried the mesh under the arms will not prove strong. Definitely not for rough use but could be nice to travel it. Low quality stitching on mine is a little disconcerting.

Beautiful Shirt---for munchkins

After chasing down the right colors of this lovely shirt all over over the world, I finally found them here. Ordered two, and was very happy with the fabric, the styling, the wicking and venting features. However the sleeve lengths are ridiculously short! I am a medium (5'8" and 133lbs) in most apparel, and always in Mt. Hardwear stuff. I thought the first one I tried on was a defective that slipped through, but the second one fit exactly the same way. The cuffs reach somewhere around mid-forearm. But because the rest of the shirt is already a rather generous cut, I opted against reordering a large size. I just sent them back.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, extremely comfy fabric, Cons: weird fit, defective sleeve lengthMountain Hardwear Women's Canyon Long Sleeve Shirt Photo
