Excellent Jacket
March 24, 2012
Love this jacket. It's a little pricey, but I've had a great experience with it. I don't use it out in the mountains or anything - just city wear, but it's been fantastic for those purposes. It's my only rain jacket, and I've worn it both walking and biking in some pretty driving rain. I have yet to get wet. It breathes pretty well, too, at least as much as a waterproof jacket can "breathe." My only complaint is the hood setup. I'm not a fan of the velcro roll-up style for stowing the hood. In my opinion, a removable hood and/or one that rolls up into the actual collar would be much better. I also find the hood adjustments unnecessarily complicated. Admittedly, some of this is probably because I'm using it around the city, not out on a hike or with a climbing helmet. But the fact remains that the adjustment systems is not very intuitive.
Pros: Build quality, Performance, Ease of usegood rain coat

I bought this jacket for my wife, she is 5'2'' and 104 lbs. S size seems a little big for her, extreme small should be fit for her. This jacket is waterproof and windproof, with light weight as well. The style is also what I like, I do not like the style of new version.
Pros: Great designawesome hood

I was looking for a multipurpose rain jacket that looks good, offers great protection and will also go camping or hiking. This jacket does all of that with ease - the only downside is that it I would say it is sized small for a jacket. I expect that a jacket of this type would easily accommodate a sweater or a couple layers - say base layer + one but it fits too closely to move comfortably with anything other than lightweight clothes underneath. I am 5'3", 115 lb and reliably wear a size 4 top I purchased a small which does just fine for streetwear or warm weather but will need something else for fall/winter layering. Another plus - the awesome hood, totally love that part!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of useLove this jacket!

Some reviewers complained that the hood was too big, but it's adjustable through a few straps in the back! The jacket is clearly well made and has water sealing on all the zippers, but is a thin shell for water protection and doesn't provide much warmth. I'm 5'2", 125 pounds and small is a perfect fit when I have a thin knit sweater underneath. It's a flattering women's cut.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueMountain Hardware Cohesion Jacket

Love this jacket! Good fit, nice longer length, sleeves are long enough for me ( I have long arms). This jacket is also stylish, so you can feel good about wearing it out shopping etc. Overall I would highly recommend this jacket.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of useThe real deal.

This jacket IS the real deal. As far as fit, I found this jacket to be true to size for an outdoor jacket. That is, definitely roomy enough to accommodate whatever layers I'd want to put under it, but not at all large. Best of all, since I'll cop to being vain/fashion conscious, despite being roomy enough for layers the cut of this jacket is such that it's actually flattering! Basically it's cut so it hangs down and makes you look slim without the layers, but there's still space for them. Hopefully this makes sense. This is a big deal for me, because I've owned several other similar jackets before made by other well-respected outdoor companies and every single one of them made me look oddly shaped. I wasn't expecting to actually look good in this jacket--just stay dry. So, bonus points for that! Back to the functional bits, it's been a good while since I've purchased something as high quality as this jacket. Every last detail is done carefully, and with really high quality materials AND I don't think there's much of a chance I'll get wet this winter!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueGreat packable raincoat
October 01, 2011
Jacket fits well-roomy enough to accommodate layers of sweaters but not so roomy as to look ridiculous. Great pockets and zipper placements. Jacket will be used for light rain for dog walks and soccer games--not torrential downpours.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great valueGood waterproof/breathable rain-jacket for price

I love this raincoat. It is really great for Seattle in the winter. It does not look boxy but large enough for me to wear a fleece underneath. I like the hood too, it big to cover my hair from being wet.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, PerformanceGood waterproof/breathable rain-jacket for price

This is the second cohesion jacket that I have purchased. I appreciate the cost to effectiveness ratio that this shell offers. It is small and lightweight, the hood is completely adjustable to meet your needs, the pitzips are much appreciated on warmer/more active rainy days, and it does a great job at keeping me dry. My only (small) complaints would be the sizing - the jacket has a lot of room around the shoulder/chest area (presumably to give some flexibility to climbers) but less around the hips. So although I am a (larger) medium in most things, I have to move up to a large with this jacket to ensure that I have enough room around the hips if wearing layers. This means it is a bit bulky up top. The sleeves are also much longer than most other garments this size. A problem that I had with my last Cohesion jacket is that the lining started peeling off around the wrists and neck after about 3 years of use. Given the wear I subjected it to, I feel this is fair, but I now know to be careful with the lining on my new jacket.
Pros: Great design, Performance, Ease of useMtn. Hardwear

This raincoat rocks. I got it for backpacking through the Beartooth Mountains this summer and it did its job well. It keeps water out while still letting my skin breathe. I got it in lava red and absolutely adore the color. It does run a little large though. I'm 5'9 and got a medium and can easily fit a thick hoodie underneath.
Pros: Great design, Performance, Great valueDoes what is is supposed to!
August 27, 2011
In general I think this jacket is good quality and quite durable. I haven't yet tested it in monsoon conditions, so I can't speak to its waterproofness. However, the hood is quite large and hangs over the eyes, even when the pull tie is pulled in the back.
Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Ease of use, Great valueGreat feminine looking rain jacket
July 06, 2011
I love everything about this jacket! The sleeves are nice and long. I am 130 5'9". I have not worn it in a down pour yet only light rain and I stayed totally dry. It is not the heaviest jacket, but for my purposes in Florida and hiking in NC in an unexpected rainfall, it is great. My sister has a Marmot that is a little heavier, but it is also boxier looking. This one is as attractive as you can get for a rain jacket. Love the light blue color too.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great valueGreat jacket!!!!
July 03, 2011
The jacket length covers half of my backside and while not snug, there is not much room for anything under it. Sleeves are about 1" too long but velcro keeps them in place. I hiked 2 hours in the rain, at 80 degrees, with pit zips open. I was a bit clammy, which would have been the case in my other rain gear which weighs 10 times as much and is stiff. My cell phone in the chest pocket stayed dry. This jacket, in orange, looks great and is light weight.
Pros: Build quality, Performance, Great valueMountain Hardwear Raincoat
June 29, 2011
I love this raincoat. It fits well. The cut is not boxy or bulky but loose enough to put layers underneath for colder weather. Did great in the rain. The hood w/ a visor fits over my bike helmet. Love the color. Overall a great buy.
Pros: Performance, Great valuePerfect shell
June 22, 2011
Even though I'm tall (5'8"), I wear a small in most of my gear. Mountain Hardware tends to be the only exception - I need them to make a size right in between their small and medium :) It really is just a shell, so I probably should've gone with the medium so that I'd be able to better layer a lightweight sweatshirt or fleece under it in cooler rains. But vanity ultimately won out, so I went with the small for the slightly more feminine fit. I love all the pockets - especially on the sleeve - and love that they all zip, ensuring my chapstick and keys are still there when I come down off the mountain. It keeps me totally dry, and the visor seriously keeps the rain out of my face. I definitely recommend it.
Pros: Great design, PerformanceGood Rain Jacket
June 08, 2011
- I like the side arm pocket for an ID or chapstick. It's great for DOD or military personnel or anyone who has to have an ID at the ready. I also like the inside side pocket, also very useful. -It is light so it can be packed tight and with little space. -The arm pit zips, or for me "vents" are fantastic for a person who runs a little hot, and needs some air under there. :) - I am a bit bigger so a large was great, with some roon if I wanted to add a warm light jacket underneath. I am 5'6'', so most arm lengths are fine for me, this was no different. I LOVED that the wrists had velcro to tighten. -Because the jacket is softer, I am worried that if it snags something it will tear. We shall see . . .
Pros: Performance, Ease of useBest Purchase Ever

I bought this jacket for my wife a few months ago. Size is Small, Color is Air/Fresh Blue. Good point: design, light weight, color, Water Protection Bad point: Nothing. But sometimes, the velcro tape of sleeve jammed. She don't like this situation that's why it occured a small scratch to other wears.

This is a great foul weather jacket, keeps wind and moisture at bay. The over sized hood means you can hide the whole family during a down pour. The sleeves can be custom sized to your needs. The length is mid hip, great to layer warmer pieces under jacket.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueSo far, Excellent

I originally purchased a similar Marmot jacket for about 50% more $, but when I found this jacket I returned the Marmot to save some bucks without giving up a lot of features. This jacket has performed extremely well. After wearing it a few times the stiffness goes away and the jacket becomes more comfortable. I used it on a multi-day backpacking/camping trip in Yosemite with at least a day and a half of rain and/or snow - temps in the high 20's/low 30's. I was perfectly warm, not sweating with a layer of underarmour, light down vest and the jacket - plus a hat and the hood. I also like that the jacket is a little longer than some of the other brands. If it was an inch or two longer, it would be even better. As far as durability, I can't really opine - it's worked really well so far, but I've only had it a few months! So far, I've been using for hikes, rainy/windy little league games and swim meets and camping with no complaints. I'm 5'10", 145 lbs and the large fits well.
Pros: Performance, Great value, seems well madeApril 19, 2011
This rain coat arrived just in time for a nice 2 day rain event. I work in outdoor education, so being outside in all different types of weather is a given. The coat kept me dry while I was out in the field. It also dried out once we came inside pretty quickly. The hood is really big because it is designed to be able to go over a helmet or something, and even when I adjusted it ... it still covers my face a little too much. I would much rather have this problem though then not have a big enough hood. In my case, this isn't a bad thing because I don't really need to use my peripheral vision constantly. I am 5'9" and 140 and I got the Medium ... fit is a little big so that I can have a fleece or other layer underneath without any problem. Sleeves are plenty long and it ends at about my hips, so there is none of the awkward gapping from too-short jackets
Great Lightweight Jacket
April 14, 2011
I love this jacket! It does get a little sticky when wet, but what doesn't? Durable construction, and very lightweight. Stays dry inside for about 15 minutes in a downpour, which is impressive. Like Mike B, I payed less, and think most of MH's gear is overpriced. Definitely not an insulator, but combined with a MontBell ThermaWrap you're pretty much ready for anything.
LOVE IT
April 11, 2011
I got this jacket about 3 weeks ago. I absolutely love it. Size wise i was a little unsure but decided to go with a medium because i wanted to be able to layer. I love the size. I am 5'7 and about 135 lbs. The jacket definitely gives me LOTS of room to layer and to move. A small probably would have been great too, but i wanted the jacket to be able to layer so I am happy that I got a medium. I love the length of this jacket. I also love the hood. I have trouble finding hoods that will stay on my head, and are large enough. This hood is great because it is adjustable. Some of my friends make fun of me because the adjustable "bungee chords" stick straight out of the hood on the back of my head when i wear it up, but honestly I DON"T CARE. I love being able to wear a hood that in the middle of rain and lots of wind, stays on your head! I am SO glad i made this investment and I have probably worn it in the rain 5 times. Every single time i have remained dry! The lightness of the jacket is great for the summer, and in cooler weather - JUST LAYER!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, great hoodGreat Jacket!

I just ordered this coat in time for 28 straight days of rain in Oregon. It has held up nicely against the rain so far. I like the fit, and overall it is a comfortable, nice-fitting jacket. The fabric is a little bit thinner than I originally expected although it is great for layering!
Pros: Great design, Great valueso glad I purchased!
March 22, 2011
Love the bight blue w/ the navy! bueatiful jacket, and as alway mountain hardwear never lets me down w/ the quality. I wear my mountain hardwear zorir jacket under on colder days, so I'm glad it runs a little on the larger size. Glad I purchased both jackets together as they work and match perfectly together, or sperate. YEA!
Pros: Build quality, Performance, Great valueTop Quality
March 18, 2011
Well made, with multiple adjustments possible in hood, making it easy to keep off your face. Runs small. I am 5'8", 145 lbs, and got the medium. Will need to send it back. Am hoping for more color choices next time. I love this brand.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of useMarch 11, 2011
I am 110lbs and 5'3", I ordered the small Cohesion Jacket in black. It fits great, and as others have said, it has a great form fit. I have only worn this jacket twice, and have noticed that there is a brim on the front of the hood. I didn't know it was going to have that, but I really like it. The brim will help protect my face from the rain and sunlight. I have been on a search for a rain jacket for a while, and I am really happy I waited and found this jacket. I think it will be a great jacket for a long time.
Pros: Great design, Lasts forever, Great valueAwesome!

I bought this jacket to replace TNF Venture jacket. This one is much more feminine in fit and it has a longer length which I loved. The hood is huge but with the adjustable bungies on the back it fits like a glove. I love the water sealed pockets as well. I'm 5'5", 125lbs. and the small was perfect. Even enough room to layer a fleece jacket underneath for added warmth!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of useGreat product

Great light weight rain jacket! I purchased this jacket to take with me to Cost Rica and it kept me dry, protected and was easy to pack in my backpack. I love the length of this jacket too. I look foward to wearing this jacket on my other 'wet' adventures. I definitely recommend.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Great valueThoroughly Impressed

Love, love, love everything about this jacket. The hood cinching capability is phenomenal, not a hair on my head was wet. Held it's own amidst a downpour in Scotland. Color is as vibrant as freshly cut grass. I am 5'4", 120 lbs. and the small fit like a glove.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Great valueGreat Jacket

Nice, light jacket. I haven't tested it in rain as yet, but found it great for a recent hike in cooler weather.
Super light, functional & great looks!
July 16, 2008
I bought this jacket for my GF, she loves it. Perfect for mist to a downpour, super light and breathable. Great for casual wear around town in the Northwest, Breathes well for medium activity (walking / hiking) but may not breathe well enough to shed heat & vapor during high aerobic activity (running / biking). However it's light enough to take with you anywhere just in case & trim cut, true to size & looks great - pit zips & rear shoulder stretch panels are a nice touch & really adds to the mobility.
Super-light and water resistant

Super-light and water resistant, Super functional and true to size & trim fit. Made a great gift to my SO, a Female outdoor enthusiast who needed something to shed the rain in the Seattle climate - she loved it. Highly recommended as a super-light water resistant shell - FYI colors are brighter than on your screen.
