Great pants
November 28, 2011
I wore these pants to hike 90miles in the mountains for a week. They proved to be extremely durable. For the most part, they are very comfortable. I always wear a size 4 in MH pants (5'7" 125). However, when converted into shorts, the size 4 pant legs aren't as roomy as I'd like where the leg zipper is. I also have the Yuma pants and these are more comfortable in that area but this is because the cutoff point is lower on the legs. Regardless, I would most definitely recommend these.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueGreat Convertable Hiking Pants

Great addition to hiking gear ... easy zip off and re-attachment. Very durable and quick drying. The fit is comfortable, just a little odd from the back and top of the waist -- I think it is just designed so the waist isn't too snug. I usually wear 4 or 6 and the 6 fit perfectly.
Pros: Ease of use, Great value, can't beat for sale priceStylish if fits well

I bought this pants for the great impression about MH's products in general. This pants have very a stylish cut, and can be pretty comfortable if fits right. Unfortunately I got the size that is too small (5'6, 120lb, purchased size xs) , which retrains the movement of my thigh. Have to return it. Otherwise it's very stylish compared to the bulky cut from most of the convertible pants.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts foreverAwesome, Durable Pants

I purchased these convertible pants last year and have found them to be very durable. We have do a tone of hiking in all kinds of conditions and these pants have held up (even on the most rocky terrain). I purchased the Khaki and have had no trouble with keeping them free of stains. The only negative is that i have a small waistline and larger hips and find that the waist is a little big. I would highly reccomend. I love the so much that I am going to order a second pair.
Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of useNice pants

These are very well made pants, and they're nice looking. The fabric was great, and it seemed like they would be very durable for backpacking. Unfortunately they were too long for me. Since they have zippers in the lower leg, hemming them couldn't be easily done, so I had to return them. If you're taller, definitely give these a try.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Great valueHeavy duty hiking/climbing pant

These are a heavier material than the Yuma pant, so they work especially well in a colder/damp/rocky or brushy environment. They do run small though! So be sure and order a size up from what you usually wear in Mountain Hardwear (I am 5'2" 115lbs and got the 4 regular which fit great) I use them for hiking and backcountry climbing and am very satisfied with the performance and looks of these pants.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueRun a bit long

Nice fit - actually fairly stylish. The shorts are more like pedal pushers, but very cute. These are the first pair of hiking pants I found that aren't so masculine. High quality craftsmanship and very comfortable. I am 5'4" and 110 lbs and took the recommendations of the others and ordered a size up. The 4 fits very well, however they are a bit long. I usually find that a petite or short length are too short, however with these pants, I think the short length would be much better - I may return them for the petite length.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, PerformanceGreat pants

I purchased these for an upcoming safari and to add to my general outdoor apparel collection. They fit nicely. I ordered a size 4 instead of my usual size 2 based on others' recommendations that the fit was small and the fit seems spot on. I also ordered the long length and they come just to the floor on me (I'm 5'7", but I have long legs). I've only worn these around the house, but they seem durable, they have a good amount of accessible pockets/storage. Not to mention the actual fit is flattering and comfortable (the legs flare slightly at the bottom, so you don't get the "mom jeans" effect).
Pros: Great design, Build quality, PerformanceLook more stylish than most hiking pants!

I tried on a few other pairs of convertible pants and they all looked like the designer had no concept of fashion. Just because you like to be athletic, doesn't mean you like to wear ugly clothes! These pants have more of a mid-rise and fit close to the leg, so they look more like pants you wouldn't mind being seen in. I was a little worried they'd feel too constricting for hiking/climbing, but they seemed to stretch a tiny bit and they felt fine for the hike I took them on - rated at a level 5 hike and 3 climb. They have a lot of nice, useful pockets, and a belt. The material is water-resistant, I walked past a lot of really wet bushes, and the water literally beaded right off. I liked these so much I got another pair in the dark brown. The length of the shorts is ok, although I'd prefer them about an inch or two shorter, but it's not a big deal. I usually wear a size 4 or 28 in jeans, and these I needed the 6, so I think they run a little small.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great valueComfortable, stylish and awesome fit!

I was unsure that a convertible pant is what I wanted. I do not plan on climbing any mountains or hiking any trails....but I am a teacher who plays at recess with the kids and gets down on the floor to teach reading groups every day. This pant is sporty casual, but appropriate for work. The gussets make it so mobile and comfortable! It is perfect design for those of us with athletic builds. I plan on ordering whatever colors I can find! Worth the $$$$ for sure!
Pros: Great design, Build qualityComfortable and Durable

These pants fit well and were very comfortable. The material is nice and durable but not too heavy. I love the inner waist lining. nice and soft for a pack. I felt they do run a bit short. I bought the long and they are just barely long enough. They also fit a bit small. I ended up with a size larger than I usually wear.
