Great pants!!
September 28, 2010

I train K9/SAR and am outside a lot. I have bought pants of this material before and they literally cannot be worn out. The black ones never appear dirty and you can wipe them clean with a wet cloth but they are not too shiny a material. You could dress them up with a jacket if need be for travel. The Futana pant style has a new type of waist band that is lined with soft material and so comfortable. Best of all, the STRETCH!! is an amazing touch. They run kind of long for me (5"3") but they can be adjusted at the bottom. If you prefer a low waist these probably won't make you happy. They are designed for comfort and carrying something around your waist (pack) so they ride slightly higher.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, wipes clean:), Cons: Cost, hard to find

Great pants for travel or work!
September 03, 2009

These pants are great! Needed comfortable light weight pants in Alaska (of all places!)and found these in Juneau. These pants are fantastic. They move with you and dry quickly when you need to give them a quick wash. Already purchased a second pair.

So nice, so very nice pant!
June 15, 2010

Feels nice, 4-way stretch, roomy, great fit for active day!

The fit is great, the stretch is great. These pants launder well...very low dryer setting to retain their stretch. I've ordered four pair.

Super Confortable! Great pants...

These pants are really confortable and light weight. I have two pairs and will buy a third one!

Buy them now! You'll be happy you did!
October 11, 2009

I just got my first pair and I wish they had more in my size because I would definitely get one in every color. These are by far one of the most comfortable pair of pants I have ever tried on! Mountain Hardwear tends to run small so I got a size 6 short and they fit great (I'm 5'3", 120 lbs, normally wear size 4 short in other brands). I am a biker and my thighs are pretty muscular which tends to give me problems finding pants that don't make me look like stuffed sausage (I also have a not-so-flat butt, if you know what I mean). These pants still have room in the thighs and the rear looks good, too. They are about 1-1.5 inches below my belly button and I usually do not like higher waist bands, but these are exactly what I need when I hike with a pack. I went to Hawaii last year with my North Face Paramount Porter [con-vert]ibles and I constantly had to keep pulling them up under my pack, which was extremely annoying. The Futuna is awesome! I probably could do the splits in them if I really wanted to because they are so stretchy. I love the zip pockets because they give me piece of mind that nothing is going to fall out of them. I highly recommend the Futuna to anyone looking for a great fitting and performing pair of pants! If looking for shorts, try the Futuna short. They are exactly the same as the pants minus back zip pocket and leg length. I have 2 of those!

I have 5 pairs of these. I'm a fitness instructor. need STRETCH and quick dry with decent "coverage". These fit the bill. I am 5'5" but like my pants to break lower on shoe, creates height. :) Make sure not to order the "short" if you like them longer. You can always use the cord at hem to make them shorter! THESE ROCK! I am not kidding. Probably shouldn't write this... want to keep supply all to myself. :)

Love them but I'm an in between size.
August 06, 2010

Tried the 10 S, too big, got the 8 S, too short in the inseam but fit otherwise. I wish so much they fit, love the pant really love them. Oh well the search goes on.

Great for travel
December 05, 2010

I absolutely love these pants, they are great to wear on the plane. Comfortable, look good, and really stand up to some wear and tear.

Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Ease of use

runs roomy
August 05, 2009

I loved these pants when they arrived but I ordered the wrong size. If in between sizes, I'd recommend ordering the lower size. Although roomy enough I had to return them, I could tell trying them on that they are great hiking pants. Nice finish on the fabric. Not loud fabric. Seemed like a pack would not chafe the pants against your back. I will reorder.

very pleased

I have to agree with the good reviews, I would definitely purchase another pair. Since I am 5'8" I might have to backorder another size 4 Long in Black. Pants are highly recommended!

Great pants!!!
April 08, 2010

These are great pants! I'm 5'2" and the short fits perfectly. The pants are so comfortable I ordered another pair in a different color. Zippered pockets are always a plus.

Terrific pants!! I'm sold on Mountain Hardware
September 22, 2009

I purchased these pants for a trip to Thailand. I have just received them and they are great. They fit well and look to be very well made. They have all kinds of cool features including the drawcord at the leg hem and the micro-chamois lined waist. The fabric is lightweight and the four way stretch makes them unbelievably comfortable. I immediately started looking for a similar pair for my husband (although in men's I can't seem to find the four way stretch fabric. I'm sure that he would love it too!)

I just got my 3rd and 4th pair!
July 21, 2009

Yes I love these so much I just got my 2 more pair, one of each color! That a total of 4. This goes to show how great these pants are.

Best fitting pants I own!
August 04, 2010

I have several pairs of these pants and can't imagine choosing anything else for running around town. They fit great, hold their shape, and wash beautifully. Year round wear-ability, too.

September 10, 2009

Upon receipt of my first pair, I liked them so much that I immediately placed an order for another pair in a different color. I'm 5'5" and the size 8 medium length fits perfectly. The material hugs the body in a flattering way, comfortably stretches in all directions and moves with you. The front pockets zip closed and the belt loops lay flat for a nice clean look. If the other colors were still available in my size, I'd order more. Great pants!

I do love these pants! My only complaint is the length.
August 04, 2009

I'm very long legged. I bought size 6 tall but they are still not quite long enough for me! I am still enjoying and loving them anyhow, but...make longer legs for tall people!! Love the way they fit my waist and hips and how the material stretches with my body. Would recommend.

January 06, 2011

Like the pants a lot because they lots of pockets and the waist can be pulled in and don't need a belt. I am a 5'4"and didn't have to adjust the length...i bought a size 8 Use them every time I travel. Love the option of making them into shorts. Dry well and fast.

Pros: Ease of use, Great value

super pants
November 29, 2009

I have these in every color. Super material. great in a light rain.

April 22, 2010

October 01, 2009

I ORDERED 3 MORE PAIRS. stretchtastic, love the fit, great for teaching fitness classes. Dry quick so you can do a quick grocery run after class without looking like a mess.

Can't live without these great fitting pant. I have four pair and the waist is not too low but just right. Keep making this fit. Thanks

Great Fit- Super Flattering!
August 11, 2010

I'm 5'8 with an athletic build- 143 lbs.. Muscular thighs and butt. I generally wear a size 6 and found these pants to be true to size. Because of my height, some pants can be an inch or so too short in length and then longs are usually too long. Caught in the middle most of the time. However, I decided to go with the Longs in this Futuna pant and glad I did as the length is absolutely perfect. I also had some concerns about the photo of this pant as it shows a drawstring hem at the bottom of the leg. I was pleased to discover it actually looks like a normal hem unless you pull the cord. The fabric is stretchy and moves with the body so the fit is very comfortable and flattering. Looking to add more colors to my wardrobe! Buy these pants- you won't be disappointed!

Waist size too large.
April 30, 2009

I like the style and fabric very much. However, the waist size is much too large compared to the hips. I have a 38-28-38 figure, so I am not out of proportion. The waist is at least 2 inches too large so the pants fall down to my hips without a belt. But the belt makes the waist area all bunchy.

great fabric but not well sized
December 31, 2009

I ordered 2 of these pants because I loved the style and fabric. However the size was completely off and I had to return both pants. I love to shop at altrec but this was not a good choice

LOVE them!
April 26, 2010

These pants are amazing. Super flattering, super comfy, and the drawcord at the hem is really handy. The material is light but tough and they dry quickly.

January 22, 2009

I just received these pants and love them! They are very lightweight & packable! The attn to detail that MH provides is incredible!

Very durable when bushwacking
October 02, 2009

I bought these pants because they were my friend's favorite hiking pants and because her pants were the only one's that repelled mud and moisture and looked virtually spotless during a rainstorm we were in last year.

Great pants. Light weight and durable. Water and stain resistance is an added plus. A must have. They should make all clothing like these pants.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Cons: Cost

Flattering and comfortable
September 06, 2010

I'm 5'10" and 165 lbs, and got the 12 long - perfect length, roomy waist, but 10s would have been too snug for hiking - I like a loose fit. Nothing rubs- soft waistband. I love them!

Great pants & in LONG!!
June 17, 2010

Love these pants! I'm 5'11" and was happy to find these in long length. It's perfect for me;) Planning on taking them with me backpacking as they do dry quick! Pants fit nice in the hips with enough give to allow you to do all kinds of outdoor activities...Just what I was looking for!

Great technical pants that are cute
February 14, 2009

I love these pants. I am an avid hiker and they will work great with just the right amount of stretch. I love the ability to draw the cord in at the bottom. I am 5'3" and the short fit me perfect. They will also be a great travel pant. Love the chami lined waist. Fit true to size.

I was hiking with this pans in january (with two other under layers of course) and they were awesome, very comfortable, easy to move, super waterproof & wont make you freeze; very durable.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Cons: Cost

Nice hiking pants
April 13, 2009

These pants are great. I was looking for a light-weight hiking pant with some stretch for climbing and these fit the bill. I bought a second pair! I'm 5'7" and the length on the regular were perfect...the waist is cut liberally as they should be for trully functional pants. I am ususally a snug 8 and these 8 gave me room (as can be the case with stretchy materials).

very good, well fitting, mid waist pants
March 13, 2009

I loved the waist band and the belt loops that fit flat so as not to rub if carrying a pack, same with the waist band, the jersey goes long and snug and flat. The material is great, have already washed several times and the pants look like new.
