Fit Tip: This jacket fits true to size. If you are between sizes you should size down. Room for layering and the waist hem hits right at the hips.
Designed for the rigors of backcountry and alpine pursuits, the Mountain Hardwear GTX 2.5 for women is breathable and lightweight with something unexpected: heat. GORE-TEX® PACLITE® provides exceptional waterproof breathability and our MicroClimate Zoning System strategically welds fleece on the interior for unbeatable comfort and warmth.
Excellent Protection up on the Iron Glacier of Alaska!
I bought this to bring with me on a 12-day mountaineering course in Alaska and I was very satisfied w/ this jacket's performance. It protected me very well for hours from wind & rain, and snow when we were up on the glacier without letting in even just a bit of wetness at all. I'm 5'4" tall and weigh 118 lbs so I bought it in Size XS. It fits over 2 insulated synthetic jackets plus my OR Refuge Down Jacket easily. Even with just one fleece jacket under the GTX 2.5 jacket, it still fit over my body nicely.
A very nice blend of breathability and warmth!
I have worn this jacket for hiking in cool mist, fog and drizzle. It is a perfect blend of minimal warmth (in the right places) and water resistance. Not too bulky to roll and stuff in backpack.
Great core body fit and comfy fabric for Gore Tex.
My old Gore Tex jacket was stiff and noisy. This is softer, quieter, and more comfortable to wear. The sections of fleece lining are perfect (neck and top back). The sleeves are very long -- but the velcro staps make it adjustable. Perfect for stormy weather!
