Excellent layering piece
October 10, 2011

I don't usually buy Mountain Hardwear, but I've always been impressed by their quality and attention to details, and this piece does not disappoint. The fleece is micro grid, which creates many little air pockets around you, while keeping the weight of the garment low. The fleece is not the softest, but then again, you will have their Monkeys for that :-) They put Polartec Power Stretch panels at lower arms, and the sides, to reduce bulk - I love this feature, it makes it perfect for layering under a ski jacket. The zip neck uses a very inconspicuously tiny zipper, again, to reduce bulk. The zip neck comes up to just the right height to protect your skin. It cannot fit better on me. I'm 5'6" 110LB, and I have a small. The lower back does not flare out as some of their other pieces. I really recommend this piece.

Good layering shirt
September 27, 2011

I have two of these shirts, they are a very good layering piece. IMO, it could be worn alone in the Fall season but a person would need an additional layer for winter. It is not windproof. The material is soft and does not pile when washed. I do not know if it shrinks as I hang dry the shirts only. The fit is close but not form fitting. I can wear a light layer underneath and still be comfortable. I only gave it four stars because of the high price, but if you can get it on sale like I did, it is worth it.

Pros: Build quality, Performance
