Women's Nitrous Jacket 4.6 5 31 31
Nitrous Great jacket. Even though I live in Las Vegas, it does have all kinds of weather. This Jacket performs well in every condition that this city and surrounding areas have to offer. February 3, 2012
GREAT Jacket!! I have been looking for a warm, light and tailored jacket for layering and wearing on warmer Michigan winter days! This is it. It fits perfect and the styling details are amazing. I ordered an XS and it was a perfect fit. I am 5'3' tall and weigh 115 pounds. The length is a little longer than most of the jackets I have tried and keeps the wind from hitting at the waist! The sleeve length is long, but not too long. I would highly recommend this jacket. Best purchase of the season!! February 2, 2012
compare with Patagonia Women's Down Sweater Patagonia Women's Down Sweater is warmer then Nitrous Jacket . But Nitrous Jacket is much more dressy, fit in arm and waist. I will wear this one more often. The zipper is sticky as other review say. Otherwise this is a perfect jacket for me. January 24, 2012
Pretty Solid Down Jacket Firstly, let me say that I spent quite some time looking into various down jackets. Among these were The North Face Thunder Down Jacket, Patagonia Down Sweater, and Mountain Hardwear Phantom Jacket. For the specs, features, and preferred cut, I believe this to be the best purchase for the price. THE GOOD The jacket is EXTREMELY lightweight and compressible and YET surprisingly very warm. So far I have used it alone, used it with a light fleece underneath, and also used it as my insulation layer. Depending on the weather, it definitely served its purpose. Though it is not a rain jacket, it withstood an unexpected down pour. The added DWR is definitely a plus...you never know when you will get a few sprinkles. For those of you with longer arms and broader shoulders, this jacket is perfect. I have found that other down jackets short change me on the arm lengths. The center back length of this jacket is also a bit longer than most down jackets, which is also good and helps keep the cold wind from creeping inside. (FYI- I am about 5' 6" , 140 lbs, torso length of 16") There is also a pretty decently sized pocket (without a zipper) on the interior of the jacket which proved to be quite useful. THE BAD So far my only complaints are the feathers from time to time sneaking out (which I am sure is common to all down jackets). The zipper is a bit sticky at times, which could just be a manufacturer defect. Lastly, I think that I could have used one more pocket. BRIEF COMPARISON TO MOUNTAIN HARDWEAR PHANTOM JACKET: Nitrous is way lighter, less puffy, a bit less warm, has less pockets, and different horizontal stitching pattern (as opposed to the squared design of Phantom). Both are light weight, compressible, and keep you warm. It just depends on how warm you want to be. I borrowed my friend's Phantom jacket prior to this purchase and found that I got too hot. blue is brilliant great fit, nice womens fit...looks sharp on, can wear anywhere dinner, movies. out for a walk with the dogs, great pockets with zippers, nice soft neck zipper October 28, 2011
great styling I am a petite 6 and I currently own an XS of this jacket. It is one of my favorite jackets for its styling and versatility. When worn with a simple top underneath, the jacket is exceptionally flattering for a down jacket. It is snug and almost looks like a leather jacket from afar. I wanted to be able to wear a light sweater underneath during winter time so I decided to order another one in a bigger size (size S). I was surprised to see the big difference between XS and S. While the XS is cut too tight especially around the bust area, the small is cut far too big and fits more like a medium with sleeves that are at least 1 1/2" longer. The cut is also more straight making the arms puff up even more (Michellin man). The new jacket I ordered is so unflattering that I decided to return it to the merchant. June 28, 2011
light & Pretty I bought the jacket in size large for my 72 years old mom for her birthday gift and she hasn't seen it yet. But, it is super light, not bulky or puffy, warm, and pretty. The sleeves are long for Pettite people so I have to roll them up twice, but the cuffs blend in very well as they are part of the sleeves. I like it so much I'm gonna order one for myself. Amazing Bought this for an 8 day backpacking expedition in the Sierra Nevada range. Had an unexpected snow storm in Oct and camped and hiked in snow for five days. I was never cold. It's amazing that this tiny lightweiight jacket could pack into such a tiny space and add so much warmth. Love it. Wont' every backpack without it. May 22, 2011
Love the jacket When first took the jacket out of the bag was surprised at how light it is but after wearing it in the snow was thoroughly impressed by how warm it is and how well it worked playing in the snow. It is also quite stylish. Definitely a thumbs up!! January 10, 2011
Grey color too light/detail stitch too large I LOVE this jacket for its fit, design, and comfort. The small fit true to size and is cozy comfy with just enough sheen in the fabric. But, I ordered the light silver grey color and the detail stitching is distracting in the black thread. I was hoping for feminine feature on the shoulder, but the design is such large scale, it looks more like a geometric lesson in shapes than a pretty touch. I'll be sending it back and replacing it with the black jacket which appears to boast a matched thread color. The item could also be improved by a zipper pocket, I don't want to lose my phone on the trail! January 8, 2011
liked it I found this jacket to fit a little small.. I'm 5'4, 125lbs and the small was really tight around the hips on me.. and my hips are average I would say. So, I went with the Med, but the arms are quite long. I can roll them up with out it really being noticed because of the design. I initially bought the gray but I felt it was too light, so I'm going to exchange it for the black. I also have a bit of the "Michelin Man" shoulders, but I'm hoping with the black it won't be so noticeable. Really nice jacket though... extremely light and comfortable! January 6, 2011
Purchased it for my wife. She is tall with long arms and this coat fit perfectly. The color and shape are fantastic and the warmth for the weight is terrific. December 27, 2010
Okay Warm, soft, cool stitching. Poor fit. XS too small. S too big. Chest all bulky, sleeves narrow. November 17, 2010
Mt. Hardware down I love this jacket. It is stylish as well as functional. I would recommend this to anyone. Runs true to size. A little pricey but worth the cost. October 25, 2010
Fantastic Jacket! Made the purchase for my daughter after she saw how much my wife and I love ours, making this is the third Nitrous Jacket I have purchased. Great performance, fit and styling! August 10, 2010
Sleek Fitted Down Jacket This jacket runs true to size and hugs your curves to give you more shape than the average down jacket. The material has a nice sheen to it and the jacket is extremely light weight for being so warm. The pattern stitched into the shoulder area of the jacket adds interest and makes the jacket appropriate for casual as well as outdoor wear. May 31, 2010
Fabulous jacket!! I absolutely LOVE my Mountain Hardwear jacket!! I have never worn it yet without someone commenting on how great it looks! It is so warm and light weight, it can't be beat!! May 25, 2010
Nice look and fit I purchased this jacket as I liked that it had a unique look. I loved it except for the pockets had no closures, so I had to return it as that will not work for me. February 22, 2010
Outstanding! I'm a down junkie. For the past 3 years my favorite has been a Mountain Hardwear Voodoo Belay Conduit SL jacket. I wanted something more streamlined with no hood, but just as warm that I could wear riding my motorcycle and hiking. This is perfect; plus I got red for visibility. Super light, super warm. I wish I could afford one in every color! The fit is perfect; glad I got a small. Excellent packability. February 7, 2010
cool summer evenings or mild winter days. I have had two of these jackets for several months. They are lightweight, feminine and fit well.Great for cool summer evenings or mild winter days. Easy to stuff in small space when traveling. January 30, 2010
light, warm and fashionable only had for two weeks, but have enjoyed the comfort and warmth coupled with its very light weight January 21, 2010
favorite! great jacket! true to size. January 8, 2010
AWESOME! this jacket is my new favotite! I ordered a small (i'm 5'6 and 124 lbs) and it fits perfect. The jacket is more like a sweater (lightweight). I plan on purchasing another color as well, that's how much i like it! Well done Mountain Hardwear and thanks, Altrec for great products! January 8, 2010
Very Warm Lightweigth Jacket I bought this jacket as a Christmas gift for my wife. She loves the feel, the fit and the warmth of this jacket. She wore it in 18 degree weather with just a light sweater underneath and was warm all day. I am thinking of buying the men's version for myself. January 5, 2010
Warm for the weight, and stylish too! I'm in a wheeelchair, so it's important not to be bogged down with bulk at the arms where I need to push. Super light, almost too light if you don't wear other serious layers underneath. But over all, very warm, stylish, with a nice feminine fit. January 4, 2010
Lightweight, warm, fashionable This is a great down jacket. It is very soft and light. The color (bronze) is stylish and the fit doesn't make me feel like the michelin man. I also like the way it is a bit longer in back for warmth and flattering style. January 3, 2010
Very flattering, warm, and extremely lightweight, Bought this for my wife, and she loves it. Very flattering and warm. My wife is 5'6" and 117 lbs so I bought her xs. It fits great, however; she is returning it for a small because she wants to use layers underneath. Only negative, no interior pockets. December 26, 2009
Really nice, lightweight, and warm I really like the look and feel of this jacket. Not bulky at all. Very lightweight and roomy enough to wear a thicker shirt underneath. Very flattering to a woman's figure. December 17, 2009
Really nice, lightweight down jacket I really like the look and design of this jacket. The fabric is shiny, but the microgrid patterns gives it some texture so it doesn't look cheap. For being such a lightweight jacket, it is very warm due to the high fill content. The cut and stitching of the jacket are also very flattering. December 4, 2009
extremely lightweight, feminine fit, overall I really like it! It is stylish for a down jacket, lightweight, and great for travel. The fit is good. Only one complaint - no internal pocket. Would be nice to have one for keys, etc. October 30, 2009
so light, so warm Construction is beautiful and fits to a T. Sleeve edges are weird - but I do understand how they will work to keep the cold air from going up my arms. Very light weight and will keep me toastie! October 26, 2009
