Description

Get ready for luxurious warmth and softness you’ll never, ever, want to take off when you pull on the Mountain Hardwear Pyxis Jacket for women. Cute and feminine, this fleece jacket will treat you right in town but is technical enough to take on the hiking trails or out for a day of shredding on the slopes, layered under a ski shell. The Pyxis is made from Mountain Hardwear’s Voluptuous™ Velboa high loft fleece for performance that blocks a little wind, traps body heat, wicks moisture and dries out quickly. Zippered hand pockets are placed high for convenience to climbers and backpackers and a drawcord at the hem helps seal in the warmth. Cute and huggable, the Mountain Hardwear Women's Pyxis Jacket offers plush warmth AND style.

Just what I needed
December 23, 2011

Needed something warm and comfy for everyday errands as well as when I do some exercise be it running or biking. I can wear this all day as it doesn't look like a simple jogging jacket; it has some style. Lightweight, warm, also makes a good base layer under my ski jacket. I like the full zip to the top of the collar. 5'7', 120 and the medium was a good fit.

Pros: Performance, Ease of use, nice feminine fit

Scrumptious jacket
July 10, 2011

I have to admit that I haven't worn this jacket much because it's been too warm since I got it but I go to my closet occasionally just to pet it. It is luxuriously soft. It has an easy curve to the fit, flattering without being clingy. Great colors. I would call it a mid weight jacket. I have seen Mountain Hardware jackets that were of similar fabric but a bit heavier. I prefer this more versatile weight.....good for layering or for indoors on a really cold day. I will love wearing it.

good fall and early winter jacket
August 20, 2011

The jacket is very soft and fits well. I find the jacket most useful in the Fall and early winter months (as a layer). It doesn't provide much wind protection, but with my gortex jacket over the Pyxis jacket I was comfortable in 40 degree temperatures. I can wear the jacket alone in 60 degree temps and be comfortable. The jacket is true to size. I wear usually a Large in Mt Hardwear clothing and it fits well. Not boxy, not a close fit. I can wear medium weight sweater underneath the jacket. Washes well, doesn't pile. I don't dry the jacket in the dryer, I hang dry so, I can't comment on if it shrinks or not. I would buy another jacket if it were on sale. It is on the expensive side.

Pros: Build quality, Ease of use, Cons: Cost

Great, SOFT jacket!
January 22, 2011

This is a very soft, plush fleece. It has nice details, to make it feminine and not boxy. I love the zippered pockets and the coziness of it. I would describe the fit as running a bit small, depending on your plans for this jacket. I am 5'5" and 130 lbs. I am usually a small in tops. However, I ordered a medium because I wanted to be able to wear this over long-sleeves, and light sweaters. It is perfect...a small would have been too small for that. I hope this helps!

Great but sleeves are short
April 03, 2012

SUPER soft fleece and great color (I ordered the Jewel). Feels great but the sleeves were too short. I ordered a Small and I'm 5'10", 130lbs. So if you're long and lanky, get a Medium I guess. That's what I'm going to try and do because I love this jacket. Hope the medium works! I love that there's a drawstring at the bottom so you can cinch it to keep the wind out. Two pockets are warm and big.

Love this jacket!
January 16, 2012

I am very satisfied with my choice. I first got a patagonia R2 fleece that was more expensive and returned it cause I didn't like the color. I decided to shop some other options before just replacing it with another R2 and I'm glad I did. This one was cheaper which made me nervous cause I thought maybe it wasn't as comfy or warm, but honestly I like it a lot better than the patagoinia. I love the fit, very flattering. It is so soft and warm and feels like an overall high quality product! Save yourself $50 and just get this one.

Great jacket
October 25, 2011

The Pyxis jacket is made of very soft material and keeps me quite warm. My only slight complaint is that the sleeves are a tad short (though the body fits well), so keep this in mind if you have long arms.

In love
June 19, 2011

I'm in love with this fleece! It is the only fleece I have ever tried that fits me and doesn't look like I'm a 12 year old boy! It's cut super cute and flattering on the waist and hips. I am 5' 3'' and 95 lbs it's really difficult to find anything that remotely fits that isn't cut for kids. I got the XS. It's also cozy, warm and soft. I got it to layer in the winter but I've been wearing it everyday running errands and such. I'm going to be buying another, I just have to decide on a color!

Love it!
February 28, 2011

I was looking for a lighweight jacket to wear in the spring and fall. I love it! It is perfect! I ordered a small, even though I tend to be a smaller medium. I'm glad I did. The medium would have been too big, especially in the shoulders. (I'm 5'6"/130lbs) I have been wearing it several times a week. It is super soft and perfect to throw over a short sleeve shirt in the morning when it is still chilly outside. A great purchase that will get a ton of wear!

Mountain Hardwear does it again!
July 30, 2011

Must confess I am a Mountain Hardwear fan and this fleece just confirms it. I bought (and returned) quite a few fleeces last winter and they were either scratchy on the inside, or fit like a box, usually both. This fleece fits really nicely, not tight but with some curves. And super soft. And comfortable inside as well as out. It's a keeper!

Nice jacket but..
December 22, 2011

This jacket would be perfect in every way possible if the sleeves were a tad bit longer. The rest of the jacket has a true to size fit. Haven't tested it yet but so far it seems warm enough for cool nights or to be thrown under a hard shell.

This is the SOFTEST jacket! This is a great, soft jacket that you can wear instead of a sweatshirt. It's great for layering under your parka, since it is not bulky. I would highly recommend this jacket. After ordering mine, I also got one for my daughter =)

This jacket has a more feminine cut than The North Face line of jackets. This jacket is incredibly soft and comfortable. My daughter loves this jacket!
