First pair of "hiking" pants
September 17, 2010
I am a newbie in the hiking/backpacking world, and when I went out to find a nice pair of pants I felt pretty bad. I'm above average height, 5'9", and wear anywhere from size 6-10 depending on the pants. I tried on at least 10 different pants, just to find that they were all very restricting - too tight in certain areas, or too baggy in the waist, or just unflattering. I found these Mountain Hardwear Yuma pants and tried them on... awesome fit! Stretchy material gives the ability to manuever better and they look nice. Unfortunately I felt like I was wearing highwaters when I tried them on. Found them online in a size Long - perfect. They have nice cargo pockets and a drawcord at the bottom in case you want to shorten them up for water-crossings. One negative - no top pockets, front or back. I haven't worn them enough to know the durability but so far so good!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of usegreat pants!

I love these pants, I wear them to work, out to dinner, snowshoeing, even just watching football. They are wash and wear, and they dry quickly in case you should be caught in a wet snowstorm! I highly recommend them.

Happy hiking.

Very comfortable pants. The rise was a bit higher than expected. At 5'9" 139lb. I thought I'd get an 8 long but it was waaayyy too long and returned it for a regular. That little bit a stretch means it always well. Don't know if I missed this on the description but there is a bungie cord at the ankle. These will work well through our central California coast winters unless we get those bone chilling days. They even work riding my bike riding my bike around town.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of useLove These Pants

These pants are the best! I plan to take them to Kilimanjaro! They are so comfortable, so durable, and if you catch them when they are on sale, you cannot beat that deal! On a side note, the convertible version is great too but I think they are a little long when you just wear them as shorts.
Pros: Great design, Build qualityPerfect Hiking Pants
April 05, 2010
I love these! They are the most flexible hiking pants I own, and are very lightweight. The inner waist material is very soft....and you can't beat free shipping. I found these pants in a popular outdoor clothing store, tried them on, loved them, and came home to find them cheaper online. This was perfect!

Great Pants
April 13, 2011
These pants are really comfortable and the fabric is breathable and moves easy. The problem is the cargo pockets, which I thought were really cute in the picture, pull the thighs of the pants out so they end up looking a little like riding crops. Granted, I am shorter (5'4") and curvy so they may just not work on my body type. I will be regretfully returning these pants, but will try something similar.
Pros: Build quality, Performance, Cons: Bad designLove These Pants!
June 06, 2011
I bought these pants to use backpacking. I like the draw string feature at the ankle. I can cinch the pants around my boots, so I don't have to bother with gaiters on a rocky trail. Also, the pants don't absorb water. I have worn these pants through rivers, and they are relatively dry on the other side. Lastly, the cargo pockets expand enough to carry everything that I want to have on hand.
Pros: Great design, Build qualityLove these pants

Pockets will hold a passport and smartphone. Super comfortable and stretchy. The waistband lining is comfortable and soft. Perfect for hiking or wearing around town. Definitely sporty.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, stretchy, Cons: CostGreat pants!

Very comfortable, great fit (I'm 5'8", 135 pounds and got the size 8 long). Easy to move around in. Looks good too! I'd recommend these pants for hiking or for travel or both.
Pros: Great design, Performance, fit!Ran one size small
September 26, 2012
Great pants! I own a few convertible pair in a 2 and they fit perfect, but a 2 in these was a bit tight. I need to order a 4. These pants have a great feel and stretch, but are both smaller and shorter than the convertible pants in the same size.
New Favorites!
April 14, 2011
Recently wore these pants on a couple 10 mile hikes. Chamois lining around the waist is super comfortable for extended wear. Nylon material is durable ... hiked through low scrub with no snags. Although I'm 5'6" and generally wear average length pants, I ordered the "short" length as I've noticed most hiking pants seem to run long ... perfect and flattering fit!! Only one minor complaint ... the drawstring has "glued" ends to keep material from unravelling. Seems like a lower quality design than the sewn ends on another pair of Mountain Hardware pants I own. Overall, very pleased with my purchase ... plan to buy another pair in black.
Pros: Great design, PerformanceRun a little long
December 21, 2010
Like my other mountain hardwear hiking pants, these run a little long and a little small. The cut is great; even a bit feminine (for a change!). Very comfortable. I am 5'4" and 110 lbs and normally wear a 2 or 4 - I took the advice of others and ordered the 4 -they fit great, but the regular length is a bit long for me. I may return them for the shorter length. Overall, very well made, dry quickly, lightweight.
Pros: Great design, Build qualityGreat all around pants
September 06, 2011
I wore these while hiking in the Ecuadorian rainforest and they were extremely comfortable and durable. They have a good bit of stretch that is helpful for big steps. This is not relevant everywhere, but these pants were also great at keeping mosquitoes away while allowing your legs to breathe (i.e., not hot and uncomfortable as rain pants). The pants are also excellent for travel as they are comfortable, but aren't as frumpy as some typical travel / hiking pants.

Yuma Pants
February 17, 2013
I bought a pair of Yuma pants at a store and loved them right away. So much so that I wanted to get more, and I did, 2 more pair in other colors. I am a photographer and go a lot of places. The stretchy fabric of the yuma pants allows me to bend any way in amazing comfort. I now wear mine every day, even when not shooting because they look stylish too.

Women's Yuma Pants
February 07, 2011
These pants run a bit small. I usually take a size 2 and had to exchange for a 4 to get the waist and rise to fit correctly. The lenght (long) is true to size. The material is very comfortable and moves with the body well. I do not know about durability because I have yet to test them in rugged conditions, but I like the 'seamless' waist feature - good for backpacking.

Nice pants
February 26, 2012
Not as nice a fit as the Yuma convertible--straighter legs, looser derriere, bigger waist. But I can wear thin long underwear under these pants (the lined Yuma was sold out) with no problem. The fabric is less shiny than the Yuma convertible, it seems to me, and attracts more stuff in the field (may just look that way because these are black). Briars snag but so far haven't made a hole. I'm 5'3" and 112 and got a 6.
Pros: Ease of use, Great valueMountain Hardware Pants
January 26, 2012
I love the Mountain Hardware pants for hiking and canyoneering. Very comfortable and durable. I just wish they had more colors available in my size and if so, I would pick up several pair because it's hard for me to find pant that fit me right.

Great Pants
April 26, 2012
Am a photographer and was looking for a go-to pant for every day use. These definitely fit the bill. They look great on and have pockets right where you can handily get into them on the legs which is perfect for camera batteries or cell phones. If your like me, I go up and down sizes quickly, so I ended up ordering a lower size 6 for me for now and an 8 for winter or on my up days. I can wear both the 6 and 8 right now as the pants have a draw string in the waist which is nice. The only complaint I have which is probably minor is that they are a little noisy when walking. It's hard to sneak up on wildlife in a hurry. They dry quick when wet which is awesome and I can easily layer silk underneath for the colder days. They are light and can easily be packed. I am about 5'4 and the regular length works for me, but I would like them personally a little longer only because I wear them all the time and I don't like my socks showing when I sit down. If the long ever becomes available in black in size 6, I'll see how those work. They are a bit pricey, so I'll probably limit my purchases to sales, but they pants are great. Love them!

Nice hiking pants
October 08, 2012
Very light, nice hiking pants. The sizing runs smaller than Yuma convertible. I am going to return Yuma convertible, and order different color of Yuma pants.
Pros: Performance, Ease of useLove Mountain Hardware!!!

As usual, this is another wonderful Mountain Hardware product for fellow outdoor lovers. Great for hiking in the summer - lightweight and a good fit. I have both the Mesa and Yuma pants - both are very good products.

May 30, 2012
These are the most comfortable technical hiking pants I've ever owned. They don't have features like zip-off legs or big cargo pockets - which aren't always necessary anyway. If you want comfortable, mid-weight hiking pants that look great and clean up nicely, look no further.
Pros: Great design, super comfycomfort plus
July 22, 2012
These pants are exceptionally comfortable! I am 5'3", 145#'s . I ordered the 10 reg; the length is a tad long, the fit was nice, not snug. I actually like a snug fit when stretch is an equation,so reordered the size 8 - mistake! the 10 was the correct size - which is what I would normally order. The first wearing was a cooler day with rain and I contemplated whether or not I should wear a legging underneath for warmth. Decided to wear just the Yuma pant and never got chilled or wet! It was a steady light rain so I was pleasently surprised. I would strongly suggest you to have these pants in your closet if you play any sport with wet or cold elements involved. Oh - one more comment, they look great too! A true winner in my book.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Great valueLove Them
January 23, 2013
I bought a second pair on sale because I love these! They are extremely comfortable, wear well for hiking and traveling. I have washed them, and they dry overnight, making them a great travel/hiking pant!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performancenice pants!
May 02, 2011
The fabric is stretchy and doesn't bind. There is no gapping in the waist (as many pants do) and the drawstring helps with any additional adjustment. They seem to be made for a woman with curves. The legs have a pleasant loose fit that is still flattering. I like that they have cargo pockets because they can hold bulkier items without the item pushing into your leg. I am 5'2" and the short length fit well. I ordered my standard size. They also have an ankle drawstring which might eliminate the need for scree gaiters on dusty trails. However, I just noticed that there are still some zip-off models available online (must be from an older season) so I might be exchanging these for the zip-off version. I think Mountain Hardwear should make the zip-off again.
Yuma women's pant
July 14, 2011
I love these pants! I got them for golf but use them also for traveling and hiking. Very breathable and stretchable fabric...does not wrinkle and nicely fitted. I got the 8L because I am 5'9" (33" inseam). They are perfect. I am very happy with this pant and look forward to getting another pair in another color....sure to be a staple in my wardrobe!

March 20, 2011
These are the best fitting and performing pants I have ever purchased or worn. I have the convertible and regular Yuma pant and can wear them on the town then go hiking, climbing and cinch up the bottoms to rip up a couple trails on my mountain bike (that is if they aren't smelling too bad by then:) No seriously, these are one of the best purchases you'll make. The material never looks dirty and brushes off with just a couple swipes of a glove, hand or cloth and they last forever plus look amazing on! I am 5'2" 115lbs and wear the 2 reg.

Comfortable pants
January 19, 2011
These pants are great! They're so comfortable and I like that I can wear them with any type of shoes and they still look great. I am 5'5", so I ordered these pants in a short length and they're the perfect length. Hope this helps.

So Comfortable!
November 18, 2011
I ordered the Women's Yuma Pant after seeing a co-worker- who is an avid hiker- wearing them. They looked comfortable and practical, so I decided to give them a try! I was immediately pleased with the stretch and give- they're so comfortable! I was a little disappointed in the quality of the seams, as a short hike in the woods, wading through thorn bushes, immediately snagged a seam, which started to come undone. I was amazed at the capacity of the pockets! ONE easily held at least eight small to medium sized items I need for the day. The fit was true to size; I ordered a size larger to accommodate long underwear and it worked great. Overall, a good buy.

good pants for everyday outdoor use
May 17, 2011
I bought these pants for trekking and rock climbing and so far have gotten good use out of them. Some chafing the first few times I used but after washing a couple of times, I had no more problems. Appear to be durable, as have used a fair bit when rock climbing and the pants don´t show any wear. Great pants for the price.

Make too much noise
January 21, 2011
These pants fit very well, but they make too much noise when I walk. I did not think that I would wear them to work so I returned them. I would suggest a better fabric.
Cons: Bad designyuma pants
September 20, 2011
These pants are extremely comfortable and very durable. I have 2 pairs and they both seem to be my favorite thing to wear. They are lightweight and stretch with every move. They keep their shape and shed dirt. I love them. I am 120 lbs. 5'5" and size 6 fits comfortable without being too snug or too loose.

Best Go-To Pants
February 28, 2012
After wearing the convertible Mesa pants for 10 days in Costa Rica, I couldn't wait to order the non-convertible Yumas. I ordered a pair in sand and one in black. Both pairs fit just as perfectly as my original Mesas. This was a first as I have never had 3 pairs of pants fit via internet purchase - ever! Although nearly 60, 5'4" and 130 lbs., a 6 P fits me perfectly - and fits my active lifestyle. These are the most comfortable pants for traveling by plane or car, walking, looking dressy when needed, are long enough to cover the tops of shoes/boots, and can be washed and dried quickly. They were comfortable in temperatures from the mid-60's to the high-80's, while the convertible Mesas were great for the 90's. Neither were warm enough for me when the temperature dropped in the low 60's and 50's. Weather permitting, they are my go-to pants!
Pros: Great design, Performance, Ease of use, beyond comfortablefirst time
July 17, 2012
This is my first pair of Yuma pants and I was very pleased with the comfort. They are very lightweight, dry very quick and seem to shed dirt. The pockets made it handy for snacks or a small camera handy. Im 5' 4" and 135 and the size 4 fit quite nice. I did not get the zip off legs as I thought it would help with protecting my legs from bug bites and vegatation. I got the reg length but might try the short next time. overall they are a great comfortable light weight pant that cleans up well.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great valueGREAT pants
June 27, 2011
I have a few of the zip off styles of this pants and wanted to get another color when I found these. I was unaware that they were not the zip off version, however, they are still great pants and you can't go wrong with them. They are so comfortable and can endure just about anything I have put them thru. I love how the bottoms tie up when I need them to when I'm out in the woods and don't want critters getting up my pants legs. They have the two pockets on the side that are perfectly placed and carry lots of my stuff. Basically these pants can go from dress up to climbing in the woods. The only ones I will not wear with dressup is a pair that I got a few years back when Mountain Hardware was making their logo with brighter threads on the pocket so it makes it obvious that they are not dress pants. However, all the others, nobody knows the difference and I wear them with everything!

Nice but not consistent
June 14, 2012
I own two pairs of these Yumas, one in 8S and the other in 10S. Although I love that they're convertible, made of comfy material and that the zippers are covered with fabric on both the outside and inside (to prevent chafing), I didn't give it full stars because they are inconsistent in fit. And this has proven terribly frustrating to me so be forewarned! I have one version with a solid grey chamois lining (in the waistband). Those I have in 8S. Then I have a pair with a mesh grey lining but the snap tab is a different shape. Those I'd advise sizing up - I got them in 10S. Finally, there's a third variation out there that has a mesh lining BUT... there is no tab where the snaps are. Instead, the two snaps are vertical, not sitting horizontally on a fabric tab. These I suggest sizing down. Otherwise, these are great pants.
Pros: Great design, Ease of use, Cons: sizing inconsistencyWrite a review for the Mountain Hardwear Yuma Pants here.
Great pants!
January 23, 2012
This is my second pair of Mountain Hardwear Yuma Pants. Last year I bought the convertible zip-off pants and loved them. Both fit so well. They are the most comfotable pants I own -- love the fitted waist the lies so flat, the 4 way stretch is great and they are light weight. Honestly, there is nothing I don't like about these pants ... only suggestion ..more colors!

10 long too short
June 29, 2011
I have worn the MH Yuma in 12 long, but recently lost 10 pounds, was tripping all over them. I ordered 10 long, needed them for a trip (great for airplane travel, good stretch), and I looked like I was wearing waders...much too short. On the Altrec order site, there is a Long and there a L, two different things. What means what? I am so disappointed. I am not that tall, only 5'9", need 33-34 inseams, but these are barely 32. UGH.
Cons: long too shortAWESOME PANTS!!!
January 05, 2011
Mountain Hardwear has done it again, gone above and beyond the call of duty :) Durable, stretchy fabric, never seems to get dirty (or show the dirt) Super comfortable, look amazing on, this is my second pair and am looking to get a third! Hike, climb or just wear these around town, great pants! Fit true to size, I'm 5'2" 115lbs and the size 2 Reg fits just right.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valuegreat pant for safari and long plane rides
July 11, 2010
Great fit, especially around waist and hip--very smooth and flattering. Terrific that a short length is available. Stretch in fabric makes them very cozy. I wore on a 18 hour plane ride and was comfortable.
Best pants
February 06, 2013
these are aweome pants. Dry super quick. They hold up surprisingly well. They survived unexpected scrambling over trees and rocks at the Smokies two weeks ago. One of my best purchases. love the stretchy fabric too.
Pros: Great design, Build qualityExtremely comfortable
February 25, 2011
Fit is very true to size. Fabric is soft, breathable and has plenty of "give". I am 5'3 1/2" and found that SHORT fit best. I usually don't buy anything in short. Like them so much I bought another pair in black. Alltrec Customer Service is the greatest. I love doing business with them. Thanks!

Great fit but a little shorter than the typical MH longs
August 31, 2010
Overall great pant but if a regular is exact length for you, you may need the long. Long was just a little shorter than ideal for me but ok. For me I am a 33" inseam and this was just barely there. The Mountain Hardwear Yuma pant is a bit longer and cut a little fuller.
great pants
April 05, 2012
The only negative I would have is they are a l little loud when walking. Not a huge deal for me but someone may find it bothersome. Fit is great, very flattering and comfortable. Have 3 pairs now, and may get more! Very well designed as well. Length was good, but i am 5ft4 so if you are much taller you might find them on the sort side. I bought regular length.
Pros: Great design, Performance, Ease of use, Great valuebest purchase
August 15, 2012
These pants are the best ever, light comfortable and RAINPROOF. I purchased them to wear while playing golf, and they paid off. the fit was perfect for a5'6 woman of 160lbs. I would definitly recomend to anyone Luv5grandkids
Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueNot flattering
August 29, 2011
These pants would be amazingly comfortable and functional. They have great stretch and I liked the tie waistband. However, there are bulky pockets over the upper thighs. This is the area where I do not need more fabric. So I will be returning these sadly. I got the khaki color so maybe the darker colors would be more flattering.
Pros: Build quality, Cons: Bad designGreat fit, stretchy
August 12, 2010
I love the feel of these pants; they have some stretch to them so they are easy to move around in. They fit great and actually look very flattering!
Great fitting pant for walking & hiking
May 19, 2010
I bought these for hiking but found them so comfortable, I bought several pair in different colors for everyday use. The design of the waist band is great! The fabric has a nice feel and would dry very quickly if rained on or washed during a trip.
