Good meal but....
August 11, 2011

Great meal to have, but not exactly something you would want to pack if you are going to be out for a while. The cheese in the meal can be a pain to clean from your utensil(s), especially if you carry one of the GSI sporks from their cooksets. The cheese gums up and is impossible to get cleaned off. Had the lasagna on the first day out on a section on the AT, and had to deal with it for the next 3 days.

Good portion, little bland
August 22, 2012

The ProPaks are great because they give you a bit more of a singel portion, and they are vacum sealed to take up less space. The lasgna dinner is a little bland though, and the cheese turns into this plastic that cements to anything it touches. I remembered this thankfully from a few years ago, so I ate it straight from the bag and only had to chip orange plastic bits off my spoon.

Pros: great portion, Cons: little bland for flavor, scary plastic cheese

Good flavor- One of their best meals

Just the right portion for breakfast or lunch. Get the two serving non-pro pac for dinner. The pro pacs are light. I wish all the Mountain House meals were packaged this way.

Tastes Great - A Perfect Portion
May 30, 2008

I tried the Pro Paks for the first time on a recent trip. I really liked them but did not give the Lasagna 5 stars just because the ingredients include 1.5 grams of trans fat. I try to avoid this in my diet. However, it tasted great and the portion was just right - unlike those other freeze dried meals that serve 2. I find those to be a bit too filling for me (even after a hard day) if I'm not sharing it with someone else.

I have been eating these Mountain House lasagnas fro years and they never disappoint. When you have been out in a wilderness area for several days the thought of one of these for dinner brings a smile to your face. Just wish they were less money.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Cons: Cost
