In a Class of Their Own
October 23, 2010

Everything about these pants says value and quality. They are extremely comfortable, have carefully taped seems that don't chafe, no loose threads and are virtually indestructible. I recommend them without reservation. Nice to see such a top rate garment still made onshore here in the USA.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Great value, comfort

The absolute best!

A great pair of cords!

Excellent choice
August 25, 2009

The cords are my 6th pair of MKs; the fit on each pair, as well as the quality, are far above any other pants I own. Wish they came in more colors. They're pricey, but worth it. Also, Altrec is a great company to deal with.

Exactly what you're looking for...
April 05, 2010

I can't say enough good things about the way these pants fit. I wear a 32x32 in nearly everything, but have had issues hitting and missing with MK pants in the past. These are different, and I think it has to do with the material being made with 3% nylon or something that provides a slight stretch and also less shrinking. Not a problem with these. Will be ordering the blue ones ASAP.

Thick and Comfortable
October 06, 2010

These cords are thick, soft and comfortable. They have the feel of sweat pants but look nice enough to wear out on the town. The stretchy fabric and baggy fit will accommodate a base layer for cold conditions.

October 28, 2013

These are quality cords, just as you would expect from MK. They run a little long, but snug in the high waist. They are exceptionally heavy as well. The dark blue is nearly black and looks dark grey in person.

October 20, 2011

I love these cords. The fabric is a nice, heavy weight that feels great on cold days, and the chocolate color is very deep and lustrous. These aren't just pants. They're superpants!

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use

Superior quality and workmanship.
July 27, 2009

These pants are the best casual corduroys I own. Superior workmanship, attention to detail, and fit. As with all Mountain Khakis products, they cost a bit more, but wear amazingly well and end up being a bargain. Heavier weight cotton than most cords.

Great Product
August 03, 2009

The Cottonwood Cords are a great pair of pants. They are well made and the sizing is quite accurate. The pants have a relaxed fit without being baggy. I own a few different pants from Mountain Khakis and have been pleased with them all. Highly recommended,

Cottonwood Cord
January 22, 2011

This is my first pair of MK pants, i have been searching for a long time to find cords that fit this well. It is hard to find pants in a 36" inseam and for them to fit. These do that and they fit true to size. They are warm and i love the pockets. Will definatley buy another color.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Great value

REALLY relaxed fit
November 13, 2010

I am a shorter (5'6") and slim person, so I felt that the Mountain Khaki cut would work for me, as other reviews have commented on the fit being on the small side. However, the relaxed fit with the gussets are just too roomy for me from the waist down through the legs. The legs are also cut fairly wide, so there is a flare-bottom look, a little too wide for my exact liking. What I do appreciate is the outstanding quality--the fabric is substantial, soft, with stretch for comfort. There is attention to detail, like the double front right pocket, double layered cuff at the heel area, and an accent ribbon stitched around the inside of the waistband. I thought the Mountain Khakis were Made in USA, but these cords are made in Cambodia. This is a high-quality pant, able to take some heavy activity, and good if you prefer a very relaxed fit through the seat on down, with a wide cuff. Unfortunately, the style doesn't quite match me.

Good quality, baggy fit
December 05, 2010

In general, we love the Mountain Khaki brand. They are the only company we've found to make sizes for tall men who want decent tailoring with some style. (Usually clothes for tall people are too "wide.") We love the alpine utility pant for this reason - good quality, long lengths. These cords are very nice quality and in good sizes (long lengths.) The fit it a little more baggy in the leg than we like but manageable. Mountain Khaki pants always have a double pocket on the right side - a feature we love. Also, they reinforce the pants in key places, like the back of the ankle, where wear and tear can occur. Also, the waistband is reinforced. In general, very happy with the pants, just wish the legs were slightly more tailored.

Pros: Build quality, Cons: mediocre tailoring

Comfortable cords
September 14, 2009

The stretch fabric plus good fit makes the cords an excellent pant. The fact that a 36" long pant is available makes these very important to a 6'-5" man like me. The pants are well made with added stitching and strenghtened areas. The 25% off sale price made them even better and I tried to get more but you were out of stock.

September 29, 2011

The fit and quality of these pants is worth the fairly high cost of the product. The good news is that I will not need to buy pants for some time. The only thing that buyers should note is that due to the aggressive engineering (multiple reinforced parts) of these pants, they will definitely feel encased in fabric.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, Cons: Cost

Cottonwood Cords-great pants!
October 03, 2011

I recently purchased a pair of the cottonwood cords and I couldn't be happier. The fit is perfect just like the other three pair of Mountain Khaki's I now own. They are warm and built to last. The added gusset makes these pants more comfortable than any other brand I have ever owned. I see no reason to wear other brands of pants now that I have found Mountain Khaki's. Thanks!

Cottonwood Cords
December 22, 2010

This is my 6th pair of MK pants. The great thing about these cords is that they have a small amount of spandex that "gives" with movement. That & the gusseted crotch make them comfortable all day long. I doubt you could find a diamond crotch on any other cords out there! In the past, on some of MK's other products (original pants), I had been disappointed with the waist size being too small. I wear a 36 inch waist & depending upon the particular pair of pants, the waist was simply too tight. The 36 inch waist on these cords is "snug", but with the spandex, they're comfortable.

Comfortable!
November 16, 2011

These cords are comfortable...a bit more stretchy than I anticipated, which makes them feel a little odd (for cords) but not a major distraction. I find them more comfortable than the MK khakis. The material of the cords also feels a bit thin (in contrast to khakis which feel stiff), which gives me pause on durability. Am looking to buy a second pair of these cords because they are.....comfortable.

Pros: comfort, Cons: feel thin

Like all Mountain Khakis pants, quality is excellent and they just feel great to wear. These cords are no exception, and IMO the dark brown looks sharp. They do run a bit larger in general and notably longer than same sized khakis by MK, but hopefully will shrink to fit as all my other MK do.

Cottonwood Cord
March 05, 2011

Cords were a little darker in color than expected (slate blue), but otherwise perfect. Very soft and durable. Best cords around. Outside MK original mountain jean, the MK Cottonwood Cords are best casual pants I own. Cannot go wrong with anything made by MK.

Pros: Great design, Build quality

Great pants!
August 14, 2009

I love these pants. They are comfortable and have a little stretch to them. They are very sturdy and well made. This is my 2nd pair and it was terrific to find them on sale.

Do Not Buy!
November 03, 2009

Do not buy this product! they are overpriced and Mountain Khakis do not stand behind their product. I love the gusseted crotch, however they are not built to last. I bought a pair 3 months ago and yesterday, I literally sat down in my office and the pants ripped. Not along a seam, just ripped right in the middle of the leg fabric. There wasn't even a whole there to cause a rip! I had to leave the office and head home to change. I contacted the Mountain Khakis customer service, and they basically responded "what do you want us to do...", well stand behind your product and replace them! If they cannot withstand the rigors of the workplace, how then on the Mtn will they hold up? These should be called Bunny slope Khakis. The only thing Mtn about them is the overpriced price tag. If you want something that will last and is a solid investment, buy Carhartt or Patagonia. At least they stand behind their product. If I had actually worn them this weekend on my backpacking trip, I would be left half naked on the hillside. Do not buy!!!

My son hates to shop, so I Shop on-line for clothes for him for birthdays etc. He is on the thin size and doesn't like pants that emphasize that. These MK cords fit perfectly. I ordered the size 32 which are just a little big at the waist ( which he likes) and a 31" Length. I read that these ran a little long, normally I order a 32. He is pleased, once again.

Pros: Great design

great cords; inconsistent sizing
January 04, 2011

have had a pair of these for a few years now—love them. inconsistent sizing, however... in one color the 32x30 fits, in another it's the 32x32. holding two pairs in the same size up to one another and there are obviously serious discrepancies in length; totally a manufacturing issue that needs to be resolved. still, great cords.

spent a while deciding whether or not to buy these pants, but I'm very glad I did. They're very comfortable and seem pretty durable so far. MK advertises them as being as comfy as sweatpants, and I've certainly found that to be the case. Good buy.

Really Nice Pants!
August 19, 2011

Very comfortable cords. Feels like you are wearing sweats! I love the Spandex which stretches and moves with you! They are constructed very well of quality, heavy weight material. Relaxed fit. Sewn to last a lifetime. I own several pair. Only downside is that it seems that no two pair in a given size seem to fit the exactly the same. This fact would be good for someone looking for an exact fit. Also, I wish they made a 33" inseam. Great pants overall!

Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, very comfortable, Cons: Cost, sizes vary
