Its A Pot No More, No Less
January 22, 2005
Well it has been said by the others and I agree. It is a pot. It boils water. However, it makes it difficult to eat and cook out of. If you want to carry a vessel that can really only be used for one purpose then by all means buy one. But a traditional pot with lid would be more versatile.

Does it's job.

What can you say? It's supposed to boil water and it does. It's a good size, fairly light and sturdy. The lid fis nice and tight. It's really not a good shape if you plan on useing it for cooking and eating out of "1 pot style". For my boil water type usage it works well.

This is a nice, compact stainless steel teapot--with a handy pouring spout.
Tea for two, or four!

Hubby and I have used this on 4-5 trips now. No, you can't cook in it -- that's not what it was designed for. We like simplicity and make "just add boiling water" meals. This heats enough water for that plus extra for coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. The handles can get hot when used with a windscreen but all you need is a bandanna. Although it doesn't show it or say it in the description, it does have measurement markings for .5 and 1 liters visible inside and out. P.S. We use it with a Trangia alcohol stove and it works great.
Practical item.

It's the perfect size for boiling water for one. Although the summary says it holds 1.5 liters, it actually holds only one. The handles are adequate for a filled teapot, and I can stuff the inside with small items so they won't get lost in my backpack. I could eat out of it, but haven't tried that yet.
Great for Heating Liquids

Great for heating liquids but that's about it. Difficult to use as an all around pot.
Great Product from MSR

This product is as advertised. Like all products that MSR makes it's a must. When I head into the BWCA I need a kettle for boiling water that is light and safe (won't burn my hands). This is the ticket, it fits right in my MSR alpine kit and works like a charm. I highly reccomend this product, worth it's money.
can do great job

I was happy using this one over 7 years but now the handle fell down so it is useless now. Going to buy new one since I couldn't find anything better.
