Great upgrade for growing kids
October 09, 2011
We've enjoyed our MSR Evo Ascent adult snowshoes for years and were excited to find these for our son who has outgrown his first set of kid snowshoes. The Shift is very well made and is super secure and technically capable on icy slopes - also floats much better in deep powder than traditional kid shoes. As a result we are no longer limited to flatter lowland "kid" routes close to the snowpark lot and can head further up into the mountains for bigger adventures and more distant backcountry destinations which is much more fun for the whole family.
Probably a little too big for kids under 8, but should get you well through elementary school and junior high before there's a need to trade-up to adult shoes. Given the amazing MSR quality they'll probably be in such good shape when you're ready to swap that you'll get most of your money back out of them when the time comes!
Overall a great value and much needed product that fills a void for budding winter adventurers!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value
