Description

Perfect for women or any hiker with a narrower gait, the Women's MSR Lightning Axis 22 Snowshoes will let you walk efficiently and easily over any winter terrain. The Axis Gait bindings adjust bilaterally to accommodate toe-in and toe-out strides to keep the snowshoes moving parallel so they won’t trip you up. From rolling hills, to deep snowy flats to a steep climb up to the summit, the aluminum frames have 360° Traction teeth on the sides of the frame and steel crampons underfoot for biting grip on hard snow and ice. With the flick of your pole you can engage the heel lifting Ergo Televators to help on ascents. Add another strap across the top of your foot (sold separately for more security or add on the 5-inch tails (also sold separately) for more flotation in deep snow or under a heavy load when you’re headed into the backcountry for a weekend away. Versatile, comfy and outfitted with advanced traction, these MSR Snowshoes are perfect for a wide range of abilities in any winter conditions.

Great snowshoes!
March 11, 2011

These snowshoes are great if you're looking to gain some elevation. I like the narrower width of the lighting ascent (since women have narrower hips other wider snowshoes can cause you to trip over them). I definitely recommend MSR products, as I think the quality is definitely worth the price tag. The ascent has the televator bar, which is great for going up steep slopes. I'm 5'6 and 130 lbs (and additional 20 lb pack) and I have no problems sinking into the snow with these snowshoes.

Pros: Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value
