Description

Keep your hands dry and protected on your backcountry expeditions with the men's Mountain Hardwear Pistolero Gloves. These tough, versatile cold-weather gloves are built from water-resistant goatskin leather and double shot Velboa™ Raschel and tricot fleece lining. An OutDry® waterproof laminate is bonded directly to the outer shell for superior waterproof and windproof protection, and Q.Shield™ extreme water repellency treatment repels water like a force-field for the life of the glove, keeping the glove dry even when it is dunked in water. Water-resistant pigskin reinforcements on the palm and fingers take the burliness factor up a few notches, while corded nylon at the back of the hand provides a stretchy and flexible fit. A short gauntlet with Velcro® wrist closure delivers a secure fit, while the trim, articulated design offers excellent grip, flexibility and finger sensitivity. The carabiner loop lets you clip the gloves to your jacket or harness, and the pull-on webbing loop at the wrist helps you quickly yank them on as the storm system approaches.

not warm
November 28, 2011

These gloves are not warm. Riding my bicycle to work two miles in slightly freezing weather, my hands are stinging with cold. I bought them because other reviewers had said they were warm. They're absolutely NOT.

backcountrry or spring gloves w great dexterity
May 22, 2012

I bought these gloves for use in the backcountry. I wanted something light-weight for the hike up and for switching from touring to ride mode on my splitboard. Therefore, I need to be able to use my hands. They definitely provided enough warmth for the hike up, and I could still use my hands. I've also used them for spring conditions, and they work very well for that. So, if you are looking for a light-weight glove that offers good dexterity, these are a good choice.

Pros: Build quality, Performance, Great value, can fiddle with backcountry gear easily when on

hardcore gloves, but not warm enough
April 10, 2012

the last missing piece of gear i needed were waterproof gloves. i needed something durable, waterproof and warm. i'm also a little spoiled so I like it when things are comfortable. so: they are very soft inside. very comfortable. However, as other people said there's a sharp edge to the loops inside the gloves, but only on one of them. durability - havent abused them yet, but they seem very good. warmth - so far, i am not so impressed :( in moderate cold, little windy with me sitting and eating/cooking my hands were cold... might need a lining.

Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Cons: not hot enough

Nice
January 28, 2011

Seem to be completely waterproof and windproof, warm without being too bulky. Either I have short thumbs or they're just way too long because the fingers fit spot on, other than that great product.

Durable, warm, and keeps your hands dry. Plus they are not too bulky. They are well constructed, your typical MH quality. I went backpacking in the mountains with them and they held up great. Great purchase

Good Purchase
February 07, 2013

Purchased these a while back. defiantly worthy of a purchase, high quality and fits very comfortable. the only problem i have come across is the warmth in the fingers seem to be lacking. i have had many trips where my fingers would become cold, even while active.

These gloves are freakin' awesome man!
January 31, 2013

The pistolero gloves by Mountain Hardware not only look good, they feel good too! These are one of the most comfortable gloves I have ever worn. I dunked my gloved hands in a pail of water to see just how good they are and there was absolutely no leakage at all. These gloves would be warm enough for most any conditions you ski in. I love them.

Too cool glove
January 03, 2011

A cross between a ski glove and an Italian, cool Ferrari racing Moto glove. Great feel but a bit on the small side. Able to tie my hiking boots with no problem. Totally worth it...as with all MHW products.

Waterproof
January 16, 2012

To add to the above product copy and correct it if I may as 'water resistance' was mentioned. I just wanted to reiterate that these gloves are completely WATERPROOF due to the OutDry membrane used in the construction of the glove. We've figured out how to laminate this OutDry membrane 3-dimensionally to any shell fabric including, obviously, leather making gloves completely waterproof which isn't the case when using, what used to be standard, insert technology. We use the OutDry membrane in the majority of our glove line. I hope this info helps to clarify! Cheers!
