Comfortable nice looking sweater
April 13, 2011

This is my second Mountain Hardwear Sarafin Sweater, I had it in Green but love the Grey one I just purchased. The shading in the colors is very nice. This is the perfect sweater for cool Colorado days. I love the fit except the sweater arms are long for me. It has the thump holes in the sleeves which is great when I am out walking but I usually tend to roll up the sleeves. I am 5' 3" and 122 lbs. Maybe I should have ordered the small. I really like the length of the sweater and the slim fit. It also washes nicely.

Cozy Sweater
August 07, 2010

I just bought this sweater for the fall and winter. It is super cozy and extremely comfortable. I will definitely be buying more in other colors.

Nice!
November 18, 2006

Great sweater...wool without the itch! Carrot juice is a great color and it fits true to size. It's form fitting without feeling restrictive. The back is cut a little lower than the front so it lays nicely over the butt. The thumb holes aren't really necessary, but they add a cute touch. The inside of the sweater is almost prettier than the outside...too bad it's not reversible.

Functional and Attractive
November 19, 2007

Awesome sweater. The look of a wool sweater with the feel of a fleece on the inside. Tight knit with medium thickness, Picante is a really nice pumpkin color. This sweater isn't as fitted as other Mountain Hardwear tops in the torso, so size down or it will be a bit loose. The thumb holes make this sweater super functional, but the holes aren't big enough to look funny if you don't wear it that way. The collar might be a bit loose if you have a smaller neck, so take that into consideration. As usual, another great MH product.

So cozy and great...I bought 3!
December 05, 2010

I got my first Sarafin sweater because I liked how Mountain Hardwear clothing fit for tall women and the reviews were raving about it. After I got it on the first time and felt how lightweight yet warm and comfortable it was I got right back online and bought it in two more colors! This is the best sweater I've found for long torsos and arms and the not-quite-mock neck gives a little bit of coverage but doesn't feel stuffy or constricting. The best part is the incredibly soft fleece like lining - it keeps you warm in cold temps and doesn't feel itchy if you're just throwing in on over a tank for a little extra coverage!

Sarafintastic!
December 06, 2010

I ordered this for my wife - no easy customer - and she was quite pleased with the style and warmth. The titanium color was a hit, too. She has worn it both around the house and on business-casual occasions. Another great product from Mountain Hardware.

This is my second one

Very soft inside for a wool sweater. Also, since it has no cotton, I use it for camping and casual wear

Comfy and soft
May 15, 2013

This sweater has a very nice fit and the material is soft and comfortable. The V-neck is just right, not too low and not too high. The sleeves were also a good length for me as most clothes I buy, the sleeves are too short. Now that summer has arrived, I will have to put it away till next fall/winter.

Love this Sweater!
November 11, 2010

I love this sweater! This is my 4th Sarafin Sweater in 4 years. I have 4 different colors and imagine, I'll be collecting more. Overall, the fit is great and it is a very flattering cut. It is not bulky and fits well under a jacket or vest. All of my sweaters are a size small, but I found that the fit of this year's version is a little more snug than the others.

Great fitting sweater!
February 16, 2011

I bought this sweater for a trip to Colorado - I just love the way that this sweater is fitted. It is cut very small - so if you want to wear a thin base layer under it - I would purchase a size up. I originally ordered the XS but returned and reordered the regular small. I purchased the gold color and would love to have one in the grey.

I would buy more
October 12, 2009

I own two and as soon as I can I will buy more. Best, best, best sweater ever. Super comfy...great thumb holes...never loses it shape and is fantastic in cool and nippy weather. A MUST HAVE!

Cozy and Cute!
February 21, 2010

I bought this sweater a few weeks ago and wore it for the first time yesterday - now I will buy one in every color! It was so soft and cozy warm, I was toasty all day long on the slopes!

Beautiful sweater but order a size bigger
May 05, 2011

This sweater is beautiful, I can't wait for the weather to get cold again so I can wear it, BUT I would have perfer it to be one size bigger- as I always order size 6-8, but this top runs small.

My favorite winter sweater
October 13, 2010

I love the fit, the style and the comfort of this sweater. I purchased it last fall and wore it all winter- skiing, hiking and around town.

Great sweater!
March 03, 2011

This is the second item I've ordered from Mountain Hardware and I'm, once again, very pleased with my purchase - a great product. This sweater is light, soft (outside and inside) and fits well on my body. The most important thing is that with a regular jacket and this sweater I'm well-prepared for cold European winters. I should get another one in a different color!

The Sweater Different..!
November 26, 2009

I bought this sweater in the Espresso color after seeing it on a friend and coveting it. I originally ordered the size large - I'm a 12, but had to return it for the XL because it felt too tight across the shoulders when I used it as a top layer over a thin smartwool mock turtle. (BTW - Altrec bent over backwards to handle the exchange for me even though I didn't try to exchange it until past the normal deadline for exchanges - I bought it in the summer for fall use). Now I have one that fits well as a top layer and I absolutely love it! I like that it doesn't resemble the usual offerings and works well as a warm layer for my sometimes chilly studio, or for sports, or as a nice looking layer for a casual evening out for music. All around great sweater, thoughtful design.

Great sweater!
May 05, 2011

I love this sweater. It's very comfortable and soft. If you want to layer something underneath I'd suggest buying one size larger. I have worn it with a sleek-fitting shirt underneath and it was fine but anything bulkier would have been a problem. If it goes on sale again I'll buy another. Nice fit, good lines, and a very nice soft interior.

Great sweater...a must have for those who want comfort and style
January 04, 2007

Great Sweater....I liked it so much I ended up buying another! The carrot color is terrific - goes with everything. The sweater material is durable but soft and comfy. It also washes well. A styling step up from fleece - which I also love!

Sarafin Sweater
May 31, 2011

A really beautiful sweater--and I had to have the gray--but only available in XS. And yes, it was too small... But my daughter was home visiting and it fit her very well. She was so happy I ordered a soze too small... It is wonderful quality--love the thumb holes--love the soft lining..

November 14, 2012

I love it. The fit is modern and stylish and it's toasty warm. The neckline is just right- not too low and not too high. Perfect for showing off a special necklace, but also nice with a scarf. Can be dressed up or down- definitely a great purchase. I bought two!

March 11, 2011

This sweater is very useful. While made to be worn outdoors, it is dressy enough to be worn to work. It is soft, feels good, and washes well. Fits like my other Mountain Hardware tops.

Love it!
February 09, 2009

Super comfy, very warm, and nice fit. I can wear it to work on a casual day. It keeps my hands warm in my chilly home office. Looks great and the color is gorgeous. I wish I had two.

really warm, nice color (the green), good fit
March 02, 2010

generally all around great choice for just hanging out, fall hikes, around town -the small was a little roomier than I usually like really like the color - had to search for this color and I always love mountain hardware designs

Fantastic Sweater!
February 12, 2011

An absolutely great sweater, very warm and oh so soft!! The kind of sweater that you put on in the morning, and don't take off until night time. Very versatile, goes with everything. I would love to have one in every color! Highly recommend!

This sweater is sexy!

The quality of this sweater is top notch I am just sorry it can not be made right here in the great ol US of A! I love the thumb holes and I don't even SKI!

My favorite sweater
August 14, 2009

I just love these sweaters. I've had two since last year (last season's green and brown, respectively) and I'm ordering more. They're warm and comfortable, and they look great in any setting. The tailored fit and structured collar give them a look that's more refined than an ordinary crew neck, and works very well with a button-down shirt, yet they look perfectly right on the road or in the woods too. The material is good quality and seems very durable. I look forward to Fall just to wear these again!

Great!!

warm, comfy, stylish
April 14, 2011

I love this sweater. Usually wool is too itchy for me to wear against my skin but the fleeced interior and fabric blend makes it work. I got it snug fitting, and can wear with a thin interior layer or by itself--it's a great piece for casual days where you don't want to look too casual, and you want to be warm. I could do without the thumb loops, I have to say.

Great sweater
April 09, 2011

Great price for this sweater, especially re: color, style and fit. Fits true to size and is perfect for an upcoming trip. Can easily dress the sweater up or down. Would defintely buy this brand again. The color selection was also excellent. The only part of the sweater I was not crazy about was the bottom hem - a little on the loose side

nice, but sizing is off
March 14, 2012

I liked the color and cut of this sweater in the photos, but the sizing was way off for me. I ordered a small, which is usually fine in sweaters. This sweater was large in the chest/body and short in length, The sleeves were very tight and short too. I had to return it.

Great Fit!
November 04, 2009

I have long arms and a long torso but this sweater fits great. Very comfortable!

Sarafin Mountain Hardwear sweater - titanium
October 22, 2009

I have the orange sweater and brown sarafin sweaters and love them both. I also ordered the titanium (gray) one.. which i really wasn't as happy with due to the bluish color with it. I wish there were more color choices

Love it!
January 12, 2011

The Sarafin sweater is consistently wonderful. Sporty and athletic, warm and cozy, as well as stylish! I love the colors that mountain Hardwear offers and the size is slim but not too tight. This is my second sweater I've purchased and it's a classic that I will wear many years.

Great sweater
November 05, 2007

My sister received this from me as a gift. She loves the lining and says that there is absolutely no hint of the "scratchy wool feeling" that you hear about.

I wanted to love this sweater, but...
December 03, 2012

The pictures of Mountain Hardware Sarafin Sweater looked great online, and given the high ratings the sweater received, I decided to order it. As some of the reviews described, the sweater runs small. I ordered a size up, but the sweater was still quite form fitting/snug. I think after a couple of cleanings, it would be too small to wear comfortably. Given the material is wool, I was expecting the sweater to be a little itchy, but I found it to be a LOT itchy. Too itchy for comfort. And I really disliked the collar. It was sort of "floppy" and took away from the look of the sweater. I like the Mountain Hardware brand a lot and would order other products from them, but I would not recommend this sweater.

Pros: material looks nice, Cons: too itchy, runs small

Love it!
November 19, 2007

I love the Sarafin sweater! It has a nicer look than some of my fleece shirts that allows it to be dressed up if you'd like. I got the picante color and it's great.

Sooo soft but a little short
October 31, 2011

This sweater is wonderfully soft and really warm. It's not itchy at all -- I wear it with only a camisole underneath. The sizing is a bit small though, particularly the length (if it were 2 inches longer I'd skip the camisole). I'm 5'6" and got the M, since my other Mt Hardware sweater in a similar fabric is an M and fits fine. You might want to order up a size if you're long-waisted. I didn't send it back for a larger size though, because I was afraid it might be baggy.

I am ordering another in another color. Soft , warm. Runs a little big.

Great Wool Option
March 29, 2011

I love natural fibers and since this is a cold climate, that means wool. This is such a nice garment... well sized to fit with layers or by itself. I am tall, 5'9" and have a sizable bust 38D-DD and this fit is quite flattering. The arms and bodice are both long enough in the XL i ordered. The fit is slightly fitted but not enough to be skimpy or show too many of my "curves". The wool blend is soft and warm. I'll be sure to order another in this style or the cardigan soon.

Wonderful Sweater
December 14, 2012

I got this sweater for my wife for her birthday. She absolutely loves it!! I was worried that it might be a bit large so I got her a medium, she is 5'10 and it fits really well. She has a larger MH Phantom jacket and a MH vest that she uses as a system while hiking in the back-country. The Eco-friendly reclaimed wool is excellent even when it gets wet. It has always kept her warm and dry! What's great is that she can layer up when the weather turns cold or at other times she'll just wear the sweater under her backpack. Actually she has worn it out on the town and has gotten lot's of compliments. Great fabric and material long lasting and great style all in one!!

Pros: durabable, wearability, warmth, fashionable, Cons: might run large

My daugher- in-law loved her gift..
January 04, 2010

I bought the sweater for a gift to give my daughter-in-law for Christmas. The reviews are in all the way from Denver, CO to Tennessee...she loved it!

So Soft
May 03, 2011

I just bought my first Mountain Hardwear sweater in the Sarafin style. I love the fleece lining and wish all sweaters came with fleece. There is no scratchy wool next to my skin, just soft, pretty fleece. I am 5'8, 185 lbs and bought the medium. I found the sleeves to be plenty long, but the torso was just barely past my waist, otherwise it fit well. I give 4 stars because it is shortwaisted.

I've got several of each now, in different colors. I absolutely love both the feel and the fit of them. They are, without a doubt, my favorite sweaters ever!

BEST SWEATER EVER
September 25, 2011

This is by far the best, the sexiest, the classiest, and warmest sweater I have ever worn. I wear this sweater with only a tank top underneath. Just my preference. I get compliments EVERYTIME I wear it. Anywhere I go. I guess I'm the type of person that when I find something I like and it fits well, is made well, has great color choices, I buy more than one. I have this sweater in 6 different colors, and am buying the navy and black today. I wear the Sarafin with jeans, slacks, suits, and on the ski hill. Just the perfect all around sweater. I am 5'2", 128 lbs, and busty. I wear the medium. I hope this helps you pick a size. I know the anxiety that comes with trying to figure out what size to choose. you will not be disappointed with this sweater.

Very warm (and not itchy) sweater. Looks great on. I am a larger woman 5ft 10in 175lbs 38c and the size large fits nicely. I have the cardigan also and I love it. I wear them to work a lot. I always get compliments. They have a sporty casual look to them. Will probably get another one in a different color.
