Hauling your gear to and from the mountain can be exhausting if you're stuck with an ill fitting or poorly designed pack. That's why Mountainsmith designed their Dyno pack with plenty of ergonomic and functional features for climbers and folks who like to scramble high and fast. A triangulated Delta Compression System of leveraged straps and a canted cut along the bottom of the pack help minimize wear and scares on your approach. The integrated fit combined with an internal plastic frame sheet keeps the pack close to your body while optimizing load control. Inside you'll find a hydration pouch and plenty of room for your rope, shell, first aid kit, lunch and other essentials. The wide conical top load access provides quick access to your gear. The Dyno is fully compatible with Mountainsmith's accessory pouches and Side Kick cases so you can customize your pack to suit your needs in any season.

It has all the features you would want/need for a daypack. Padded waits straps, 2 elastic pouched for 1L nalgene bottles, plenty of storage, everything. Only downfall I have seen, like many others is that the water bottle holders are not tall enough. When climing Mt. Marcy in the Adirondacks I dropped a dropped a water bottle twice, could have done without that. All in all, a great pack and I highly recommend.

I purchased this pack as a lighter alternative to my Kelty Treker 4300. At only 2,500 cu. in. it has been an adjustment to the smaller capacity.
I haven't been impressed with the compatibility with the side kicks items. I purchased an accessory pouch for some extra room on longer hikes, but I've been unable to find a place to lash it on where it seems to fit naturally.
The side mesh pockets are nice, but should be higher. I haven't had anything fall out yet, but I've caught some stuff dangling. If the mesh was about 4" higher, I'd be totally happy with this feature.
The pack fits very nicely, and provides great ventilation for my back.
Some lashings on the bottom of the pack would also be a nice addition for future models.
The construction is great, and I appreciate the Mountainsmith level of quality.
