My eyes are so happy.
Ah, sweet, blessed relief from bright sun. I never thought I'd buy a pair of non-polarized glasses, but I figured with only "5% visual light transmitted", I'd give it a try. I expected it would turn day into night, but nothing of the sort. I use them driving in all kinds of weather (sunny or not). The only time they MIGHT be a little too dark is when I enter a building with dim lighting. Despite the lack of polarization, these prevent bright reflections from bothering me too much. Clarity and peripheral vision are excellent, and they cradle my face and make my eyes so protected and happy. Best glasses I've had so far. (But I'm saving up for a pair of the Julbo Cameleon polarized.)

Great glasses
The Julbo alti X6 glasses are great. They have a nice snug fit, and are very dark, great for snow sports. I did have a little fogging trouble when my Wapiti woolie hat would slide down over the upper edges, but that was no big deal. I didn't really like the lanyard that came with them but also a easy fix. Great job Julbo, and thanks Altrec.

Perfect sunglasses for me.
Purchased these Julbo Spectron X6 sunglasses for my trip to the Caribbean. My eyes are VERY sensitive to light and I was warned that the sun in the Caribbean is brutal. All I can say is mission accomplished!!! These glasses are great!! I had no discomfort at all and wore them swimming as well. Great decision on my part.

Finally! Sunglasses that are dark enough!
These sunglasses are wonderful! I bought them for my husband who has a hard time finding sunglasses that are dark enough for him (he has permanently dilated pupil due to an eye injury). He loves them. We used them on our recent ski trip and he wore them the whole time instead of his old cateye Vuarnet sunglasses. He likes how they wrap around and block the sun from the sides too! Thanks for such a GREAT product! :)

One great pair of glasses
These sunglasses are quite possibly the greatest creation in eyewear since the world left the monacle behind for full frames. They block out the harsh desert sunshine here in Las Vegas with ease from all angles and comfortably fit my enlarged cranium. While galavanting around town, scaling cliffs or punishing yourself trudging up steep mountainsides you will thank the powers that be (r&d) that Julbo created this masterpiece. Great for semi-sunny days as well due to their photochromatic capabilities. One complaint: lack of rubber nose pads causes some probiscus slippage during high intensity, jarring activities that produce copious amounts of perspiration.

great for the approach
These are great glasses for the approach to any glaciated peaks and would probably work okay for a day of snow, but your going to need the X6 if you are spending more time on a mountain. i live in Los Angeles and drive with them all the time -couldn't be happier!

Nice glasses
These are great glasses - too dark for driving, but great for snow and mountaineering. I've taken mine to the top of Mt. Shasta and to Cotopaxi in Ecuador. An interesting side effect is that instead of looking like an alien dork with leather on the sides of my eyes, with these glasses, I can't keep the women off of me. The black frames with silver shields seem like some kind of phermone. Or maybe it's just that I haven't showered in the previous three days I've been climbing. Whatever it is, I like these glasses. :)

For the ultra-light sensitive!
I purchased these on-line in a last ditch attempt to find shades that are actually dark enough to keep me comfortable in super-bright Sacramento Valley summer light. I am so light sensitive that going without sunglasses on a bright day is actually painful. No sunglasses have ever been truly dark enough to keep me comfortable until I found these. They are so dark that you can't wear them when there's even the slightest haze of cloud (as such I have a "hazy day" pair of sunglasses that lets in 9% visible light). I am THRILLED with my purchase, but would only recommend them to those who are as unusually sensitive as I am. If your sensitivity to bright light is average, these will probably be too dark for you. I did put a Chum on them to snug them up to my face a bit, because any light leaking in will cause enough pupil constriction to make it impossible to see out of them. I wouldn't recommend them if you have a large or very round face, as the frames are pretty narrow. The other nice thing is that even with the side shields on your field of vision isn't constricted like it is in traditional Glacier glasses with the leather side flaps. These shades are a godsend to anyone whith super-high light sensitivity...especially if you have to be outside in the summer! It will not be my last pair--believe me!

nice
I like these better then the Julbo Advance that I had. A nice lense for all but very sunny conditions. The lens adjust quickly and show colors fairly true with a slight highlight. The anti fog works well except when there is condensation which cant be helped. The frames are light, fit well and great style. The tips and the end of ear piece is pointy and hurts when putting on until the frames stretch a bit. The glasses dont fold tightly so they are a bit bulky when not in use. The side shields are easy to get on and off and mine came with two sets of different colors.

great glasses
very comfortable fit..,together with side shields do an admirable job of blocking light...real mountain glasses, not fashionista item, although they do look great.....use with croakies or similiar item as they tend to slip a bit when running.....X6 lenses more suitable for higher altitudes..

Good Glasses for the Price
The Nomad is a good pair of glasses for the price. My only complaint is that the ear pieces were not symmetrical so they were crooked when I first put them on (more crooked than my ears). They needed a good bit of adjustment.

Alti Spectron X6 BIG PROBLEM
My Alit Spectron glasses after 3 years of ownership are now peeling on the inside of the lenses. It looks like flakes or something and they are blurry and unusable. This is definately the lens material coming off somehow. What JUNK!
