Fit Tip: This jacket fit a bit on the big side. I wear a small and could have used the tighter fit of an XS.
A perfect insulator for mild weather days, The North Face S.T.H. Jacket has a four-way stretch design that gives you plenty of mobility for climbing, hiking, spring skiing and moderate trail running. This jacket is all about warmth with breathable comfort, making it ideal for clear skies and cool conditions. The Apex Weatherblock fabric has a four-way stretch construction that's moderately water-resistant and superbly optimized for vapor transfer. If you're lucky enough to live where there's plenty of sun in the cool winter--or you're just a fair-weather outdoor enthusiast--The North Face S.T.H. Jacket is a perfect piece for going fast and hard on trails and slopes.
Great Skiing Shell
I skied in the spring for a while with this jacket - didn't get too hot, even when hiking with the skis, extremely waterproof and wind proof. Hopefully going climbing with it soon - see if it is durable. Amazing Jacket.
Gift
Your jacket was a Christmas gift to my son (on his wish list). He was so happy and looked fabulous in his new jacket. Also, your delivery was very fast. Thanks.
Good so far.
I live in Texas, so it hasn't gotten cold here yet, but I have worn it a couple of times. I've gotten multiple compliments on it and am hoping its as warm as the other reviews say since I'm going skiing with it in December.

Ummm It's Good
Just bought this jacket at a North Face Store, and incredible, um wind = denied....water = get lost...it's pretty much the best when it comes to light weight soft shells. Don't be dumb, buy it.
Great purchase!!!
This is an incredible jacket, great slim fit, very warm!!
THIS JACKET ROCKS!!!
I got this jacket about 2 weeks ago and haven't regretted it for even a second! This APEX material is awesome! Not only does it repel water almost as good as a rain coat, but is soft, durable, and warm!! Since I bought this jacket I have received nothing but compliments from both strangers and my fellow Mountain Hardwear & North Face addicted friends. I actually bought 3 more of these jackets after I bought mine because I wanted to give them to friends & family as gifts!! AWESOME JACKET!!!!!
Best jacket ever
Best all around jacket i've ever owned. great fit, warm in the Cold Wisconsin winters yet not TOO warm to wear in spring/fall. Its also great for layering (although i wish it would zip into my NF shell... not its fault though its the shell). I replaced my 3 yr old Mountain Hardwear Windstopper Tech. Its just as warm if not warmer, blocks the wind the same AND is waterproof... something the Windstopper Tech was not.
This is hands down the best jacket I've ever owned.
Best all around jacket available IMHO,
I did a lot of research before purchasing this jacket and am very glad I picked this one. Always warm but not too warm, this jacket does wonders with your own body heat. I am 6'4", 190 and the Large fits great.
I'm a southpaw and I very much appreciate the Napoleon pocket being on the right for once.
Final thought- buy it if you can afford it, it is ridiculously superior to the $130.00 Apex jacket.
Perfect jacket for windy days.
I have been purchasing North Face products for the past 17 years and was satisfied yet again with this latest purchase. I quickly put it to the test by sticking my arm out the window while driving on the highway to test its wind resistance and smiled as i was only wearing a t-shirt & it didn't let the 17 degree wind break through. I'm 6'2" & ordered the large according to the sizing chart, but had to exchange it for the XL in order to put on a sweater underneath and be comftorable,as the large was a bit snug in the armpits. Altrec customer service was stellar!! They worked with me in trying to get the perfect fit & did it with a smile. Every one I spoke to was friendly and went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied! Will definitely purchase from altrec again.
Great all around jacket
I love the thicker Apex soft shell material in contrast to other softshell jackets by other manufacturers--it feels more durable and I worry less when skiing through the trees. Although the jacket is a great skiing jacket I wear this jacket around town because it is warm enough for all but the coldest of days. It looks great and I love the pockets on the jacket--however the Napoleon pocket should be on the left chest for right-handed people. I'm 6'6" and this jacket is plenty long although the picture included on the web site makes it look short. My only complaint is the lack of adjustable cuffs on the sleeves.
