great jacket
It is good jacket and smooth and warm. It is not too bulky however it is warm. Cool jacket.
Use as mid layer or by itself
Great jacket-long time in MH's line. Great as mid layer under a shell or as stand alone over a base. Good fit. Fantastic all around jacket
Love this fleece.
This is a great piece of fleece. Super soft, enough stretch to be comfartable. I just want to wear it all the time.

Love this fleece.

Nice lightweight Fleece
This jacket is very thin, but amazingly warm. I have several expensive fleece jackets of various thickness and this is by far the warmest- due to the wind-resistant design. Polartech WindPro is NOT windproof, as stated by Malden Mills. It is supposed to block 80-90% of the wind, and let enough through to keep you from overheating. It does this very well. I only notice wind getting through at about 30MPH or higher. This fleece is super lightweight, fits very well and true to size, and lasts a long time. Great for a layer under a shell. Mountain Hardwear has my business forever. Also, some people have complained about the drawstring on the neck. It is not elastic, but I find this to be better because you don't really need to seal the neck up to your skin to stay warm, unless you are one of those people who are never warm enough... Otherwise closing it about 90% of the way has always been enough for me.
lightweight and great looking!
light and very comfortable
Truly windproof
Excellent for biking in cold weather. With pit zips it could be even better.
Great fit. Use as a base layer or mid
Great jacket. Lightweight and very wind resistant. It keeps me warm while working outside or on the trail.
Perfect all around
I bought this jacket for my husband because I have one and I love it. He hasn't taken it off since I bought it for him. It is light-weight and very warm. We just took both of them camping with us. Everyone else in our party was cold the entire time except for us. It is very wind resistant. We love both this jacket and the womans version.
fantastic and stylish
MH makes quality gear. I usually wear Patatgonia & I like this MH Ozone jacket as a transition between an R2 & R4. I wear a 42 reg. and bought a MED which is stretchy enoungh in the shoulders but close in the body so just a t-shirt is comfy under it.
NICE
This is a great jacket, long sleeves, good warmth to weight ratio, soft. Mountain Hardwear rocks.
Wow!
Ordered this for our son who took it to college. It is so thin, he didnt believe at first it would be a winter coat. But it is very warm and completely wind resistant! It washes well with NO fading. It nearly as soft as non-wind resistant fleece and can stowe in a backpack easily. All this and it is breathable too!
great fleece
The MHW Ozone is a great light-mid weight fleece that fits well and is super soft!
Watch the Size
I bought one at M. It's kind of short for me, but works well. Worth recommending definitely.
Great light weight jacket
This is a great light weight jacket that I use on cool days. The jacket will also work well as an intermediate layer whilst skiing! Color noted as "carbon" but more like dark army green/gray.
nice fleece
Nice piece of gear. My only complaint is that the actual color is much more green than it appears on the website.
Ultra lightweight but warm...great buy!
This jacket has one of the softest velour fleeces I've seen but is very warm and wind resistant for the weight. Altrec's price was great and their shipping was exactly to the day they stated.
Great Jacket
This jacket is great. Keeps you warm in cool weather, but you dont get really hot in it either. I have not gotten to use it on the trail yet but I'm sure it will do well.
Comfy & warm
I love my new Ozone Jacket. Kept me warm during a very snowy Ohio winter!
Great allround fleece jacket!
If I had to cope with only one fleece jacket, this would be it. Thanks to Wind Pro fabric this jacket is warm enough even when temps go down to 30. Sleeves are long enough to keep your wrists warm, and thanks to close fit and flat seams this jacket works great also under a shell. Packs quite small and is light enough to go in your backpack. Highly recommended!
Great piece of tech wear!
This is such a great jacket. It provides fantastic wind protection (much needed out here in Wyoming) and it feels great. It doesn't have that crunchy middle wind proof layer - it is soft and supple. Super!
great jacket at a great price
Great WindPro fleece at a great price plus outstanding customer service from altrec.
Excellent
Thank you again, Altrec, for wonderful customer service and quality products. This jacket is perfect for cool weather or as a liner on the chillier days. The weight is lighter than expected but the protection is better than I had hoped for. Thanks, again.
Great Jacket
Have had this jacket for almost a month now. Its been great as an outer layer on cold days (20/30degree) as an outer layer. Will work great as an outer layer for MTB in the spring and fall which is why I purchased this piece. The fit is excellent with enough room to feel tight, but tight enough to not feel saggy or bulky either. Overall, a great choice for my needs.
Great Product
Great jacket made with high quaility material and craftmanship. Also Altrec service is really wonderful. Although this jacket was shipped UPS ground and my first jacket (Patagonia) was shipped Priorty Mail.
Warm and versatile
I love this jacket. It is so much warmer than my North Face Denali. I'll wear this jacket with just a t-shirt when it is in the teens and I am still warm.
Great wind blocking fleece
Great fleece that I used to zip in to my MH Nexus Jacket to ski in. Fits a little short on me, but is still fine. Blocks wind great!
great fleece jacket at great price
a terrific wind pro fleece jacket at a great price with outstanding Altrec customer service.
Comfortably warm
This jacket is wonderful. It is extremely breathable and very comfortable. I bought it for winter sports and came to like it so much that I wear it for just about everything. It keeps me warm in calm winter conditions, but if a wind picks up I need shell. It's all you need for temperatures over 30 and is a great layer for anything colder.
Great fleece jacket
This fleece is the best money can buy! Excellent warmth for the weight. Good fit. Well made/highest quality fabric and stiching. This jacket will be in my pack for years to come!
Buttery soft!
A picture of this jacket is featured beside the word "inviting" in the dictionary. I've used it for every thing from fireside cardigan to exercise warmup to midweight liner .
Great Jacket
Mountain Hardware has put together a nice product in the Ozone Jacket. I use mine for Mountain Biking below fourty degrees. The sleeves are comfortable while blocking wind infiltration. I bought mine one size larger so I can layer underneath.
Nice jacket. Too short for my son.
We bought the jacket for my 14 year old (obviously long waisted) son to replace another fleece jacket. He had a child's extra large North Face which was too short in the waist. We purchased a men's medium thinking it would be longer and he could grow into it. It is also too short in the waist. Other than that, he likes the jacket & says that it is warmer than the North Face jacket.
Nice Jacket
I bought this jacket as a layer with my Gore-Tex soft shell. With just a t-shirt and these combo, I stay warm and dry snowboarding in 30+ degree weather. When it hits 10-30 degree, I add another layer, such as under armor/long-john
The reason I'm giving a 4 star is that it doesn't have a zipper chin guard.
Warm for the weight
I bought the ozone jacket from Altrec.com for under $40 during a sale. If you can get one of these for the price I paid, buy 10. It's a lightweight fleece but blocks the wind well and keeps you warm during those fall evenings. Perfect for layering during daytrips as it weighs very little and can be stowed away easily when the temp rises. I haven't had it long so I can't comment on the fading that one reviewer had a problem with but so far so good. The large size that I bought fits me perfectly and I'm 6' tall and 180lbs. I'm not sure why Mountain Hardware decided to just put their logo instead of the name as well on this model but I'm not too worried about it. All in all a great jacket for what I paid but I would hesitate to spend over about $80 for this one.
pretty good, but not for anything cold
Bought this with the expectation of warmth, as some people said they wore this after snowfall. This is DEFINITELY not for anything below 5 degrees celcius unless you are active. It will only keep you warm for a very short period of time even around 5 degrees.. and if it's windy then you'll be heading back. It is pretty thin.. doesn't come close to Polartec 2..
I wore this camping and one morning we woke up to snow.. The entire day I was freezing.. wearing a long sleeve shirt, the ozone, and a hard shell on top.
The neck is also very SHORT, so you can't tuck your face in it to cover from the wind if you wear it without a hard shell.
The McKinley Polartec 2 has a much longer neck, it's much thicker, and keeps much warmer, but it has no wind protection,... it also costs 1/3 of the price less.
Overall, don't let the "wind stopping" feature fool you.. wind still gets through, especially above 20km/h. Also if you plan on wearing it mostly under a hard shell.. then you don't need to be paying this much for such a thin layer.
I'd say this will do good in mid to later spring, and late summer, maybe early winter, and possibly winter but with another fleece layer on top of it if you plan on just sitting around camp and not be active.
Also, the waterproofness is pretty useless as well.. you don't want to be caught in the rain with this on.. it will get soaked pretty fast!
Another thing you will find you may not like on this jacket is the neck "elastic".. that's because it's not elastic!.. it's just a hard string.. like it's made of cardboard or something.. looks and feels very funny on your neck when you tie it down. At least the one on the waist is elastic..
Overall, the short neck, and lack of warmth are the biggest complaints I have.
great but hangs a bit too long in my waist
jacket is a good overall shoulder season jacket. Great for spring and fall.
Mountain hardwear Ozone Jacket
This is a great fleece jacket not to bulkty like other fleece jackets. The Ozone jacket works very well to block out the wind chill.
Nice addition
I bought this to zip into my Confluence parka. Together this jacket is super warm and windproof. It looks good alone as it is cut to be a trim fit. Not bulky alone nor zipped into a compatible jacket.
Overall Nice Jacket
I bought this jacket in, both, black and carbon. The fleece is exremely soft, but at the same time thin. Overall, it seems like a well made fleece jacket. One thing I was a little disappointed in was the jacket didn't look exactly as pictured on Altrec.com. This may sound a little picky, but the Mountain Hardwear emblem where it says "Mountain HardWear" in yellow letters was not present on the jackets I received ( I prefer that emblem). The two I received had the little nut, or whatever it is, emblem. That is only a minor thing and I do like the jacket overall. However, I would personally pay a little extra and get the Mountain Hardwear Windstopper Tech jacket (that is my favorite jacket I have purchased)
Good jacket for a light wind
Works well in light wind on a cool day as an outer layer. Has an athletic fit with long sleeves.
Nice Jacket
It's an awesome jacket, but maybe one size larger is better. Light but works well in windy days. Worth recommendation.
Good, light jacket.
Like other Mountain Hardware equipment I own, the Ozone is well made. It is light and comfortable. It would be about perfect if the shoulders were covered with a small amount of abrasion resistant fabric to protect it from backpacks (and still not increase the price).
warm but faded
This jacket faded and Mountain Hardwear's customer service is terrible. They said it was just normal wear and tear even though it faded terribly. I am done buying their products. Find a company that stands behind their products.
