Fit Tip: This item tends to run small. Most customer size up one size.
Designed to insulate your fingers in breezy conditions while hiking, running, backpacking and Nordic skiing, the Outdoor Research Gripper Gloves feature warm and windproof WINDSTOPPER® fleece insulation backed with rugged Suregrip palm reinforcements for abrasion resistance. The lightweight and compressible construction make the Outdoor Research Gripper Gloves a superb choice for tight storage situations, especially if you're limited to the diminutive confines of a backpack or kayak (consider the combined weight and required space of windproof glove shells and fleece liners and you'll see what we mean). A tapered wrist configuration minimizes heat loss by keeping warm air trapped inside the gloves.
Essential Gear
I recently wore out a pair because I use them all the time. They're great for a wide variety of conditions (really everything excluding severe cold or wet conditions). The Windstopper allows the glove to remain fairly thin for great dexterity. This is one item that always goes with me, whether climbing, backpacking or cross country skiing.
WInd Stopper!
This gloves say wind stopper and they mean it I've ridden my motorcycle in 20 degree weather and my hands stayed nice and toasty. I used the sizing chart and the gloves fit perfectly. The only grip i have with them is the seems on the inside are kind of stiff but im sure they will wear in eventually. over all good glove for temps 20 and up

Gloves work great.
I got extra large, since they said they ran small. Wish I would have got a large instead, they are just a little big.
Can't go wrong with OR
I got several OR gloves, the 100 think liner with I use in leather gloves, the 150 with I use in my gortex shells and these gripper which I use as is. Hands stay warmer in these since they are windstoppers and grip well. They are not a tight fit like the 150s I am size medium. So they aren't good if you are planning on picking pennies of the floor.I like them very much.
375 Ultramag
I use these gloves exclusively for moose hunting and almost all my outdoor activities in Alaska. They are not good at below zero temps or if it's pouring rain but for the most part I have not found a glove that fits me better and performs better in the woods. They are tough and quiet and very comfortable to shoot with.I love the fact I have good dexterity while wearing these gloves. I own 3 pair and keep one in the pockets of all my outdoor jackets.
Works for me
I have used these gloves for many outdoor tasks in various cold and wet weather and I really dig them. They are easy to work with when needing to grip, yet warm enough to keep fingers nimble. Very good purchase.
Best thing for staying warm
I am in the military and currently deployed to Afghanistan. I bought these gloves to keep my hands warm while serving as a gunner atop Hummvee's during patrol's and convoy's. Driving for 5 hours straight at 50mph while sticking out of the roof of a Hummvee in freezing temperatures while holding onto an even colder metal weapon would be hell without these. Besides keeping my hands warm I still retain the dexterity to operate weapons and radios. These things are great. They also work well even when moderately wet.
Long Lasting and Great for Barns
I've had a pair of these gloves since 1999 and they have finally worn out with holes in fingers. They are outstandingly warm and dry without bulk--it's easy to buckle a horse halter while wearing them and they withstand years of stall shoveling, wheelbarrow pushing, bucket lifting.
A great purchase
These gloves kept my hands warm and wind free, hiking to the summit of Mt. Washington. Outdoor Research does it again.
A must purchase
These gloves are great. They kept my hands really warm and did not feel any of the wind , as I hiked to the summit of Mt. Washington. This was a great purchase.
Great gloves!
Fit the contour of my hand perfectly! Kept hands warm in early morning hike!
great gloves
these gloves are the best. i'm in the Army and i was first issued a pair in afghanistan. the army stopped issuing the gloves so i purchase them out of pocket. the deep green gloves match the Army's new combat uniform. i wish they offered the gloves without the OR logo seeing that the army frowns upon commercial logos on gear and equipment.
Wind Stopper Gloves
These gloves are great- I work on a boat off Catalina Island and they arrived just in time for the latest series of storms to move through our area. (It's a Lifeguard/Paramedic rescue boat) Handling lines and gear with protection is vital.
outdoor research did their homework
Great glove for winter cycling in subfreezing temps. Hands remain warm and dry. Dexterity for braking and shifting is good. Be sure to check glove sizing chart before placing your order.
Great gloves
These gloves are so good that I bought two other pairs for family members who love the outdoors. Articulated fingers; Excellent grip on the palm and fingers; Perfect for cold weather. Although a tad bulky for a glove linerr, my hands stayed extremely warm when worn with large over-mittens.
Perfect cool weather glove
Great gloves. Nice anatomical fitI I use these for active sports like bicycling, cross-country skiing & spring downhill skiing, hunting, etc. They're not really waterproof but work fine in dry snow. They are warm and highly wind resistant, and still thin enough to manipulate small objects. The grip coating on the palms + fingers is just tacky enough to be useful. I have two pairs now and use them all the time.
great glove
great fit, great altrec service!
Awesome Wind Proof Gloves
I used them on Mt. Rainier for all but the summit day. They are great for climbing/mountaineering when its cold, but not horrible. Work well with an ice axe and trekking pole in hand. Setting up tent, etc. is a breeze with this glove. In fact I just bought my 14 yr old son the same gloves because these perfomed so well.
Great Wind Stoppers
I just received these gloves in the nick of time. I have developed poor circulation in my hands and my fingers go numb with ordinary gloves at the slightest dip in tempurature. I am in the Northeast walk two miles back and forth to work every day.. The gloves are fantastic. My hands were warm and toasty. No more numb fingers!!
A perfect balance between warmth and flexibility .
The wind-stopper feature is a welcome addition to this light weight glove.
nice gloves
I bought these for late fall trips and lost them to my husband. Nice windstoppers when the weather is cold and dry. As usual, Altrec provided incredible service.
a glavoe with results
Fantastic glove; warm, dry , and comfortable. Works well in all weather situations whether snowshoeing or backpacking
Great gloves for paragliding
I use these gloves for paragliding and they work really well. They are a tad bulky/loose fitting but do an excellent job at keeping the wind out and my hands warm and protected. Best out of 5 or so different pairs of gloves I've tried so far!
Fit is great
I have a small hands and I have trouble finding gloves that the fingers are not too long and this gloves fit just right.
Great gripping strength, very flexible
I ordered the M size gloves but due to the tight cuff, had to return for the L size. Altrec has the best return policy in the world!!! Just click on the item in your email, and it automatically generates the return authorization and the shipping label. All at absolutely no cost to you. They are the best. Gloves are very nice also
Comfortable, warm and easy to handle things
This glove is a very functional glove for the price. For a glove, it is very comfortable and easy to hold on to most things. I wore them on a trip through northern Arizona and southern Utah in early March and my hands were comfortably warm. The only negative to mention is they don't repel water. In a rainy or snowy situation, go with waterproof gloves. I have a pair of these gloves and now does my wife. They work.
