Description
SolarShield fabric provides a protection rating of UPF 30+ for bright days on the trail. A broad foam-stiffened brim creates shade, while a Coolmax® mesh headband manages moisture. An external drawcord adjustment and a removable chin cord keep the Solar Roller secure through sunset's gusts.

Nice looking, cool, and a sturdy brim I bought this to use as a convertible-driving hat. The brim having the extra sturdiness of foam is a great benefit to help it protect against sunburn in the air turbulence of top-down driving. The strap keeps it firmly in place, also. The fact that is cooler than many other hats I've tried & looks nice are just great extras!

Solar Roller Hat Bought this for a trip I took recently. The hat packed well into a duffel bag and was great for keeping my face out of the sun. The strap underneath the chin was very helpful since many of the places we were in were very windy. GREAT HAT!

Lightweight, broad brim, packable Great, lightweight fabric, packs and crushes but regains sharp shape. Good for exercise and otherwise.

A wonderful hat! This is a perfect sun hat. It's light, capacious, secure (thanks to the adjustable cord), colorful, and the brim is wide enough to really block the sun without impeding the wearer's vision. It is easily packed and washed--all sun hat needs met.

Consider it? Buy it! This is a wonderful hat. I bought it for my mom's short trip. I and my father focus on the technical quilities more than on its shape, but she is different. However, she was compltely satisfied with its shape and performance. The hat is one of her favorites. Are you looking for a gift for your girlfriend or mother? Buy it!

Good hat for the price, rim pushed me to reject The hat is light, provides UVA/B protection, comes in great color combos and is reasonably priced. XL is hard to find and I have anothber from this mfg. but returned this one as I felt the rim was too stiff and would not hold up to being rolled up well.

Mother & Daughter, two thumbs up! I bought two of these in different colors initially for myself, but my six year old daughter, who HATES to wear hats, loved the Orchid colored one so much she's claimed it as her own. A happy situation since now I don't need to plead for her to wear a hat to help keep those freckles (though adorable!) in check. Interestingly, the same size hat fits us both well thanks to the easily adjustable external draw cord. We've worn them in the pool and through oppressively hot days at amusement parks (...the chin strap keeps them on even through roller coasters) and we feel so thankful for the lightweight fabric and shade from the wide brim. It's so easy to pack completely flat, yet the brim's flexibility quickly takes on a flattering gentle wave shape once on...the embroidered flower is also a pretty accent. My only suggestion for improvement would be to make the mesh headband (which is currently black) the same color as the underbrim fabric (more of a khaki) so that it is less visible. Otherwise, I'll be buying yet another one for my mom, and thanks for a great product!

Great hat I plan to use the hat for hiking in Bryce Canyon. I tried it out in hot, windy conditions and it did what I wanted it to do: stay on, shield the sun and keep my head cool!

Hawaiian Bliss!! Living in Hawaii, I was looking for a lightweight hat that covered my face. To my pleasant surprise the Solar Roller Hat met and exceeded my expectations. The service was excellent. I will use Altrec again.

Love this hat As a PE Teacher this hat gets two thumbs up. Even my students like the looks of the hat. It is light weight and very comfortable. It is easy to wear and to carry by rolling it up and putting it in a pocket. I bought for protection from the sun and it was less expensive than other brands. I love it!

Cute hat for light activities in the sun, not the rain I expect this hat will be most useful at the beach, ballpark, etc. and for light trail hiking. The two-cord adjustability is a great plus for securing fit against winds. Rolls and retains shape well. Keep in mind that this is a sun hat, not a rain hat. It held up okay during an initial drizzle, but the rain soaked through to the top of my head soon after. But then, OR doesn't claim to offer wet weather protection in this hat model; it's only for sun and wind and those things it does well enough.

Cute and functional! I am not usually a hat person, but a trip to Central America necessitates the use of head covering. This hat looks great, packs well *and* has UPF protection. I would definitely recommend this hat for those looking for an attractive, reasonably-priced hat for travel.

LOVE IT THIS IS A WELLMADE HAT, IT FITS WELL DUE TO THE ADJUSABLE CORD AND PROVIDES LOTS OF SUN PROTECTION. I GAVE ONE TO MY SISTER FOR CHRISTMAS, AND GAVE LOTS OF HINTS TO MY DAUGHTERS THAT I WANTED ONE TOO (I GUESS SOME SIGNALS ARE NOT AS STRONG AS THEY SHOULD BE). MY PLAN IS TO HINT AGAIN IN MARCH FOR MY BIRTHDAY, OTHERWISE I'LL BE BUYING ONE FOR MYSELF.

Worth buying two I like the first hat so much, that I bought another one to keep in my travel tote. I don't want to be without one when I venture forth. This hat is lightweight but very adjustable and functional. The brim is very wide to keep the rays off of your face. And I like the tie under the chin and headband adjustment for securie fit. Just about as good as hats get.

Protective, but doesn't breathe well. I bought this hat to use while running to keep the sun off my face and neck. It does a great job blocking the sun, and does breathe well.

Great hat! This hat is lightweight and adjustable to make a very snug and comfy fit. I wore it out kayaking this past weekend and not only does it protect from the sun, it also dries really fast if you get it wet. The chin strap adjustor kept it from blowing off in a gusty offshore wind. Highly recommended.
