Love the snaps, love the back brim!
I LOVE this hat! The snaps work very well to keep the brim up. I like this much better than velcro. The hat keeps it shape very well, and is lightweight. I will be using this during a canoe trip in Canada this year, and I am looking forward to having this in my gear.

It rained on the way home from store after I bought the OR Nimbus. I put on my new hat and the raindrops sounded cozy. And I felt dry. And yeah, it FIT! One size does not fit all. So glad that some hat companies have noticed that and are making sized headgear. (I am a woman. Very little stuff for women is sized.) BTW, I work outside as a tour guide. A colleague recommended this hat. I only wish I had taken her advice sooner in the tour season.

Awesome Hat!!
I kayak, hike and backpack and this is one of the best hats especially being water proof! I like the fact that it has a wide rim that provides shade from the sun and rain off your face. Plus I like the bright colors as it's easy for someone to spot you if necessary.

Nimbus Sombrero Hat
I recommend this hat very highly. It is feather light and sheds rain beautifully. It provides enough shade from the brim to be comfortable when it is dry. An excellent all-around head covering. My only suggestion, being from Arizona, is to change the color name of 'Alpen glow' to 'Arizona Sunset' we told everyone that was our color.

LIGHTWEIGHT, GOOD IN SUN AND RAIN
I love this hat. I use it for hiking and long walks. If it is partly cloudy, it doesn't matter if it rains and if the sun stays out it works great for that too. An all around useful hat to have. I now have more than 1 color.

A wonderful rain hat for warm weather backpacking
I found the hat easy to modify the brim into the most useful shape. It looks very nice and the breathability is a definite plus. My first pick for downpours in the spring and summer.

Got to get a hat to get a-head
My wife and I bought two Sombrero hats for our trip to Rathlin Island off the Irish coast. We expected wet weather and wanted to be prepared. I wear glasses and wanted to avoid the need for windshield wipers so my hat keep my face dry from that Irish rain. They worked!

Just what I was looking for
This was my combo sun and rain hat in Costa Rica. It is stable in wind (with string back up); I snapped the sides up if very windy. It worked great in the rain. The Seattle Sombreros don't fit my XL head, so I was glad to see from previous review that these don't run small. With the little adjustment toggle it fit perfectly.

Excellent as a sun screen and as an umbrella. I love it.
Keeps the sun off my head and face and the rain off (my glasses)very effectively. It's a little cool in the New England winter but, its not really designed for it.

Excellent, lightweight hat for rain protection!
I bought this hat for myself last year when we were out x-c skiing in the rain--with it on I didn't even know it was raining any more. My husband was jealous so I just bought one from Altrec for his birthday. I've worn it once for running--worked great for that too. I like the way the hat looks, its light weight, the ability to cinch the crown snugger if needed, and the chin strap that prevents the hat from flying off in wind. I'm not normally a hat person (usually wear ear bands or visors), but I definitely don't mind wearing this one! I've had a hard time finding this hat for my husband locally--Seattle Sombrero is much easier to find--so I was very glad to see Altrec carried it and at such a great price. Shipping was FAST!

Awesome Hat!
Bought my Nimbus Sombrero for the start of my section hike of the AT- the hat is simply awesome! Kept the sun off of my head and face and the breathability prevent any discomfort! Even after washing it once home, it still looks brand new! VERY IMPRESSED!

Will serve purpose
I would like a little taller crown but it is just a matter of looks. Well made. Wide brim for sun and rain cover. Brim retains shape well. Wife made it clear if I don't wear it she will. Holds it own in wind. Haven't had it out in heavy wind or rain yet. It has a broader brim that the sahale sombrero that I have already. Was looking for a cooler summer hat with same rain and sun protection qualities and this hat fits the bill.

Great hat!
True to size (other OR hats seem to run small), lightweight, packable. The reinforced rim makes it a better hat than the Seattle Sombero in my opinion.

Absolute Tops
I already had a Seattle Sombrero for the winter, so I grabbed a Nimbus for the summer. I wore it on vacation in Hawaii and it saved me from the scorching sun and wind of the tropics. Nothing bothered me when I had on this hat. Even when we were hiking in the volcanoes national park and the ash was falling, the hat was great. I even looked cool in the pictures my wife took, a rare feat. If you need a hot weather, full coverage hat, this is the one to get.

Outstanding
I already have a Seattle Sombrero and it works great in the winter, so I was looking for something to wear that would be equally good in the summer. I got the Nimbus Sombrero and the day after I got it, my walk to work was in a downpour that was soaking everything and everyone in sight. Lucky for me, I had my Sombrero on my head and the water rolled right off with no problem. It works better than described and I have no complaints. The snaps are easy to use and the cordlock headband adjustment works like a charm. Definitely a must have if you need a light, effective hat to keep the rain and sun off of you when its hot.

Keeps me dry and in the shade
I put this on the very next day after I received it (it was a rainy day) and it lived up to its press. Not only keeping me dry in the rain and drizzle, but also shaded in the sun. The sweat band does what it's supposed to do and there is no sweat dripping down into my eyes as I walk. It is easy to care for and washes well in Nikwax TechWash--retains its water repellancy after the washing.

Keeps off the sun AND the rain.
I absolutely love this hat. The day after I received it, and the first day I wore it, we had a two day bout of rain and wind. It worked wonderfully keeping me dry. Not only that, I wear it on sunny days and it keeps me well protected from the sun and the sweatband does help keep me cool and the perspiration is wicked away. GREAT!!!!

Hat for all seasons
With a brim large enough to shed water away from your collar and shield your eyes from low winter sun. This hat has won both myself and my wife, who was reluctant to try it but now wears it all over. Great product.

Good, two minor design flaws.
The Nimbus works quite well and looks good too. My only complaints have to do with the elastic cord system which insures a tight fit. First, there is a hole in the back of the hat that this cord travels through to the outside. Second there is a little flap over the hole to prevent rain from pooring in, but this flap is sewn onto the hat and the stitching is not taped on the inside. Water does wick through the stitching. I'm sure very few will be concerned by either, but these are my comments.
