Chaco Sandals: Women's Z/1 Sandal
Description
Whether you're hiking, trekking, or just knocking around, the Chaco Z/1 sandal provides durability, comfort, and support. A sure sign of this sandal's durability is the Vibram® Unaweep sole, offering long-lasting all-terrain traction. Another example of the Chaco Z/1 sandal's rugged build is the single piece strap assembly, not only providing an innovative adjustment system but also virtually eliminating strap blowout potential. The Chaco Z/1 sandal owes its supportive comfort to the specially formed BioCentric footbed contour that aligns the bones for a proper walking motion and concentrates the fatty pad under the heel bone to most effectively utilize natural shock absorption. And most recently Chaco has reformulated the midsole, shaving 25% off the weight of the previous model....

One of Chaco's core focuses is on proper biomechanics, manifested in their BioCentric footbed contour that encourages the foot to assume a neutral position. This position aligns the bones to most efficiently propel the body forward, not only a source of good foot health but a healthy base for proper ankle, knee, and back movement throughout the stride. This BioCentric footbed contour carries the seal of acceptance by the American Podiatric Medical Association. The Chaco Z/1 women's sandal is also noted for its innovative pull through strap assembly that connects to a single buckle for quick and simple adjustment. This innovative strap system has a low profile look, avoiding the bulk and stiffness of overlapping Velcro. Another feature that sets the Chaco Z/1 sandal apart is the durable Vibram® Unaweep sole, designed for positive traction over mixed terrain with lug pattern and spacing for a self-cleaning effect.

Love them so far! I just bought them a few weeks ago. They have really great arch support and thick soles to absorb the shock of walking. I bought them for traveling in S. America so we'll see how they hold up! All my friends swear by them so I'm trusting them to be true to their word!

altrec is awesome I ordered the 9s, as an 8 1/2, I usually have to. These run large, though, so I had to return them. Return process could not have been easier, and my new size 8s arrived in THREE days! Astounding.
The sandals are quite nice, too.

The best sandals ever Great sole shape, sole texture, great stripes texture. The delivery, as always, the best. Until some time ago, I had another favorite sandals company, now the favorite one is Chaco from any point of view.

Best Sandals you will ever own! I've owned 4 pairs of Z1's, not because they don't hold up, but because I wanted every color. I took one pair to Africa for Peace Corps and wore them almost every day of my service. I walked several miles everday in the sand and they are still look good, 5 years after my service ended. These sandals are the best.

Stability and durability- 8 summers and counting! I have two pairs in different colors. My favorite points are stability/support (I overpronate, and these are the only sport sandals I can wear comfortably) and durability. It's not mentioned, but you can contact the company and send them back to be resoled or to have the straps replaced--so they keep going and going. I sent my older pair back to the company for resoling a few years ago, and will probably have the straps replaced in a year. I agree about size- they run small (I'm usually 8.5-9 and I wear an 8 in Chacos).
