The women's short that revolutionized comfort for bikers has an improved 3D Pro Stretch Chamois pad for more stretch and breathable comfort. While slightly thinner than Pearl Izumi's heavier 12-mm. pads, the patented 3D Pro Stretch Chamois has a stretch design with 8-mm. soft front protection and 10-mm. compressed open-cell, high-stretch foam in back. What makes the Octane's 3D Pro Stretch Chamois different from other high performance bike chamois is the stretch and incredibly breathable design--a design that moves more air than Pearl Izumi's 3D Elite and 3D Race Chamois. Pearl Izumi kept the ergonomic panels and comfortable flatlocked seams exactly the same, so the Vertex remains a top choice for long-haul riders who typically burn 3,000 calories between lunch and dinner.
