One of the most affordable, compact, and lightest designs in Leki's Ultralite Mountain series, the Ultralite Ti COR-TEC Pole Grips are specifically contoured in a compact configuration of soft, no-slip cork cork. Leki's Ultralite Ti COR-TEC Poles have rugged HTS 6.5 aluminum shafts in three telescoping sections that allow for a wide range of adjustment--even up to 130 centimeters! No matter which length you dial in, the Ultralite Ti COR-TEC will help to distribute up to 25 percent of the effort to your upper body, so you experience improved stability and less stress to your knees and back. At the pole tips durable Carbide Flextips bend up to 30 degrees without applying structural stress to the pole shafts. An interchangeable basket system easily switches out the small trekking baskets for larger winter baskets. The user-friendly design allows the farrel tips to be screwed on or off without using tools. With a lifetime warranty against shaft breakage, Leki is the first pole manufacturer to be tested and approved by TUV, the prestigious Technical Inspection Service of Europe.

Nita - 2006-11-07Terrific poles
I purchased these mainly for the cork grips. My hands get sweaty while hiking and my previous poles have rubber grips - I was always having to wipe my hands off. Went hiking with these and, ta-da! No sweaty palms! The grips are smaller than those on my old poles so I don't know how they would be for someone with large hands but they are perfect for me. And, they are really lightweight. I was also pleased with the clip-on holder and tip protectors - makes it really easy to just clip them to the outside of my pack. Last but not least, Altrec's service was great, as always. They were shipped very quickly.

I just got back from hiking in Zion National Park. These poles worked great. On the down hills they relieve strain on your knees. The carbide tips hold on slick rocks surprisingly well.
For snow shoeing the seperate snow baskets work well. These poles have lived up to my expectations so far. I would recommend them.
