The Women's Lightweight R4 Jacket's fabric provides windproof protection for cold conditions in a single, stretchy package.
When the wind howls and the mercury plummets, keep cranking in our mobile and windproof Lightweight R4 Jacket. A low-nap microfleece face and high/low grid interior sandwich the Polartec Windbloc laminate, while unlaminated R1 fabric (now made with recycled polyester) underarm panels enhance breathability and mobility. A neck gasket seals out the elements, and seamless shoulders allow pack-wearing comfort. With three external pockets (the hand pockets stay clear of your harness), two drop-in internal pockets, a drawcord hem and a slim, feminine fit that accommodates light underlayers. 100% recyclable through the Common Threads Recycling Program.
So fantastic
Staying true to the Patagonia brand, this is another great jacket! The fit is perfect..functional yet not frumpy. It's warm but it is lightweight. In Chicago, it definitely won't do you right in the winter but it should handle well in to the fall.
Great jacket, fit to size, comfortable
This is a great jacket. It was slightly stiff when I first got it. But soften a great deal after the first wash. It fits to size. It's very warm and very adorable. It looks great too.
Comfy Layered or Alone
I wore this jacket in the heart of a cold Canadian Winter during a trip to Banff and loved it. It keeps cold wind at bay which is surprising considering that it is nice and light, non-bulky. Unbeatable combination to pair this up with a waterproof shell. Also good as a stand alone jacket. The fleece doesn't pill and is very plush to the touch (without looking like you're walking around wearing a blanket). Love Patagonia!

this is a great jacket, and is will worth the price. I took it to california and stuffed it my carry on and wadded it up in a basket at the airport, tied it around by waist at disneyland and it never wrinkled or got dirty looks great and is light weight and warm. will buy another
Light, good fit
Receive the order in less than 3 days, what a great service in dealing with the profs in altrec. the light 4R jacket in true to the fit, it is warm when zip up but cool with the arm pit ventilation system. Great product from Pantagonia.
wonderful, lightweight and warm
I purchased this jacket as my "warm layer" under my patagonia light smoke flash jacket. I wanted something that is not bulky but at the same time warm and allowing for freedom of movement. Patagonia did not let me down. It is very warm and comfortable. Having the underarm area constructed with a stretchy, non bulky fabric makes a lot of sense to me. Most of the fleece jackets I have seen tend to be very thick, making you feel somewhat "tied up" in the underarm area- particularly when you wear them under your winter jacket. This jacket is anything but that. On top of that, it has great ventilation which makes it easy to wear as your warmer layer on a colder day. The pockets and finishing touches are well thought out. I would recommend this jacket with no hesitation. The size chart seems about right to me. I am 5'2 and 120 lbs and I opted for a medium because I don't like things to be too tight- this worked perfectly me for me. I can wear a base layer under it and be very comfortable. Go for it, you wont be disappointed!
Light yet Warm; Fits Great
I bought this as a gift for my wife and she thinks it's the best fleece she has ever owned. It's not thick and puffy like lots of other fleece jackets yet it feels incredibly warm even on cold, windy days. The windproof laminate really does work. She says the fit is just right - not body-hugging tight yet not baggy either.
great jacket. great ordering experience
Much better style and substance as compared to North Face. Patagonia may actually be worth $200.
wonderful fleece
I live in New England where it is bone chilling cold but I refuse to wear a big bulky coat. I have the warmth and the mobility I crave in this jacket!
very cute and soft but not that warm!
This jacket is really cute, has a nice slim fit, and packs up small. I did not find it to be warm at all though--it was more of a "fall" jacket to me, or perhaps a good layer for running in winter. I run cold, so I was looking for something quite warm and this wasn't it. Also I'm tall and it wasn't as long as I'd have liked. It just barely made it to the top of my pants--not ideal. In the end I sent it back and went with the bulkier (but warmer and longer) regular R4.
