Worked great! I bought these to wear during a 50K trail run with mud, water, and snow. They were extremely comfortable - my friend purchased the Mountain Hardwear gaiters and had to wear tall hiking socks to prevent rubbing of the top of the gaiter on her leg. I did not have this problem at all. These stayed up well and did not rub uncomfortably. They are not waterproof, but highly resistant as my feet were submerged briefly a few times, and unless you are standing in the water, the gaiters keep the water out. Also, I didn't get dirt or rocks in my shoes which has been a problem on this run in the past. I had to change my shoes midrace, and the ease with which these go on made it wonderful. I wore the gaiters the entire time, and they were never uncomfortable or too hot. The only thing I could see them not being great for is if you are running in constant snow that is higher than the gaiter - I had a little snow sneak in. :)

Do what I want but... These gaiters do exactly what I want. They are light weight, fit well, keep dirt and rocks out, my socks stay a little cleaner on those dusty trails during the late summer months. But... after two trips I pulled one of the snaps out. OR replaced it no charge but there are a few durability issues with these gaiters. Haven't put the new ones to the test yet.

Awesome! These gaiters are amazing. I have had mine for 9 years and no problems. They are streamlined and have a snug fit. I don't wear my boots without them!!

Worked as advertised We bought these primarily to keep rocks and dust out of our boots during a 26 mile White Mountains late summer hike and they did just that. Ours fit as I would have expected them to. I did notice that they seemed pretty well broken in after the trip, but they certainly held up. Time will tell about log term durabilty. They breathed well also. Would not use them in wet weather.

Does just what I wanted. Fit tight, keeps the scree and trash out of my boots. Low so they don't rub on my calf or shin. Best of all is Altrec's great guarantee. No fuss, no muss, return it if you must. I shop here first and last.

Great tight These are great. They are tight and stay in place for the strong hicker. They also look great on you and don't make noise when walking...

Not good for long distances I like the light weight of the Flextext gaiters and the snug fit works well to keep out both snow and rocks, but they have a small flaw. After 400 miles, the stitching holding the velcro to the spandex comes loose. With the heavier nylon gaiters by OR, this is not a problem.

satisfied I have a size 12 shoe and purchased the large O.R. Flex-Tex. The current size option is large or small. I found they are loose at the top of the gaiter around my lower calf. They are snug around the shoe. I wore them with New Balance running shoes in the Indiana Sand Dunes for a 4 hour trek on the trails. After taking my shoes off, I dumped some sand from each shoe but the amount was less than a teaspoon! The tounge of my shoes are attached at the bottom so the sand might have come in from that area. I didn't have any sand stained socks around the ankle so I know that the sand didn't come in from the ankle region. They performed well enough that I would recommend them to another customer. I should say that I was not running, so I don't know how they would have performed being loose around my calf. I think I will take an elastic velcro strap and stitch it to the top of the gaiter so I can sinch them up.

O.K., but lousy fit I bought the large size bacause I have size 10 feet, but they are too big & floppy. Even with the front lace hook attached, the gaiters move around & don't stay in place. I had expected them to be somewhat stretchly because of the product description, but they are just like pieces of fabric with velcro. If I were to purchase a pair again, I would definately get the medium size. But I probably wouldn't take the chance.
Altrec/Vendor Response: We have a 100% satisfaction guarantee, and free returns if you would like to try the medium instead.
