Outdoor Research HydroLite Pack Stuff Sack (1-5)

Lighter and less bulky than a traditional dry bag, Outdoor Research HydroLite™ Pack Sacks feature a special waterproof finish that repels and blocks water molecules better than waterproof lightweight fabric treated with SilLite and other treatments. The cordlock closure helps keep most contents dry, but if you're concerned with immersions, consider doing a double-bag routine and buy two bags in the same sizes. These are excellent bags for paddling, fishing and backpacking under swollen clouds.

Although I love the outdoors,I use this large Stuff Stack (large Alpenglow) for laundry ie.,dirty clothes when my wife & I are enjoying the luxury of using hotels as our "base". We liked the first one so well, that I went back to Altrec to get another for our longer vacations. The sacks are very well enginered for backing or lightwt. use. It's easy to go back to Altrec because they stand behind their products & have no-hassle, timely returns, when needed.

Excellent quality stuff sack.
Like any other product made by OR this one is very well constructed. It's a good choice if your looking for a lightweight almost waterproof stuff sack. The only way water could get in is at the closure. But this would only happen if you submerge it.

Very light, but not truly waterproof
There is a tradeoff on this product. It is VERY light and very well constructed. However, there is no way this will be truly waterproof if subjected to submersion or even if water directly contacts the closure. With that said, inside a pack or for items that could get wet (like fleece or wool), but you'd much rather have dry, this bag seems well worth the trade-off. The weight savings is well worth the slight chance of leaks. I'm not going to put my down sleeping bag in it, but maybe I'm just a bit paranoid.
