Good Fit and not too Bulky for a Down Jacket I like the vertical design of this jacket and it definitely keeps you warm. I wish it was a bit longer in the front and back since layered wear tends to show. I typically do not like Velcro cuffs, but these are the exception. Definitely recommend this jacket for all-around use, if you want to stay warm against the elements and have a good fashion look

Downtown is very uptown! Lite ,soft & warm, + stylish = Total satisfaction on a cold Edmonton Alberta's winters day. It's my first puffy jacket, and it is hard to find this label, leading to "where did you buy that jacket it's gorgeous?"

Awesome! Overall a great jacket. Nice and warm for chilly spring nights out here in the Colorado Mtns. The fleece lining combined with the down allows the jacket to second as a pillow for backpacking.

I love this jacket. Only wore it once or twice because I bought it so late in season. It will go to Alaska with me in July, expect great things there. Good work Mountain Hardware.

Blanket Warm! You can't beat down for insulation. Have tried several synthetic products and they just can't compete. Attention to detail is great laminated flap on the main zipper and little "zipper garages" for the pockets. The fit of the coat is great and the durability is much greater than the phantom. You also don't get the oil stains on the fabric like you do the phantom as this is traditional nylon and not a ripstop. Overall a great value!

Excellent Great coat. So far it has been great in both rainy and cold weather(for Texas, temps in the 30s) and yet not too warm for wearing when it is a bit warmer. I would recommend it.

Awesome jacket The MHW Downtown Jacket is my first down jacket, but it has performed marvelously. It's a toasty experience (stranded on local highway at -5F for 2hrs). The jacket is pretty windproof to my testing (25mph sustained winds). The fit leaves some room for a mid-weight fleece or sweater (I layer the MHW Windstopper Tech Jacket; I wear a 42R suitcoat). The Velcro cuffs and the hems (one at bottom, another 6" above) help abate the cold and wind. And the only minor complaint is a few feathers poke through the exterior--not enough to cause problems but is still a minor concern.

Great jacket in both performance as well as looks! This is a great jacket. Not only is it warm but it looks awesome. It goes away from the traditional horizontal "puff bars" of other down jackets and gives really good lines that accentuates the male figure. Again, its very warm, you can't feel chill or wind going through it whatsoever. And at $140, its not that expensive for a down jacket either.
The only thing I wish it had was an outside zip pocket like the woman's version.

Love it! This jacket is warm, fits well, and looks good! My husband loves the 'cozy' fleece in the pockets and liner and likes being able to tighten up the back for skiing. Overall, a great, well made jacket for Canadian winters!

Solid down jacket I found this jacket to be warm, comfortable and functional. For style, well I don't think that down jackets by their nature are meant for "style". The jacket is certainly not too bulky and doesn't accentuate my spare tire. I am quite satisfied with my purchase.

Going Downtown Is GREAT! I really loved the feel and look of this jacket. Unlike the other 650 fill down jackets, it wasn't as "poofed" out, and had a much leaner look, with the same amount of warmth. The pimp chimp fleece inside was also a nice touch. Very light weight and nice to wear downtown, or on a winter hike. Very happy with it. The only thing I would want differently would be a hood.

Great Fit, Plenty of Warmth This is a great jacket for wearing around town on more cold or inclement days. The insulation is the perfect balance between not being too puffy, but still providing plenty of insulation to just throw over a light shirt and be plenty warm

Michelin Man Outfit This jacket is warm, light, and very well made, but stylish it is not. Of course all puffy jackets have the Michelin Man effect to some degree, but this one has a fitted cut that looks a bit cartoonish. The quilted abdominal muscles are also striking. This jacket simply does not live up to its "downtown" ambitions. One of the things I liked about this jacket in the photos was its relative lack of logo bling. In reality, there is a large MHW stitched logo on the left sleeve and another bolt logo on the back of the neck, so I think the pic is a bit deceptive. Again, technically it's a very nice jacket, but if style is a concern for you, I would be sure to check this jacket out in a local shop before ordering. With all that said, Altrec's return policy is fantastic.

Perfect for freezing weather Before purchasing this jacket I ordered some less expensive down jackets from Lands' End and Cabela's, both with 650 fill power. I was looking for something very warm because I walk to work at 6 a.m. every day (about a 15 minute walk). Some days are well below zero and I can't really wear base layers or I roast at work all day. This jacket far outperformed the other jackets in warmth, style, and weather resistance. The extra length adds a surprising amount of comfort. I highly recommend this jacket to anyone needing to stay warm in bitter cold weather.

Warm and Great Fit I bought this jacket after trying less expensive 650 fill-power down jackets from Lands' End and Cabelas. Neither were nearly as warm or offered as much coverage as this jacket. The extra length adds a surprising amount of warmth and it is cut for excellent freedom of movement. It also looks better than any down jacket I've ever owned. Highly recommended!

Very Satisfied Light weight, warm, well made. I'm 5'8" and size "L" sleeves are a bit too long but knit cuffs make it acceptable. Especially like the flat outer shell -- don't look like the Michelin Man even though it's a down jacket. Highly Recommended.

Perfect thickness I bought this for kayaking trip up in Washington state. Packs down nicely and kept me warm at night with merely a t-shirt underneath. Fleece lining made it very comfortable. I picked this over the Nuptse for looks and quality. TNF quality has gone down unlike Mountain Hardwear which has kept up it's quality. Great fit with the XXL for someone my size, size 52 shoulders 36 waist. Highly recommend!

I love this jacket It's probably the warmest jacket I've ever worn. The fleece lining is very soft. The fit is much more flattering than the usual puffy down jacket. Highly recommended.
