Fit Tip: Runs true in the width except it narrows a bit at the toe. Due to this is may run just a bit short. Not quite a 1/2 size.
A nimble performer for technical terrain, the New Balance Men's MT800 Trail Running Shoe is light, durable, and coddles the foot with excellent cushioning and compression properties. The synthetic and mesh upper is both durable and highly breathable, an ideal combination when faced with a thousand feet of vertical gain with a hot sun overhead. Underfoot the New Balance Men's MT800 Trail Running Shoe is not quite as protective as some other models (for example the MR873). But that means it's probably a couple ounces lighter, a trade-off that makes good sense for many endurance athletes, whether competitive or recreational. The New Balance MT800 does, however, offer exceptional cushioning, with Abzorb® pads in the heel and forefoot to make sure these high impact zones don't suffer as the miles stack up. The outsole is comprised of two specially formulated compounds, N Grip anti-slip technology rubber and Ndurance® rubber in high wear areas.
Great for running
These shoes are great for the trail running. Light, good support, durable. The only thing was I just had to buy one size larger then my other shoes (11.5 vs 10.5). I will buy the 800 again.
Great for running or walking
I just finished 14 miles on a concrete trail (about 75% run 25% walk). My feet and knees have no complaints! It seems like all the shoemakers have sacrificed comfort for durability. That is not the case with the MT800. I will buy them again.
Great Trail Runner!
These are everything the reviews and ratings say they are and more. Great Trail-runner for all terrains. Very light and good fit. These are more snug then the usual New Balance so if you have a wider foot go with a half size up. Otherwise don't think twice. Altrec is very reliable and quick too.

Great Trail-Runner
All of the rating and reviews are spot on. These shoes are great for the trail. Light, great support, durable. They are not as wide as the typical New Balances so be ready for a snugger fit from a New Balance. I will buy the 800 again.
Light but durable
This shoe was surprisingly light but's held up to different terrain types. Excellent purchase. Also, the shoe for me ran a FULL size smaller. Instead of 13's I had to pick up a 14 which fits great. Others have said they run a half size small but I had no choice because 13.5 doesn't exist. So remember that.
Perfect fit for running
I bought this shoe to replace my old running shoes which had seen there better day. I was very happy upon putting the New Balance MT800 to the test for the first time. Now, the fit only seems to improve over time as if the fit is personalized. I use them extensively for trail and road running and occasionally as casual wear. Altrec has always been a great store to shop for all of my needs because of their great return policy and excellent customer service.
Light trail racing shoe...
This shoe is very light for a trail running shoe. Great traction control. I would not recommend using on the road as these are obviously made for the trails.
Only issue is racing this shoe without socks tends to create blisters but I can deal with that at the finish line when I'm waiting on the others!
